Centacare Brisbane is always there to help. They are always wonderful, polite and I never had to wait long for help whether it’s a tradie, plumber or any information I need. Thank you guys I would be lost without you.
I can’t speak for how the interviews are conducted at this organisation, but from the tone and professionalism of their email communications, I can confidently say I would never want to work here. The interactions I experienced were cold, unprofessional, and lacked any sense of empathy or respect. To think you can address people in such a dismissive and condescending manner, especially in a field that’s meant to be about care and compassion, is deeply concerning. No one deserves to be spoken to that way.
If this is how potential staff are treated, I can only imagine how clients may be spoken to behind closed doors. The reviews online reflect similar concerns, and sadly, my experience aligns with them.
I value kindness, respect, and professionalism, especially in the care industry—and I refuse to work for or support a company that doesn’t uphold those values.
To anyone considering applying: please read the reviews carefully and trust your gut.
CENTACARE DON"T CARE ABOUT STAFF – I attended the Centacare Caboolture Office to be a volunteer. I completed the 3.5 days of staff training and also completed all the relevant CDT online training subjects. I obtained a Blue and a Yellow Card and had a Police check clearance. All I had left to complete was the CPR and First Aid Course. Centacare organized these two subjects for me to attend a short time before Christmas Day. I was unable to attend that course due to my son being overseas and a busy tradesman could only attend his home when my course was on. I advised Centacare a week before course starting date so they could cancel my attendance. They forgot to cancel my course and they had to pay anyway. I had to drive 3 hours to attend the address where this tradesman would be. Early January Centacare organized a new course for me. I attended on that Friday of a long week end. After the first part of the course was finished we stopped for a lunch break. I advised the course instructor that I had a major toothache and that my wife had managed to get me the last appointment at 4pm. The instructor advised that the Course didn't finish until 4.30pm so it wasn't worth me starting the training. I left and went by the nearby Centacare Office and advised them of my problem. Within several minutes of leaving Centacare I received a call from a Supervisor. I was told that senior staff had decided that I was unsuitable because I was unreliable. I was told not to bother coming back. I then went and had emergency root canal work. I was devastated that they said I was unreliable to do volunteer work for them. I had volunteered for 5 years with two other care groups. I see Caboolture Centacare has gone broke (Karma).
