One month on after the worst experience of my life and I still haven't heard from Carhood.
Completely unreachable in an emergency which left us over $600 out of pocket. Worst experience with any company in my life! Urgent requests for help still unanswered a month later! Live chat is not 'live chat' but a ticket service - no one ever responds. The emergency number directs you to -you guessed it- the live chat! If I could give negative 10 stars I would! Angry beyond belief at how this company left us stranded. Avoid at all costs!!

We were picked up promptly. Informed of our responsibilities, the customer service was good.
The vehicle wasn't the one we expected but we were upgraded to a better car at no extra cost. We wer wuite happy.
Carhood renting out your car ... stay away !!!
Stay away from this company!!! As many others had experienced the same problem, so did we ..... carhood capitalising on renting out your car, but never will pay you. When asking for payment, they keep coming up with all kinds of nonsense. It's not worth it. Us, living on the Central Coast, almost 2 hours drive to get to Carhood in Sydney, then they drop you off to the airport, which if fine, but when you get back they are always closed and you have to find a way to get back to pick up your car, meaning paying to get back by using a cab or an Ub...er. This is it for us ... never again we'll be using Carhood. Rather will pay for a shuttle bus to get to the airport and then will be picked up on return, no questions asked. It is not worth the headache with Carhood, who's customer service is ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING !!! Hardly ever get a response back on an email enquiry, and if you do, it takes more than a week!!! How professional is this?Don't get a third party using your car only for the sake of making a saving on airport parking! And not mentioning the fact if you end up getting a speeding fine (as we did), it is an absolute nightmare to sort it out so you wouldn't end up having to pay the fine. Carhood keeps their hand clean from incidents like speeding tickets. It's your responsibility, because you're the car owner !!!! Stay away from Carhood !!!! I know we will !
Add me to the list. They owe me $500 for renting out my car May to July 2019. I have used them before with no problems, but they are obviously having financial problems recently.
Good customer service, all the kinks were ironed out via email, instructions were simple and quite easy to follow, Payment was easy. And the Vehicle was exactly what I needed!

Collected from airport promptly and bond returned promptly. The car we received was exactly what I booked and met our families needs. We used the car for a holiday to visit family.

changed address, did not inform google, did not really explicitly point it out on confirmation email.
Topped up fuel, went to old address, boom no place, have to go to new address 15km away, get a bit lost due to the stress and new location, by the time arrived (running late for flight now) told that the 1mm nodule of it being no longer on full means its not a full tank, charged $50 to fill up the extra 500ml of fuel? Keep in mind I budgeted to be at carport 3hr before international flight, it was the issue with changed location that affected...my time. Did not tell me and then charged me $50 for cleaning. Excuse me? Cleaning what, the interiors were clean, only thing they did was vacuum where the feet were. Make money off other people's capital, no customer service to speak of, its a company on the decline

Since discovering Carhood a few years ago I use them every time I go to Melbourne... Way more economical than any other transport option and always good service. I have never had a problem with a vehicle or charges.
Awaiting carhood payment for over 3 moths. Is this some fraudulent scheme car hood is running?
Extremely poor and a disappointed customer. I am waiting to be paid for over three months from carhood. When will I get paid? I was expecting a different car.
I used to car to attend to a three day conference. Everything was fine. After all i was satisfied.
Car was not at the airport ready to be picked up, had to catch an Uber for 10 minutes to the location where the car was.
The keys where in a lock box which was fine.

I left my car with them for 6 weeks and on my return after many issues when dropping off and pick up I never got paid, they said they had no money and the new investor will pay. this was Christmas new yar 2018-2019, until today no money!

I use Carhood for the reasonable pricing all the time
The Team in Brisbane are great. However I dont think its fair to keep changing where their office/dropoff is. I couldn't find where to park the car when I dropped back. Not the Brisbane Team's fault but luckily I had a mobile phone number in my phone and was able to call them after hours, at 3pm to find out where the cars were to be dropped off. There was no signage wasn't there because they were in transition. I realise the Head Office is responsible for their office. Also when the hours are cut short it means you need to uber to the airport, with the extra cost you can also weigh that up and get a car from the airport.
Good cheap vehicle hire
Used car for running around and visiting hospital within the Sutherland shire. Would definitely use again. Only criticism is car smelt stale. Like someone had carried fried food in it

The service was great. I would of used it the next time I hired except your hours of operation were not convenient. The staff are friendly but when someone is flying in or out it's hard to organise a taxi to or from depot to airport when depot is closed

We hired our car through Carhood for 2 days in Brisbane withe the family and they were superb . Customer Service was second to none !! We got a free upgrade to a larger newer vehicle for free . No hassles , no problems . The smoothest car hiring process I have ever experienced

Avoid them like the plague
Before I had even stepped out of the car on returning it, they said I had caused damage without even checking any records. It felt like a complete set up.
When I tried to go through it with them they acted as I if I was the crook when every step has shown their behaviour to lack transparency, honesty, ethical let alone best practice.
They had already tried to prevent a cancellation contrary to the clearly written statement of free cancellation on the booking confirmation.
They make it impossible to deal on the phone and only have web chat and ...
they never pay you and they don't take care your car at all
I traveled oversea for a long time and they never pay me for leasing out my car. It's been for a few months. They did not take care my car and I am paying for damage out of my own pocket.
No Payment! Don't List Your Car!
Got my car back early March 2019, now is already Sept, 6 months ago... My car got damage at the back, cost $450 to fix. No car listed payment no car claim payment either. Email few times no reply; call up, they say only for pick up and drop off service; live chat, they say will get the payment pay as soon as possible but don't know when will get it. I think this company is bankrupt soon. Anyway to report them?
They don’t pay
I left my car with them for a year while I was overseas. I picked it up in December 2018. 10 months and many emails later and I still have not been paid. Their customer service online chat could not tell me when I will get paid and the accounts email address they refer you to does not respond.

I doubt any one got paid from carhood. Do not leave your car there at all. They just make money out of the car. Never pay you.
I have left my car there 3 times now and it hasn't been rented out so i cannot speak personally about not getting paid for rent however I have read a number of other reviews that claim they haven't been paid or had to wait a long time.
Hello all people who is still not paid by Carhood. I received a legal advise today. The first step is to lodge a complaint to Fair Trading. If they don't help you, then escalate issue to NCAT and only after you can go to court. I already lodged a complaint to Fair Trading. They advise us over the phone that this kind of case should be resolved within 30 days. They owe us a lot of money and also we have car damages after the renting.
If Fair Trading receives a lot of complaints from us, they will definitely close this dodgy business.
Attach all proofs, emails, statements etc to your case.
A little bit of my story. I rented out my car for more than 10 months. I received a penalty notice in the very beginning. Because I was outside of Australia, I didn't know about this until I came back. Guess what? Penalty notice -> Overdue penalty notice -> Enforcement Order -> Car and License Arrest -> Bank account arrest. I found out this when I came back to Australia. NSW Services website didn't tell me a word that I have any overdue fines despite the fact that I checked it regularly. It is a huge pain to resolve this issue for me now. Carhood didn't respond to my emails regarding annulment application fee that I already paid to NSW Revenue.
