It’s a toaster and cooks good toast all over, which my old clunker stopped doing , so I am pretty happy with this one because it was a great price with a little bit of discount through Myer sales. Takes a descent size bit of bread in thickness and height which is also great. The toaster has three buttons to use to CANCEL TOASTING, DEFROST, REHEAT. I use these because I often have bread in the freezer if no one around to eat a fresh loaf or artisan bread so take out the slices I need and use defrost button. I don’t think you need to pay big bucks for a descent working toaster because they pretty well all have the same inside. My last one was cheap as chips and lasted ten years so I am hoping for the same miracle here. I think this one comes in four slice as well for not much more. I bought this at a recent Myer sale for around $42
