Placing my parents into residential aged care was one of the most challenging experiences our family has faced, and I undertook an extensive search before choosing Brownesholme Residential Aged Care. compassion, and genuine care. The transition into residential living can be overwhelming, but the staff made every effort to ensure my parents felt comfortable, respected, and supported. Their patience and kindness during those early weeks made an enormous difference to us all.
Now that they are settled, it is incredibly reassuring to see them not only well cared for and safe, but truly content. They are treated with dignity, warmth, and respect at all times, and it is clear that the staff genuinely care about each resident as an individual.
Communication with our family has been consistent, thoughtful, and reassuring, which has helped build a strong sense of trust and peace of mind.
I would particularly like to acknowledge the Residential Manager, Business Manager and Clinical Manager and the entire team for creating such a warm, welcoming, and caring environment. Brownesholme Manor is truly a wonderful place, and I am deeply grateful for the care and support provided every day.
The care you want your loved ones to have – From the moment my mum walked in she was warmly welcomed. My children and I visit her weekly and she is always happy and says she’s everyone’s favorite because they look after her so well. Friends and relatives who visit are impressed with the cleanliness and the friendly staff. Show reply

Staff are very friendly and obliging. You all need medals.
Follow-up · 1. Very friendly, happy and nothing is ever too much trouble. 2. Always very tasty. 3. I love going to the live music mornings, poetry and if possible the physical activities but because I'm vision impaired I'm unable to do the board games.
❌❌I would NOT recommend Carinity Wishart due to poor management and ongoing neglect concerns with my elderly father, if it was my choice I would move him. They don’t even deserve one star!! I feel that it’s difficult to get a clear answers from… Read more
anyone at this facility about anything regarding dad . My father is in high care in the time thus far he has had bed sores for a few months and now has an unexplained problem with his hands feet and torso being covered in blisters that eventuate into sores and scabs still to this day remains undiagnosed . The podiatrist until I requested a revision was useless- the state of my father’s toenails was disgraceful. My father is bed bound and during the day he is in a mobile bed chair conversion in the living room area which one would think is good for stimulation however on many occasions I have seen him situated 10 metres from the TV without his hearing aides (which they’re supposed to apply daily ) offering no stimulation he might as have been invisible . I have also seen him wrongly positioned in the chair bed to the extent that he looked twisted and uncomfortable not even facing in the direction of the tv with his head bent sideways to see the tv, I was horrified and had to ask for assistance. He has ongoing shave cuts on his face from whoever shaves him and no one thought to suggest an electric shaver to which I suggested and purchased. Although some of the staff are obliging I find others very rude and not responsive when I visit dad. I feel that the recreation director is useless as in every instance that I have visited all they do is have the tv on and if you're lucky there maybe something interesting on the TV. I don’t understand why they don’t offer anything fun to stimulate the residents . It has been approximately 10 months since my father arrived they have been given ample time to prove themselves as a caring aged care facility which in all honesty I have hardy witnessed. I find they lack communication they never return calls , I have been lied to , they are withholding information that the next of kin have every right to know and nobody seems to have any idea what’s occurring on a daily basis ! This is exasperating to say the least . Unfortunately in my opinion this facility is poorly managed So no I don’t recommend this facility. I will be making a formal complaint to the Aged Care Commission.❌❌ My father has again been diagnosed with bed sores .
Follow-up · Carinity is under investigation by the Aged Care Commission for neglect. They continue to lack consistent care for my father. I am fighting for his rights as he doesn’t have capacity .
My husband is in the memory support unit (Jacaranda) and I am extremely happy with his care. The staff are very caring and so aware of who he is as a person. Even though Colthup Manor is an older facility, I put personal care and staff to resident… Read more
ratio way above anything else. If I have had a concern about any small matter, it has always been addressed in a professional and caring manner. The administration staff are very approachable. I have no hesitation in recommending Colthup Manor to anyone looking for care for a loved one. I only wish there were more rooms available.
Follow-up · The carers always validate any small concern I might have. They will connect with the RN on duty who is readily available to see me in person or via a phone call and will personally visit my husband quickly when a concern has been expressed. Staff on reception or working behind the scenes are always readily available to address any queries I… Read more

Leaving your partner of some 55+ years, to the care of others, is a rather emotionally difficult event, however as we now approach some 2 years since my wife was accepted to Carinity Fairfield Grange, I can only express my thanks to everyone for the love and care provided to her, to my family, and myself. It still hurts to not have my wife at… Read more · 1
home with me, however I could never provide the personal care that is provided by these lovely people.
The facility is managed efficiently, with friendly and compassionate staff who offer personalized support to residents with different needs. Additionally, it provides time to offer a range of activities and events that give residents variety beyond their regular routines.
And every visit, which in my case is frequently twice daily, you are greeted with a smile by any staff you see during your time. And any queries you might have, are welcomed and resolved promptly from the General Manager down.
I have enjoyed meeting a lot of the residents, their families, and staff who make the place a warm and welcoming experience, whilst enjoying quality time with my wife who I know is well looked after in my absence. Thank you and your love and care for my wife it is appreciated.
Mum was very reluctant to leave her home of 69 years to go into Aged Care. Our family felt guilty putting her in there but her safety was our number one concern with her low vision and declining memory. absolutely committed to providing a high quality and professional service to residents and their visiting families. We are so grateful to Andrea during the orientation process; Kristy at Reception greeting us everyday with her friendly personality; Debbie the Chef making meals that Mum enjoys and her very patient kitchen helpers like Lynette serving up many different options at each meal; Ros and Sian the event co-ordinators bringing enjoyment to each day with planned activities; Tegan the OT running the group exercise classes to stimulate them physically and mentally; the numerous extremely caring and qualified male and female Nurses administrating medications and doing wound dressings; and the many dedicated carers (too many to name individually) for their specialised role who shower, dress and chat with every resident to make them feel welcome and dignified; the prayers offered by the Chaplains at the Chapel; the maintenance guys for maintaining the Complex and gardens in a proud state and to the cleaners for ensuring every room and community area is clean and hygenic. Mandeep and Merrin are both very approachable and deserve their success overseeing a very well run aged care facility with an experienced team giving it a wonderful reputation.
Brownesholme, a Way to Transition Well! – My mum has been living at Brownesholme for a year now and feels right at home there. The modern, airy ambience of her room, the whole facility, the beautiful gardens and quiet spaces, the attentive, caring staff, and tasty, nutritional food helped her transition from independent living to aged care living so much better than it could have been.… Read more · 1
Transition is never easy nor straightforward for client and family, but having my mum connect with her carers and fellow residents early in her change lessened her stress and anxiety during this big change. The residential manager, admin staff, medical staff and carers were accommodating during the initial stage, and my mum suddenly acquired extra family who genuinely looked out for her, monitoring her mental, emotional and physical needs 24/7. As a family, we saw how her regular social contact with others helped improve her quality of life, and her confidence grew as time went on. She also has regular input from her Chaplain, and the activities staff are forever running community games, puzzles, shopping days, special treats, and providing special visitors to help her and her fellow residents stay connected and feel included. I love how Brownesholme has regular doctor visits on-site, as well as a physical therapist and a lovely hairdresser. Residents can choose to use these in house specialists, or choose their own. No one should ever feel hungry in Brownesholme. There is morning tea, afternoon tea, and supper in the evening between main meals, and families of residents can avail themselves to a lovely three course lunch with their loved one if they so choose. As a daughter of a resident, I always feel welcome when I walk through the entrance into the beautiful foyer and down the wide corridors, and everyone on staff greets me with a smile. I'm starting to feel just like my mum, that they are a part of my family too. Here's to many more wonderful years at Brownesholme!

The manager Diane Wislocki helped me to organize a birdwatching morning for the local U3A group. She was so helpful and assisted us with tables and chairs, transport to the lagoon and access to the amenities. If this is a reflection of her work with the residents, I would have every confidence in recommending her. Thank you, Di. Show reply
The transition for dad into aged care at Brownesholme was made so easy by the staff. Everything felt seamless especially when there are so many emotions involved in moving my dad and selling his home. Dad is really enjoying the food and being so close to family. It has taken alot of stress off me knowing that is getting the support that he needs. Show reply
I enjoy living at Shalom retirement village as it is in a quiet area of Rockhampton surrounded by beautiful gardens, walkways and a delightful lagoon at the back of the village. I regularly walk around the grounds and pathways near the lagoon and watch the multitude of birdlife within a safe environment. People are friendly and because it is a small village, it is easy to gather and enjoy social occasions in the community hall.
My husband and I have only been with Carinity Hervey bay a few months but could not be happier with the care given in our home. We have two hours a week for cleaning which we are very happy with. help of Keith my carer unable to give the help he usually does. He has had been laid up after an incision, told to rest, feet up. Carinity have come in, helped to put the washing out and bring it in for a couple of days, it has been such a help for the both of us. Everyone is just wonderful; the ladies make my day when they are here as I cannot get out much. The lovely smiles, the help they give me with my showers and just being here to say hello, have a little chat if they have time. We are both so very happy and would recommend Carinity to anyone. Thank you, Anne & Keith.
We are extremely happy with the care provided at Cedarbrook. The staff care and involvement is very impressive. The food, facility cleanliness, residence activities are all of a great standard. In the final months of my father’s life, the team at Carinity Gardens - Wishart showed an incredible level of care, compassion, and dedication. I will be forever grateful for the kindness and dignity they showed my father in his final days.
I have always found the nurses and carers and other staff to be courteous and very careing. Everyone, all the staff, have been kind, friendly and good at what they do. As a regular visitor to mum, I can't speak highly enough of the facility and staff.
