Disappointed with reliability – Worked ok to cool bedroom even in QLD summer. Just out of warranty and it has stopped cooling. So disappointed. Fans, controls, and remote control work properly, but doesn't cool anymore. Show details

Excellent coolness – It has been the hottest summer in history in Perth West Australia. This air conditioner has got me through like 10 over 40 degree days. Without it i would have ha to go to shopping centre fir coolness. Show details ·  1

Con air Supercool CP12CW3? Review – We have a queen size bedroom and I would not recommend this as a great air conditioner. It does cool the room down but more like a fan less like a air conditioner. I haven’t been satisfied with this and it is very loud blowing air. It sometimes leaks after a while of using it.  Show details

Works well but noisy – We use this in our main bedroom (fairly large room) and the cooling performance is good. Easy to install and clean. The remote control storage is very handy as I can easily hide the remote from my curious toddler. The unit, though, is very loud that I am struggling to sleep while it is on.  Show details

Perfect portable air con – I'm very satisfied with the cooling capacity, during the warmer days in QLD this unit keeps the room cold and comfortable enough to sleep in. It's reasonably quiet, very lightweight and easy to set up and operate. I'm very impressed overall, would definitely recommend this product to others and would purchase again if a need for a second unit was to arise.  Show details

Great Air Conditioner for up to medium sized room – We have had this air conditioner just over a year now, and during the hot Brisbane summer last year, it was getting used almost every day. The room it was getting used in was roughly 3.5m x 3.5m and caught the hot afternoon sun through both windows and bricks on the outside of the home, and this unit was able to cool the room down fairly quickly… Read more

once the sun went down. On some hotter days, while the sun was still up, it struggled to keep the room cool, even when set to the highest fan setting and the temp was set to 18C on it. It would get the room down to around 27C or 26C but couldn't get down past that. Still better than the 32C+ that it was outside though.

It claims to be a 3.5kW air conditioner, but its definitely nowhere near the same as a 3.5kW split system would be with its cooling ability for a room. We have tried using it in our lounge room, which is on the eastern side of the house, and it takes the edge off the heat in that room, but doesn't completely cool the room, but that room is a lounge, dining, and kitchen space, so I'm not too surprised about that. We also tried it in my office, which is a room about 2.5m x 2.5m, and it cooled it very well. Exceptionally well actually.

It has an energy saving mode which will switch the entire device into standby when it reaches the desired temperature in the room, which includes turning the fan off as well, and once it gets above that temp again, it'll turn back on. Great if you are just trying to keep a room cool and don't need it running all the time.

As for noise, its pretty noisy. The compressor in it is quiet, like really quiet, but the fan in it is what makes the most noise. I am a fairly light sleeper, but i can get to sleep with it running, provided we don't have it set to energy saving mode and it stays on the same fan setting while we sleep or until the timer turns it off. I don't notice the compressor kicking on or turning off while i'm sleeping.

Electricity usage-wise, it was actually not too bad. Better than i expected anyway. Our first quarter bill was only about $50 more than the same period in the year prior to us owning it, and it got a fairly frequent use across that billing period.

Overall, its a great unit.. Its a bit noisy, but given its a portable unit, you kind of expect that. The fan in it could have been designed to be quieter i think. It cools down the bedrooms in our rental well enough which is all we want it to do.
