OK when going but failed after 5 weeks use – I bought the stove in October 2021 and used it for a few weeks camping and then again for the last 2 weeks. In the last week of camping the tiny grub screw that holds the spring which keeps the spring to push the cylinder into the open position failed because it did not fully engage the threads on the spring. To fix it I had to monster the case… Read more
and steal a screw from the case. The access holes are not in line and the tiny grub screw has a Phillips head needing an instrument screwdriver to turn so I had to bend stuff out of the way to get pliers to the grubscrew. There is no reason I can see for the grubscrew as the Phillips screw easily clears everything. I reported this to BigW but have not had a response.
CAMPMASTER 2219 – Purchased from Aldi Gas burner controller came off while using it & caused a very dangerous small unit fire. Was just able to put it out in time. Could have exploded. Just another substandard import. Show details
Dangerous product likely to explode-I have the pictures of the event – Last Saturday night I had the unfortunate experience of having a Campmaster CM2100 BLOW UP whilst cooking in an outside well ventilated area. Very luckily I was not injured but could have been-seriously, especially to my eyes etc. as I was sitting near to the cooker about to remove a steak. Monday I rang the distributor AHM - they DID NOT WANT TO… Read more
KNOW ABOUT IT!!!!!!!!!
I WILL NOT BE USING THEIR PRODUCT AGAIN. NOT WORTH THE RISK!
Note I cannot find the correct date of purchase etc.
my problem is the batch of gas – The gas cartridge is faulty they won't empty always leaving a quarter of the gas in the can this is problem that I can't throw them in a bin as it made be crushed or damaged causing injury to others I can't believe it the other brands work great and empty out campmaster cartridges don't this is bad Show details
Campmaster stove recall – I had a Campmaster portable stove that I bought at Woolworths which was recalled. Woolworths refunded my money without any problems. Not sure why people are complaining that they don't do a refund? I know that some people don't have a problem with the stoves but if they're recalled, why take the risk when you can get your money back and buy something safer.
The recall worries me – Ive got several of these stoves including a double burner bought from woolworths. Both are on the recall list, which i think woolworths shoudl offer a full refund on. Typical to the big stores ruling Australia once again the consumer is left to pay the bill and clean up the mess left from backhanded cut corners business practices. Ive never… Read more
had a problem with my stove and always remove the canister and cook safely. But accoarding to the recall specifics the actual butane regulator mechanism was yrt again shonkily made to a price and the seals can give out leadong to gas flame backs into the canister.
I have had a friend greatly injured by one of these stoves. But they were cooking using a pot that filled with gas from the leaking regulator.
Campmaster Portable Butane Gas Stove CM2270 – I would like to add to those comments about this product...they are dangerous as I used only yesterday but with the updated package of gas canisters that state on pack of 4 that they are explosive proof design..I never had problems with other canisters until this new pack exactly the same but that statement saying 'explosive proof design' it was… Read more
leaking for who knows how long when the kettle boilt and I turned it off and heard a hissing/bubbling noise! I could have hurt very badly so threw on back lawn where it continued to empty on its own! please stop using its very dangerous!
Return cooker – If these portable cookers are faulty why can we not take them to any retailer that sells the brand that you have and have it replaced Why should consumers foot the bill every time
Campmaster Portable Butane Stove – I have owned a Campmaster stove for the last 8 months without any problems what-so-ever. The best purchase I have made in yonks. I am a marketeer, and have been for the last 11 years or more. The reason I bought one was because the so call "Thermos" brand flasks that are made today ( with S/S inserts) and a few others were absolute rubbish,… Read more · 3
don't hold their heat, get hot on the OUTSIDE. Cheap & nasty !!! Brand names mean nothing to me......not anymore. Brands...and loyalty, mean nothing today.
After too many returns & refunds, I decided to get a ( Campmaster) stove & a billy. They take up very little space in the car, and works perfect. No over heating, no leaking gas, no problems at all. It works just as it should.
My next prchase will be a small fry pan so I can cook breakfast on it.
All butane gas 'lunch box' type cookers have been withdrawn from sale – Have a look at this link from fair trading NSW ...apparently all Butane cookers suffer from this problem. Cookers that use propane gas are safe. I personally have not experienced problems with my Campmaster cooker which I have been using regularly for over two years. We cook loverly dinners on it and use it to boil the kettle in super quick… Read more
time, it's great for frying eggs for breakfast and even cooks the toast.... but I think it would be foolish to ignore the warning given by Fair Trading NSW.

Hottest Portable Gas Stove on Market-Cheap at Big W around $14 but 11000 BTU – This is our fourth portable gas stove. We bought it because it was the hottest and use it as a portable BBQ when camping. All others sold at Kmart and camping shops are around 7-8000 BTU.They have a .56mm jet usually and consumption of 180gm/h. This unit is 11000BTU and consumption of 230gm/h with a .65mm jet!! We have found the heat… Read more · 3
output slightly low on the others but on this unit the gas flame is much hotter, higher and roaring.
We have been using it with the seperate BBQ grill (the coating at the one sold at BIG W is better even though same brand) and found it makes great steaks with minimal clean up!!
At around $14.00 a great buy!The plastic carry case is good too which is hinged and locks ok!!
Makes a difference with little mouths to feed.Might get another one and ditch the old ones!!
Note:the Stainless version of this stove is the older style with less heat output!!
Remember 8700btu is 2.5kw whilst 11000btu is 3.2kw a .7kw increase or around 35% more heat!!
It is also slimmer than previous models!!
Takes ul1478 or en417 gas cartridges which are really cheap!!
We prefer using these type of gas stoves even though we have a proper gas stove/oven (note:burners are only around 8000 btu as well!!) in our caravan for safety!
Think about it.The cartridges have safety valves and with only 220g of gas even if they leak it is not enough to asphyxiate or cause an explosion.
The same cant be said about LPG gas bottle appliances!! Cheap, portable, very high heat input, safe, reasonably good carry case. Older/other moddels had the added safety feature of not being able to lock cartridge in if trivet was upside down in storage position.
