Why is there such a disparity between reviewers over this model? And how do I figure out which is correct? Thank you for considering my questions

Can I print from my phone with bluetooth without WIFI router ?

I'm sorry but I don't use that facility so haven't explored. I prefer to print from a cable.

Does the TS6360a have a zoom function ie can it enlarge or reduce printouts or photos

Elizabeth C.
Elizabeth C.

I've not found anything suggesting it, unlike previous models I have had. ANY directions on use of the printer are SO difficult to find. The Canon contact reply was eventually of some help, but I still consider the model a total LEMON. SUCH a disappointment after at least 5 previous Canon home printer/scanners I have owned over many years. I too would value the facility to enlarge or reduce prints. All it will do is 'fit' the image to a page, and not very conveniently. Even the 'manual' online was not for this particular model. I use a Mac - it may be different with Microsoft.

Thank you for your comments! I need the zoom facility for my graphics and art so you’ve helped me a lot! I won’t purchase this product. I’m trying to replace my Epson workforce laser printer which was not a lemon and had a good zoom facility; but is getting on and the print cartridges are so exxy! I did buy a replacement - another Epson, ET- 4750 - quite expensive - an inkjet printer - I regard this as a complete lemon, poor quality print, painfully slow and not at all UF. I don’t use it although am trying to sort out its various problems with tech heads - this is not fun! It’s very hard to find good reliable printers; you have saved me from buying another lemon. Liz

Is the TS6360A compatible with Windows 11

JODY
JODY

I believe it would be, I haven’t accepted changing to windows 11 yet. A computer tech told me to leave it for a good while, to give it time so they can fix any problems, that could occur. Like when windows 10 was first introduced.

Jim

I have installed it on windows 11 and it works well. I have been using windows 11 since they cane out end never had any problems except that i will not install on older computers

Jim

TS6360 seems to be older and the cartriges are different and cheaper. The connection interface is also different.

Can I run my TS6360a printer off DC power in my caravan?

Maff
Maff

Don't know for sure but I think highly unlikely. AC devices need AC, not DC.

grg.gdsr
grg.gdsr

You could print with an inverter. That is a device that converts DC to AC power. Since a printer does not use a tremendous amount of power, you only need a small wattage inverter. Find out the watts power spec of the printer and get an inverter with a watts output power factor a bit above this. If you can only find the V I spec of the inverter (which is similar to power spec). Multiply the V I spec by 0.6 to get the power factor of it. This is the power you should go by for the printer. Also the current (amps) requirements of printers can be quite high. Make sure the inverter can output a bit above that.

After I scan can I save it on my computer?

TDLC
TDLC

My Mac will not recognise my TS 6360 as a scanner. Prints fine via my WiFi connection, but won't recognise it as a scanner. Yes , I have downloaded the latest drivers. Yes I have followed the on line guides and videos. Finger poised over a one star rating at the moment. What a waste of an afternoon...

What Canon Printer is a good buy to print onto CD /DVD's ? Please don't suggest the 6150 because it was a very thirsty user of inks. even with no Printing at all, with full new Cartridges, they were empty after using the scanner on 5 occasions only.

Jim
Jim

When you get a new Inkjet printer the cartriges are "starter" only ie they will print very few pages. Best value for money are the XXL full of ink cartiges. The XL are only 2/3 full and the standard 1/3 full.

Hi, What is the scanning quality like? I'm looking at scanning old photos but want to make sure they turn out alright. Also is this printer able to be connected to the computer with a cord? I don't have wifi at home to trying to avoid that. Thanks.

Senaka
Senaka

Quality of scanned images are really good. Quality drop is negligible.

You can use the code to connect to printer. I got a Belkin USB 2.0 printer cable to connect to printer. However, If you connect thr wifi, it is super easy.

I was recommended this printer, does anyone have any other recommendations?

Crystal
Crystal

Hi Kirsty M, if you use the U scan utility tool you can choose a high or standard quality scan, but I don't think you can add other corrections such as exposure or reduce scratches etc so I am not sure how well old photos will come out. I have scanned new photos and they came out really well. If you have a good photo editing app where you can edit the photos after scanning, then it should work out ok for you. Good luck.

what is the maximum GSM of paper\card you can put through the printer please ?

vanillarose
vanillarose

The thickest I have used to date is 220 GSM. It printed perfectly. Cardstock or photo paper is fed through the rear tray of the printer. Standard paper goes in the front cassette.

parkbenchbruce
parkbenchbruce

We selected this printer to do 250GSM and 280GSM, both fed through the rear feed. The 250 GSM Mondi Color Copy paper was special order from Officeworks. It has a better technology surface than the HP paper, we found. The colour reproduction from one Canon printer to another using their ink also varied.

How do I scan to my computer?

parkbenchbruce
parkbenchbruce

Mardi, When you have installed the printer you get Canon utilities. There is a scanner tool on your Applications under Cannon. This is from its help section. IJ Network Scanner Selector EX2 allows you to select the scanners or printers to be used for scanning or printing over a network from your computer or the operation panel.

After installation, IJ Network Scanner Selector EX2 appears in the notification area on the desktop. https://ij.manual.canon/ij/webmanual/ScanGear/W/MFP/20.0/EN/SG/Sg-NTSS_PAGE1.html Bruce

Hi Mardi, if you have installed your printer on your computer, click menu / all programs / Canon and you should find 'U Scan Utility'. If you open that you'll find all the scan options.
