You won’t find a better Home Care Package Provider. Professional, transparent, reliable, communication is amazing and best of all locally owned and operated by compassionate people who genuinely care!

Great Service – I was given a great service by Home Care Heros. They were very efficient in finding me heros immediately after I notified them of my special needs. The heros are in my local area and at a reasonable hourly rate.

The SIL team at my mother’s residence transitioned to Nurse Next Door with what initially appeared to be strong promise. The organisation presented… Read more

as experienced and assured us of high standards of care, including oversight from registered nurses. Unfortunately, our experience since the transition has been consistently disappointing.

There has been an extremely high turnover of staff across all levels, including support workers, registered nurses, team leaders, and senior management. This lack of continuity makes it very difficult to maintain accountability or ensure consistent standards of care.

We have experienced several serious issues, including a critical medication error where my mother was administered another resident’s full Webster pack for the evening (approximately 10 medications). This resulted in her being hospitalised for several days while doctors worked to stabilise her condition. This incident alone raises significant concerns regarding medication management and supervision.

Additional concerns include staff sleeping during active overnight shifts, inadequate training for SIL staff caring for high-needs residents, and a culture where responsibility appears to be placed on frontline staff rather than addressed at a management level. Essential equipment has also been allowed to go uncharged, preventing safe transfers for multiple residents.

From a day-to-day care perspective, there have been ongoing issues with basic household management, including failure to maintain adequate groceries and improper food rotation, resulting in spoiled items being left unused. My mother relies on 24/7 care and they have left her in the past waiting to go to bed till 10:30pm, dinner late when shes hungry, left waiting to go to the toilet etc.

Overall, the service has required an unreasonable level of oversight from family members, which is particularly challenging when not living on-site. Based on our experience, the level of care and professionalism has not been close to meeting our expectations, and I would strongly encourage others to carefully consider their options.

Been with this company for a while and always found the care great. I have a few long term carers that help me with shopping and cleaning and found that I have connected well with them. Nothing has been too much hassle.

her to the toilet, they poured a bucket of water over her head (whilst sitting on the toilet). This was their idea of giving her a shower! She was never taken outside. Only moved from couch to bed where she stayed all day. She was extremely depressed due to lack of brain stimulation. Elderly residents deserve to be treated with dignity & respect. If staff do not have the skill or training to meet their needs, they should be permitted to operate.

he was getting the care he needed. The nurses were attentive and proactive in informing me of anything that had changed and provided good and compassionate care. The carers were just lovely. They would go out of their way to allow Dad to enjoy his time there. They always looked for him at mealtime so as to assist him in going to the dining area. If we were visiting, they would get his meals and bring them to him. Somerville engages with the family, not just the person in care, and allows you to feel confident that all is under control. The admission process was easily managed by Hayley, and she has been a reliable, cheerful and helpful point of contact throughout our journey. Going into residential aged care is a really difficult decision, and I hope this review makes that decision a little bit easier for another family. Good luck.

general care. I cannot speak more highly of the way they have treated my father (and us). The word "kind" in their business name is no accident, as this is what they are. They should have squeezed considerate in there too! Nothing is too much trouble, and they have been diligent in reporting issues to us for our attention. Nothing is just ignored, as they really do care about him. Dad's ability to remain in his home is very much as a result of us finding the very best of carers. These are hardworking folk who are doing this job for all the right reasons, which is what you need to look out for in my view. Pity I can't give them more than 5 stars as they deserve more.

has a complicated condition that requires 24/7 care. From the moment I walk through the main doors….everybody is smiling, everybody is helpful….sounds crazy but it really does feel like a happy place…I always walk away confident in the care my mother is receiving.

My mother has her own air conditioned room to decorate as she pleases, her bed ,sheets, pillows and blankets are all supplied…she has her own large ensuite with shower chair and over toilet…a leather recliner…a big television mounted on the wall…all of her washing is taken care of.…Her room and ensuite are cleaned every day.Mum has the choice to eat in her room or the dining room…The food is exceptional,a dessert is also part of the main meal.Morning and afternoon tea are always supplied with a cake a slice or fruit.

Everyone from the nursing staff to kitchen and laundry are always happy and patient, turning themselves inside out to help the residents with whatever problems may arise,if for any reason the resident needs to see a doctor he is brought in and family are notified.

The lifestyle staff are all about fun they have numerous daily activities that are available for all residents to enjoy. They organise everything from playing Pool to bingo, crafts, high teas, hand massages, brain games, chair exercises, bus trips and garden walks.

Update..My mother passed on the 29/12/24,Adventist treated her with respect in life and death.

elderly, we need help to come to our home and provide essential needed services. We are so happy to have selected Christian Home Care to be our Service Provider.

This organization is run by people who genuinely are caring and want to help the clients they serve. They are respectful and considerate in communications and are very professional in the way they go about their business.

They have valuable resources at their disposal and are prompt in supplying the right people, whether it be medical professionals, therapists, or just general help around the home regarding day to day requirements such as cleaning, cooking, or gardening.

My life expectancy is short, but they have shown me that they are understanding and loving to a point that makes me feel like I am one of their family members, instead of just another customer. I highly recommend them to anyone needing a Service Provider who is the "real deal". They are not like many of the money hungry grabbers, that you hear about almost daily, in the news. Their service is exceptional and reliable and their fees are fair and reasonable.

This company needs to be deregistered for the appalling way it runs it Home Care service under the guidance of its totally inept Administrator / CEO… Read more

Prue Bowden. This company continually breaks it contracts with its customers by failing to show up for PC, has a high turnover of admin staff who are either illiterate, don't know what to do, are not engaged or trained. They charge like a wounded bull for a very low level of quality of service. They continue to charge customers when they are in hospital even though they have been notified. Customers find it extremely difficult to get through to them to relay concerns or issues, as nobody gets back to them. They treat carers like slaves, yet are happy to maintain a low level of lazy, incompetent carers who shouldn't be there in the first place. The after hours service is not existent when the voice mail box is full. Due to its top heavy admin approach, there are areas that fail to connect or speak with each other at the expense of its customers. Their billing is the pits as it is so far behind in delivering invoices to its customers that it should be illegal. I have experienced all of this at the hands of this greedy, soulless company. I am seriously thinking of starting a class action petition for all Australian Unity customers who have been wronged by AU. I am also going to write to Senator David Pocock about this horrible company & see whether a royal commisson can be instigated to reveal how Federal Funding for care at home is being gobbled up by this corporate who is continually at fault for failing its customers. If AU customers read this & are happy for me to start a petition, just let me know.
