  6 Natural Light Brown

Not sure if formula has changed. Recently in 2026 have tested stranded sunset copper, beautiful colour but extremely bold. Used 7.0 dark blonde which is ok. And now 6.0 again. The light brown is extremely runny, staining and comes out very dark initially. The 6.0 boxes went pretty far though medium length medium density hair can almost get away… Read more

with only one box. It's not really good for white/Grey's doesn't penetrate properly. It does have less of a smell and damage is minimal.

Have used 6.0 in the past about 2 years ago in 2024 with no issue, was actually quite impressed with it. Starting point about medium blonde. No colour fill required 6.0 (light brown) came out 5.0 (medium brown) initially but faded to correct colour within a week, say 3 washes. Faded about 80% over extended period. The fading was very even but ran a little warm

Warning ‼️ I had a really bad allergic reaction to the clairol nice and easy hair dye purchased from chemist warehouse. I will never buy this brand again. I had intense itching all over my neck, ears, wrists and jaw. The left side of my jaw was swollen and I had headaches for 2/3 days. Still waiting for blood test results to come back. Absolutely disgusting that they are selling such a product. Get it off the shelves asap! Show details

I have used Clairol Nice and Easy semi permanent light ash brown for 20+ years until they changed the product last year. The new formula gave me an allergic reaction which I notified Clairol about. I will never use it again. So disappointed as it was a top product that has now so many negative reviews. Show details

Follow-up  · Clairol didn’t respond to my original review and as I had an allergic reaction to the new version of nice and easy I have never used it again and hope others do t have such a bad reaction or experience with Clairol

  7CB Dark Champagne Blonde

It's ok. They keep changing the name of the 7 ash blonde. Currently it's called "cool beige blonde". It basically looked almost like it was dark silver in certain lighting which was interesting, I knew that outcome might happen but it was still a little bit jarring. Have used regular 7 colour once in the past comes out fairly golden over pale… Read more

blonde, I didn't mind that one.

I like Clairols semi range, I think they are a better option for experimenting and they don't really do any damage either but I've only used their semi browns for reference.

The colour is all wrong. I’ve been dying my hair ginger/orange tones for 3 or so years now and I decided to add a deeper shade of auburn, spent ages reading the box and decided on this shade as it’s a “light auburn” as stated on the box and still had the copper tone I liked. Well my hair is dark, darker than it’s ever been. It’s more purple/brown… Read more

than any auburn shade. It’s ridiculous really. The coverage was awful, it stained really bad and the damage the brand causes to your hair is a shame. I won’t be buying any nice and easy colours again as they aren’t reliable and are more harmful then they address the hair dye is.

Hair went pinkish particularly the roots – My hair, which is highlighted blonde but naturally dark blonde with grey roots, went a weird pinkish colour. It's not an ash blonde at all. Never again.

Something is Wrong – Something is wrong. I've posted this on Clairol website also. 20 plus year customer using standard No 9/103 (*NOT 9a- makes my hair look like cigarette ash). This past year 2023/24- - #9 is not available in stores. Also #8, #10 are not either. SO- I did something silly, went with No 7. Oh jeez, mistake. I've spent weeks and $$ trying to to… Read more

get the wrong color out. What is going on with this product lately? It would be 'nice n easy' if someone would respond. Photos show correct blonde color and incorrect brown color (looked WAY worse in person).

I’ve been dyeing my hair black for the past 40 years & this is the only hair colour that doesn’t react with burning & stinging of my scalp! I even had an allergic reaction to a supposed “natural organic” hair colour from a health food shop. Clairol is definitely a superior product. Show details

Follow-up  · Leaves hair shiny, silky & amazing! I stained some white floor tiles, but thankfully fixed the problem with applying bleach. If you get dye on your hands, just use nail polish remover.

  106 Natural Medium Ash Blonde

Nice colour – This is for the box now called 8A but not the newest version which has the pink flowers on the box. To begin with my hair was a light gingery brown from previous faded hair dye with my natural dark blonde regrowth. I chose the ash blonde because I wanted to get the ginger out of my hair. After dying it my hair was a very pretty dark blonde/light… Read more

brown and it looks very natural, even to the point where it does look like I’ve got blonde highlights in my hair, so like the box says it is multi-tonal and it’s a very even colour that didn’t leave my ends darker than the rest. It also covered most of my grey hair except the odd stubborn one which still looks more blended. The only negatives though is that it does have a strong chemical smell and did sting some parts of my scalp. And despite being a pretty colour, it doesn’t seem that ashy/cool so I’m almost expecting the ginger to come back. It also makes your hair really dry and brittle when you wash it out but the conditioner makes it soft and silky again without any apparent damage. Overall I would use it again because it’s a very pretty colour with highlights, covers grey, which a lot of other brands don’t seem to anymore, and my hair is still in good condition.

Very pretty colour – I’m using the newer version called 8WR and I’ve never used it before so I can’t comment if it’s different to the older version, but after reading a lot of negative reviews I was pleasantly surprised, it turned my light brown hair into a very natural looking dark copper blonde, like a caramel colour, not a scary orange I was worried about. It does… Read more

make your hair feel dry but the conditioner it comes with fixed that. I do have a few grey’s as well that I noticed didn’t get covered but that’s not a concern for me. I haven’t washed it yet so I can’t comment what it will look like after a few washes but so far I love it, it was exactly the colour I was hoping for.

EDIT: After washing my hair a couple of times the red/copper hue it had is only really visible in the sun or bright lights, otherwise it’s turned into a very pretty still and natural looking caramel blonde. I think if you wanted more red try the darker red shade which I think is called natural auburn?

  120 Natural Dark Brown

Terrible. My hair looks black, not dark brown – I’d been using the previous Clairol 120/4 dark brown to colour my grey roots for years, always with consistent warm dark brown results, complete grey coverage and minimal mess during application. When I tried the same colour 120/4 in the new and improved formulation, which was supposed to give the same results as the old 120/4 formulation, my hair… Read more

now looks noticeably BLACK and makes me look pale, harsh and older. I hate it. And was even dumb enough to try the same colour again leaving it on for 10 minute less but of course just ended up with a thicker harsh looking BLaCK stripe around my whole head. Don’t be fooled that the new formulation in the colour they recommend will give the same results as the old formulation, it doesn’t. It’ll be disappointingly much DARKER than you wanted. The new formulation colour does not provide the same coverage for gray nor does it provide the colour advertised on the box. I’m no longer a clairol customer and need to find another hair dye that matches my previous warm dark brown colour. Very disappointed in Clairol

  9A Natural Light Ash Blonde

$8 for an @ home beauty treatment – This product is regularly discounted. Why pay $20 when Priceline or Chemist Warehouse charge 50 percent less. Consider the cost of a salon treatment: $100-$150. That's hundreds of dollars saved every year. Fabulous. I've been using it for decades. Sure, the colour names changed and my hairdresser hated one of the blond products: brassy when… Read more

wearing out. Yes, the colour starts a bit darker blond on application, but it fades progressively to the colour advertised. Now, the Ash blends naturally with my greying hair. My hair is longer - past my shoulders - plenty of product to massage into the scalp and to rub into the long ends. I leave it in for 50+ minutes. The chemical doesn't leave my hair like straw and the accompanying conditioner is creamy and nourishing. I notice the roots at about 6-weeks and can make it last 8-weeks.

Over 40 years experience – I have been using this for over forty years, my hair was originally dark blonde but since dyeing and over the years it has got darker nearer to mousey brown; hence increased time of leaving on for an hour, I then use John Frieda dark purple shampoo and conditioner on subsequent washes. This cuts through any brassiness and has a lightning effect,… Read more

Wonderful – I've never tried Nice and Easy hair color. I've tried just about every other brand. I wish I would have tried it sooner. I dyed it Dark Auburn. It is the color the box shows. Definitely not a change for the better – I have used nice n easy for 35+ years. 102 natural light ash blond was fantastic! Great color, had highlights, colored the gray. When they changed the formula to a cream (9A), everything changed, and not for the better. It doesn’t cover the gray very well, no highlights, and worst of all, it is VERY brassy. “strawberry blond” hair, which was not the case with 102. The only improvement, is that it smells SLIGHTLY better. Why would one mess with such a great product. It is so disappointing. It saddens me to say this after 35 years, but I am going to have to break up with nice n easy and change to a different product.

Disappointed – Very disappointing experience. It didn't cover silver on the front, at all..... The rest is covered ok. I used Clairol a few times before and everything the color appeared slightly different than promised. Probably, this brand is cleared off my list further. Getting skimpy with amount of formula! – Just want to say that I have been using nice’ easy for many years and always had plenty of formula for my hair which is shoulder length. I would rather you make the conditioner smaller than give less hair… Read more

I’m really disappointed that the ash colour in the name was totally misleading – My medium blonde hair throws ash and hairdresser always describes my colour as light ash blonde. others with allergic reactions, if you have sensitive skin, you need to do a patch test. while it's unlucky, like most products it's usually not something wrong with the product itself but it's a personal sensitivity to an ingredient in the formulation. As for me, all I wanted to do was dye my sunbleached ends to suit the rest of the hair and the result is fantastic.

Not pleasant – This is the second time I have used this product. The colour takes to my greys but I have burning eyes for hours afterwards. I have taken antihistamine and used a cold compress to try cool them down their bloodshot. Definitely won't be using again lesson learnt should have stuck to my original brand. Buyer beware the smell of the dye itself is also so overpowering I had my exhaust running and window open. Show details
