Learning to Handle Briliance – My R5 with Canon lenses has performed better and better as I have become used to handling the features that are new to me. Tracking focus Has turned out to be a brilliant addition to my photographic experience as I've learnt how to use it well. Battery life is shorter when tracking is always on but that is a small price to pay for the great results.

Very disappointed with Canons after care – I got the Canon Eos R5 in January this year and I loved it until recently when I did a photo shoot on the beach it was a bit windy and sand was being blown around after about 15 minutes of shooting the camera started playing up. I could take photos but not use the menus or anything. I returned the camera and was told it had gotten sand inside that was not covered by the warranty and it is costing me $978 to get it repaired. You would think a 3-month-old camera that cost $5,000 was able to work in conditions a $100 camera can. I will be looking at other brands for my next camera

Do not buy Canon Batteries made for the R5 - LP-E6NH – Updated my camera equipment last year from Canon EOS 5D Mark II to the new R5. I was warned that the camera consumes battery very fast, so I bought 3 new batteries made for R5 at HKD880 = Aud 167 a piece. Didn't try it out much except a few shots here and there. And then I went on a photo shoot trip and found out to my rude surprise that a fully charged battery lasted maybe half a day with very light duty shooting. And all three brand new batteries performed more or less the same. Died in about 5 hours of light photo shooting, not the 8K movie that they warned about battery consumption. I tried to get the batteries returned to Canon and replaced under warranty and of course unsuccessfully. But what really angered me was to find out that Canon basically use the same old batteries made for older generation cameras and added 20mAh or so capacity and went ahead to sell us fools the batteries for the R5 at such outrageously expensive price. I could have pick up some generic no name brand batteries for a quarter of the price and get the same or better performance. By comparison, the Sony AR7V batteries under heavy use lasted for up to 3 days with one charge. This is how shameless Canon is. No refunds, no returns, no recalls, just down right rip off the customers with low quality, low specifications products.

Purchased in at Canon for $500.
