Good idea, bad implementation – The idea of combining filter tap and water tap into 1 is good, but implementation is terrible. We bought this product from Bunnings, and after installation, the water leaked from within the tap itself. We called Brita customer service for help, so they sent a license plumber to help us, but it still leaked badly from within the tap. The plumber then recommended us to return the product. It'd be nice if it actually works. Show details

Beware - will stop working after 12 months and a nightmare to maintain – I purchased and installed the Brita WD3030 in August 2018. Initially, it was working fine in terms of water pressure and purity. We had some problems installing the actual tap, as the fitting was loose and very awkward to tighten. We engaged a plumber off the street to fix this, and it was all good. In August 2019 it started significantly losing… Read more

pressure. We again called a random plumber and they re-assembled the unit, stating that the PLV was perhaps not allowing as much pressure as it should. They just cleaned it out and blew through it, after which pressure was improved. In November, pressure again dropped to a new low. Even worse, it started to leak. Luckily we noticed before the water damage got too bad! All this time we were replacing the cartidges at around $80 AUD a pop. We call in a plumber again and they tighten things up, but can't resolve the pressure issue.

At this stage we have spent $300+ on plumbers and it's still broken.

So at the end of November we engage Brita. They ask for photos of the installation and the receipt. Of course, it was out of warranty, so we just asked for support anyway to see what they can do. The support staff quickly jumped to the conclusion that the issue was with the PLV, so we ordered a replacement for $90. Unfortunatelty, after replacing this, the problem persisted. After reporting back to Brita support, they just pretend to show some empathy and ask for more photos.

To this date, their support have not offered any means of getting call out support. Not being able to purchase all the spare parts individually (I asked, even at Bunnings where they sell this product, they don't have the spare parts) it is pretty much impossible to repair without buying a new unit entirely.

After reading all the other reviews here, I wish I had seen them before buying this product. I hope this warning is seen by all and that you don't waste your money and time like we did!

Leaks and causes damage just like the previous model – I've had this model just under two years. It was provided by Brita Customer Service as a goodwill replacement for a WD3020 model which failed twice (see my earlier review on this product). The 3040 now has failed in the same way, on the same component as the earlier model, and the resulting leak has again caused damage to our kitchen. There is a… Read more

braided rubber hose from the cold water feed to the filter, identical to the earlier model. This has again burst and leaked. The hose has non-standard, Brita-specific fitting on one end, so you can't buy a replacement hose anywhere.

Please please don't buy Brita taps. Three failures, including two floods in three years is a joke. My dishwashers doesn't leak, my washing machine doesn't leak. Brits taps do leak.
