Excellent – We are really happy with our Cavalier - had it just over 1 year, and used it 7 times without any problems. The only thing I have had to do is buy ratchet tie-downs to prevent the cover from billowing when towing. The tie-downs work a treat. Trailer well constructed and designed, tows well. Ours is the "rough road" trailer, with extra… Read more

dust-proofing and bracket for water tank in the future. Tent is very sturdy and easy to put up, very satisfied with quality and weight of canvas (15oz) for sides and roof. Highly recommend Cavalier to anyone, great after sales service. Aluminium bed base seems sturdy enough, while at the same time saving weight. We have an innerspring mattress and love it! Only complaint is not really a negative - the 15oz canvas walls add to the weight and bulk of the tent. Maybe 12oz sides with 15oz roof? Still a GREAT tent, though, blocks out light and wind.

Cavalier Deluxe Off-Road Trailer – I have owned my Cavalier trailer since 2007 from new. We have used it on many trips during that time and have encountered some of the issues others have previously mentioned. Can't complain about the rugged construction, no major failures. Replaced the wheel bearings, manual plunger for the water tap with the standard kitchen. Biggest… Read more

disappointment would be the hinges on the front locker and jerry can holders filling up with small stones / sand and seizing up ( no matter how much CRC and compressed air blowing during cleaning and packing away ready for the next trip, All needed replacement.

Water leaks in the front locker and rust and draw bar.

Resprayed the trailer with primer and kill rust.

Overall I would buy one again, cant rave about the after sales service, there was none, not even a follow up. Still if you find a product the works and are somewhat comfortable with stay with it.

Note

Beware cheap knock offs. Don't be tempted to go cheap on the canvas or construction, on face value it will save you money but given every time you use the trailer the cheap canvas will be a constant reminder, especially when it rains. rugged construction, price and space. Opens out to the road side, not the best setup when free camping

Excellent – Would recomend this trailer to anyone who is looking for something easy to tow and easy to set up and pull down. I travel on my own and had no problems even in strong winds. I did a lot of research on the internet and at the camping show and the Cavalier was the only trailer that had all the features of an off road trailer in an on road format. As… Read more

previous reviewer I have the rough road version. Very good solid construction. Doesn't leak at all even in a thunderstorm. I had never towed anything before and found the trailer very easy to tow. Increased fuel consumption was negligible. Set up and pull down was demonstrated by the sales person comprehensively. No complaints at all from me.

Good – We used our Cavalier on a 2 week holiday to WA North West. Towed behind a Discovery 3 with four adults and two children. We also carried an extra tent for 2 of the adults, plus extra chairs etc. Very pleased with the value for money, usability and toughness. Tows well, easy and fast to erect, strong, good in rail and dust.

Excellent – Having a ball going to all the best spots with a camper that cost less than $10k. Drive along the road easily at 110km/p/h. Enjoy the space inside compared to caravans. The space inside is enormous and it will go anywhere. We take our on road camper off road all the time. It handles anything we give it. The canvas is strong and the trailer is well… Read more

built. Never leaks in the rain and handles the wind extremely well. Having to pack it up to come home....

Excellent – I think Cavalier trailers are a great product.I have heard they have improved their trailers since I purchased mine. Our trailer has never had a problem - I have only greased the axle bearings once and they probably didn't need it. Buy a Cavalier and know you are getting an Australian made classis that owners will happily rave about. We have been… Read more

camping in HEAVY rain and the tent has only leaked through stitching in the floor where the support pole presses into the ground (only on one side). I have since seam-sealed the area and have not had a problem since. This is a follow up review - see my 2007 review of this product. We have had our Cavalier for well over 4 years now and have had many great camping trips in it. The quality of this canvas is fantastic - we have never had a zip fail or seam tear. I have had Cavalier fit internal gas lift struts added to bed base for ease of lifting up our heavy inner spring mattress plus base - much safer, as we used to prop it up with a stick. $300 well spent. Also added a short pole and bracket over tail-gate, so we can open it now withoug pulling the annexxe pole down. The guys at Cavalier are always happy to help you out if needed. This is a fantastic product that I would recomend to anyone. None. Don;t even think about a cheap overseas-made imitation. Get one of these (or another Aussie made one).
