The only treatment that has worked! – We have 3 cats and a 15 year old Golden Rereiver, all of which had horrible fleas over the summer. No matter what we did they wouldn't leave our pets alone. We tried Revolution, Advantage, baths, dusts, the lot! And nothing! Finally our vet recommended Comfortis. Yes, it is expensive! We could have gone out for a nice meal instead.. Ha! But I never imagined these results. Within 30 mins the fleas started dropping off. Our pets were all agitated! Scratching and Running around, as I imagine the fleas were uncomfortably dying!
Over the course of the evening the cats all settled and slept on our bed with us. Which is unusual.. But I guess they were feeling a little strange and needed comforting. Our sheets became a crime scene in the morning. Dead fleas all over! The best thing to wake up to. Honestly!!
Comfortis cleared up our dog and 3 cats within a day. Following treatments were just as effective! So far 3 months clear.. Very happy!
Killed my cat – My cat started having seizures and eventually killed him at 2yrs old. I didn't realise until after and heard something about it and started researching and completing shocked how they can even sell this product. Show details
Killed my cat. DO NOT USE – I gave a small amount of one of the pills to my cat, which was well under the weight limit. By later that day he had stopped eating. We went to the vet and they thought it was simply constipation caused by dehydration from the fleas. Went home with an oral laxative. Later that week he was dead with signs of liver and kidney failure. Spinosad, the… Read more
active ingredient (which is a pesticide) should not be ingested by humans or animals. It kills the fleas because it is poison. Do NOT give this to your animals you are essentially poisoning them.
Caused neurological issues in kitty – I have two animals, both received their treatment on the same day. One had no issues the other began falling, unable to hold himself up, his back end seemed to have partial paralysis. He continues to have trouble walking, he shakes, his head "wobbles". He doesn't appear to be in pain but after thousands of dollars at the vet, x-rays, blood work, etc The only thing that changed was Comfortis. I do not recommend this product. Show details

The only thing that works! – I bought one 6 pack for my dog and 2 cats. There was a sale on and I got the product for $70 which I thought was well priced. I have used Frontline and Advantage in the past, and over the last 3 months have noticed an increase in fleas despite frequent spot on treatments. I was nervous to use Comfortis because of some reviews, but I am so glad I… Read more
did. My dog ate the tablet without hesitation and then ate a big bowl of dry food and mince, my cats wouldn't eat it without being mixed with food. I noticed fleas dying within half and hour. Within an hour all three animals were fine. After 2 hours I would say all of the fleas on my dog were dead or dying. She was fine and still playful with her tail wagging. The cats began itching like crazy after around 3 hours. I think the fleas were biting more as they were dying. They were locked in the bathroom and though I didn't notice as many dead fleas on them, I think they were cleaning them off. Once treated I washed the pets, flea bombed my entire house and hot washed and dried every soft fabric. Pets are fine, fleas are gone. I am a total convert and love this product. It really works like magic.
Works wonderful – When I had a kennel, I had 20 dogs and used this, never had a problem. Never gave it to my cats. Now, I have 5 dogs, 8 to 14 lbs. I buy the Comfortis for 20 lbs dogs and split them in half or quarters depending on the dog, it saves money and with the 6 pack it gives me enough to give them twice a year. The fleas begin to fall off dead with in 1/2… Read more
hour. I have never had any of my dogs react badly to Comfortis. I give them their first dose in spring first sign of fleas, then I give a second dose in fall first sign of fleas. Never, once every month. Yes, only twice a year. We never have fleas. Maybe we don't have fleas bad anyway, I don't know but we lived on a ranch with the 20 dogs and now at the beach with only 5, same results. Now, my dogs are Volpino's, it's an Italian breed, they don't dog stink, basically they just need to be brushed now and then, so I don't have to bath often unless they get into something. I think many of you are overdosing. I get a prescription from my vet, my online provider faxes my Vet for approval, it's sent to me in the mail. I pay about $70., at the Vet it's about $100.
This is a dangerous drug...don't take the risk – The night i gave my cat comfortis she instantly became very quiet and lethargic. After a while i thought I'd pick her up and stood her on the floor only to find her back legs had gone. I then panicked and called the vet unfortunately it was after hrs so i had to drive 1/2 hr away to reach the emergency vet. The long and short of it is the vet… Read more
said no it would not b the comfortis causing her problems therefore proceeded to treat her for a tick shaving her which put her into a frenzy (to say the least) and terrified her...they found no tick so they then suggested it could b a snake bite? All along I'm still questioning the fact that i felt it would be the comfortis but continually this idea was dismissed by the vet. Therefore they carried thru with the snake venom detection kit (which i felt was probably unnecessary) but thinking these guys a vet he should know what he is doing. So this alone was a cost of $400 to find it a negative result.
So all up my bill was $976! I am now appealing to be compensated but it is being dragged out and i really don't know what i will receive for this huge mistake let alone the suffering my cat went thru and still one week later is definitely not her old playful self.
I wish id NEVER used Comfortis...especially after reading so many bad reviews!
I just hope that my cat comes good and back to her old self again.

Believer! – My dog and 3 cats (and my apartment) were infested with fleas. This even though I had been using the spot treatment once a month. I made an appointment with exterminator and the night before he came I gave all 4 animals Comfortis. The difference was amazing! My part Siamese cat had developed sores from scratching - she is completely healed. It wasn’t fun giving the cats the pills but it was well worth it! Show details
Best tablet ever – Don’t know how this gets such bad reviews . This tablet is awesome . Works so friggin fast and my cat Lionel is flea free so bloody quickly . When he had fleas he’s constantly wet with all the washing , after his treatment he’s back me dry and can actually sleep. Don’t foot around with the tablet. Cut into 3 and shove down their throat
Great product- does the job fast – I was recommended a scaled-down dose of Comfortis by a holistic pet practitioner, for my extremely flea infested and agitated golden retriever pup. it worked in 1 hour and has provided amazing relief to our girl. Side effects include joy, relief, sleep, and comfort as the brand name suggests. While I still hate using poisons on my dog, I couldn't… Read more
watch her distress any longer, and I think a scaled down dose will give you all the benefits without possible negative side effects. I highly recommend Comfortis (in a scaled down dose).

KILLED MY BELOVED CAT!! – Just three days ago, I gave my cat the second round of this medication, exactly a month to the date. 4 hours later she is contorting on the floor, unable to breath and died within minutes in the car on the way to the emergency vet. I am heartbroken and distraught. Our family has been torn apart by this 100% preventable tragedy. Please, trust the… Read more
reviews and do not buy this product. Do not risk their lives. I will forever regret and hate myself for making her take something I thought was going to help but instead ended her life.
Thought our dog was going to die!! – About 4 hrs after giving our dog a dose he became lethargic and the third eye was coming down on his eyes. He could only walk slowly and just stared into space! Luckily after a few hours he has improved but we were extremely worried and had no doubt that this product caused this! Show details
Product works but not for my kitty – This product works to eradicate fleas and my cat Loves the smell of the product but on a full tummy, he wants water immediately after consuming it and vomits 24 hours after administering the tablet and will do so for 3 days straight and be very ginger and sooky. He suffers from feline paresthesia and during these days it is more pronounced like… Read more
the Comfortis affects his central nervous system. I won’t administer again. It’s one of the only products on the market that works for him but makes him so ill. I can’t touch him during this phase because his nerves are hypersensitive and he bites unless I am super super gentle.

almost killed my cats – I read the directions very well, fed my cats gave them the medication for fleas, its smells awful , and one cat could not breath rushed, the other was vomiting worst , stuff not well tolerated in cats at all, thankfully the vet gave my one very sick cat IV meds , the other cat was just vomiting and did not stop for like 4 hours, but the other cat had to stay on anti histamines for over a week, I am lucky he lived :(
No good – Treated 3 dogs, each after a meal. Within 1 hr, all 3 were puking all over the house. Now, I'm worried about other effects, plus seeing $66.00 spewed all over the floor.
How did they get it so wrong – My dog has always had a problem with being itchy, however Panoramis was brilliant and controlled this very, very well. Then it had a name change, while bizarrely supposedly bring the same formula, but my dog isn't getting anywhere near the same relief. Really unhappy, this stuff is controlling fleas , but absolutely not controlling the general… Read more
itching she has had since she was s puppy. Far as I'm concerned they've changed the formula to save money and given us an inferior product. On eBay original Panoramis is selling for $300 plus, proof that people are seeking out the original product.
Avoid this product...made my dog sick – We treated our 8 year old mini schnauzer with this product with his evening meal. The next morning he had blood in his stools. The Vet suggested to observe him as he was still active and eating. He had blood in his stools for 2 days then thankfully back to normal. I won’t risk using this again it was very worrying to see that blood.
Do not administer to cats – Our first two male rescue cats refused to eat these pills, even when hidden in food. Tried forcing it and I'm sure it resulted in one developing kidney and urethral issues and he had to be put down. Or other 2 rescue females will eat anything but one got very bloated on this medication and vomited a lot. She's now not eating very much at all. Damn you elanco. This product should be recalled.
Best product Ive ever used – Within 10 minutes the fleas were dead or almost. I love Comfortis. It was easy to treat my dog and it lasts the full 30 days. We had no side effects. I cant say anything negative. Excellent product. Thank you.
Dont use it – I used it for first time on my 13 year old and cat and he has been vomiting every since. Kitten is okay, he is 1.5 years old but after reading comments some cats have died would never use this product again
Dachshund had seizures within 36 hours of taking comfortis – My 9 year old dachshund suffered gran mal seizures over 2 days within 24 - 36 hours of taking Comfortis. This was surprising since she had previously taken Comfortis without incident, Nonetheless I firmly believe that the Comfortis caused the seizures. For instance, there could be a cumulative effect of this medication. The condition was only… Read more
stopped with proper emergency treatment, (IV Valium and Phenobarbital) and ongoing medication. Thankfully, she has not suffered another seizure since the initial onset 3 weeks ago during which she has been receiving daily phenobarbital medication, which she may have to take for her lifetime. Additionally, she has never had seizures before in her lifetime. Consequently it is very probable that the seizures were a side effect of the Comfortis pills. The question is: Does the benefit of killing fleas outweigh the potential risk of seizures and other serious side effects? I think not! Needless to say I will not use this or any other internal flea medication on my animals.
Do not use – We gave Comfortis to our 8 year old, 14 pound cat. Within four hours she was dead. Do not give this product to your cat until you do your own research. This product is killing cats. I am sorry, Lilly. So sorry

Has worked well for years – I have been using Comfortis for over 7 years on my 11 year old schnoodle after my trusted vet recommended them. He has never had any problems or side effects. We had a major flea problem that would not go away. It was so bad at one stage that his stomach was covered with fleas and we were getting bitten as well. I tried other flea treatments that just didn't work. I have never seen a flea on him in 7 years.
Great on Dogs but don't use on cats – I use it on my older cavaliers that I don't use for breeding, found it to be good but don't like products they have to digest but with nothing else working i have had to use it, would never use on my cat.
Comfortis Killed our 1 year old Siberian Cat – Our 1yr old Siberian cat was an indoor cat. She ate high quality food & was very healthy. She was finally at a good weight for flea medicine. Our vet suggested Comforts but never told us that it could Kill or harm cats. She was healthy before we gave her the pill & then she started throwing up little white spots. Then with in about 4 days she went… Read more
down hill & on day 5 she started throwing up and pooping hunter green liquid (bile is what we were told) and either had a stroke or seizure. The vet said she was in organ failure & couldn't save her. A $400 vet bill and a $1200 dead cat is what we got out of all of this. My husband and 4 year old son are divested and we have no answers from our vet or the manufacturers of Comfortis. I wish I would have known the risks before i gave her that pill bc if I hadn't she would still be here! They dont see anything wrong with the pill bc only some dogs/cats die but bc not all cats/ dogs die its still safe enough to continue selling it. I hope this helps so you dont have to lose a furry family member!
i did think it was ok! – I used this product on my 4 Jacks for the first time & they had no reaction to it at all! The dogs chewed it up in their meal quite freely! They stopped scratching after two days it was administered! Two weeks later I have found them scratching again!
Works for fleas but difficult to administer – I have been using this on my dog for around two years as previous product no longer was working. Very happy with it, keeps the dog free of fleas. Never an issue while he is on it. But.. the tablet is large and he certainly would never take it. The smell of it is revolting, smells like insecticide to me. I do worry what it is doing to him if it… Read more
smells so bad. But he suffers terrible allergies from flea bites and ends up with a mange infection. So I have to prevent fleabites for him at all costs.
Nonetheless if I crush it and put it with canned tuna he takes it then.
It worked! – My two cats had been suffering from fleas for the last 3 months. I had tried multiple different brands/products, flea bombed the house multiple times, steam cleaned, vacuumed daily, washed clothing/linen/cat beds with no improvement what so ever. It was so bad that I was also being bitten daily by the fleas! I spoke to my local vet and she… Read more
recommended trying Comfortis tablets.
After 1 hour of giving the tablets to my cats they became very irritated and itchy (this is normal). Just days later and I could not be happier! No more fleas :D :D :D and I am no longer covered in flea bites! Can't recommend this product high enough! Thank you!
CAT is very ill – After taking comfortis, my cat get really ill. She doesn't want to eat or drink. After 4 days she still doesn't want to eat anything. The fed count find nothing wrong. But after 1 week she is still ill, and she got pancreatitis. I don't know if she gonna make it. Everyday I have to go to the fed voor medication.
1 week later she died :( At the same time i tested her brothers blood for pancreatitis, and unfortunate he also got is....
Comfortis killed my cat – Would you call the death of my cat within three hours after taking one tablet a side effect? Product killed him before it had time to kill the fleas. First review I read here is about this product killing someone's dog. My condolences Rusty, same thing happened again. Really wish I'd seen this earlier. There are general warnings (keep out of reach… Read more
of children) on the box, but nothing as specific as "usage may cause the death of your animal" or whatever. If just one animal has died there should be a warning prominently displayed on this product, not a useless picture of some smiling kid, whose image actually connotes the opposite of danger. Why is there a warning a cigarette pack? Because usage may kill you. Similarly, a warning should appear in an equally prominent fashion on a veterinary product that has the potential to kill an animal. I've not been able to make an informed decision here, really. Nobody told me this product was dangerous. It needs to be labelled accordingly at the very least.
My cats hate the taste – I got comfortis from our humane society. They recommended it highly. I tried several disguises after the cats at first refused the tablets, but to no avail. I even ground one up and mixed it with delicious lamb aspic, and still they wouldn't eat it. If I knew how to administer the stuff, the review might be better.
Lasted a little over two weeks! – I gave each of my 3 dogs their first Comfortis about 2 weeks ago and already the results are wearing off! For $100 per 6 month dose it was not worth it. There are adult live flea's on them which leads me to believe that it's not helping with breaking the life cycle.
Not suitable for all cats – My cat's reaction to the product was quite alarming. She became lethargic and withdrawn once we administered the tablet with her meal. After about two hours she perked up. We discovered to our dismay that she aspirated her entire daily meal. She had never done that before. On occasion she will have coughed up a hairball or something small that… Read more
interfered with her digestion. But nothing like this.
Elanco, the distributor for Comfortis, refused to refund the product. However, the retailer, PetBarn, was willing to do so and exchange back to Revolution.
I have heard good, bad and very bad (read: alarming) reports on this product. My advice would be to try a single dose. Monitor the cat's behaviour very closely, if you observe that she is reacting poorly to the product, discontinue and seek a refund. If, however, the cat is not adversely affected than you are on to a good wicket.
Doesn't work – I paid $32 for a single tablet and my dog still has fleas! Show details
I like it works well – I like it for my dogs it works well I have two 12 year old dogs Iv been using comfort
