Coles Bombay Mix

I've been waiting for Coles to make Bombay Mix after their venture into other savoury mixes and was excited to see it! While it is tasty, it has fallen short of the original snack many of us known from the 1980s due to missing one integral ingtedient that made it such a massive hit: Curry Powder (typically, Keen's Curry Powder).. Their mix contains the usual: roasted peanut, dehydrated peas, fried noodles, sultanas (albeit very sparse), chilli powder (unappetizingly mild), and the addition of soy crisps. What spices are used - vaguely listed as "bombay seasoning" and chilli powder - leave no truly fond impressions. Certainly not palatably insulting, but also not complimentary to anything.

The spice that makes Bombay Mix, "Bombay Mix", is the generic curry powder for the heat and the definitive savoury flavour and kick of present but not overwhelming heat. Adding to this: the sparsity of sultanas. Sparse enough to have me wonder if they were even included.

All in all, this is an "okay" mix, but it falls short of the original. I hope Coles updates the recipe to include the curry powder at the very least.
