Was Fantastic now ordinary – I purchased this camera a few years ago and I loved it !! It hd good picture quality and was fairly easy to set up . The reason I was drawn to this camera it was able to send push notifications through the APP AND also could send an image when motion /sound detected to my email address. This was the reason I chose the camera - I used it to check on my cat when I was away for the day, I could check my emails and see an email with images attached showing my cat had accessed her food bowl. This was also handy as I was concerned that perhaps a stray cat had been accessing my property . I didnt want to be bothered in the middle of the night but was very happy to access the next morning for peace of mind .

Things changed this year - I no longer received email messages with pics attached ;[

I tried through the dlink website to trouble shoot to no avail

Then I sent D Link a message they were quick with response - my updated MAC coputer could not now access the dlink portal - I tried every thing they suggested - installing outdated firefox apps and trying to install the plug ins they sent me nothing worked !!!

I rang their help centre today the contact was very very helpful. He tried really hard but he said the problem was that flash player had been deactivated and because that was how the camera settings was accessed I could not change the camera settings ,??? double dutch to me but basically how the camera used to work due to upgrade functionality was now down graded

I am at a loss to see how something I purchased because of its functionality can then have its functionality downgraded and made obsolete. All is not lost my help centre contact really tried to help to reconfigure the settings on my camera but this required me disclosing email password something I was uncomfortable to provide ,

Summary something that works when you buy it nay be rendered obsolete for no reason!!

Purchased at JB Hi-Fi.

A mixed bag over the previous version – First, the positive. The introduction of encrypted streams is great as they are essentially to securing the camera. The addition of person detection is also a useful feature as it allowed you to quickly discriminate between simple movements and people in your house. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. Compared to the first version, this is an extremely unstable product. Around half of the time, the camera loses its stream, and it can’t be fixed without returning home to the camera and manually resetting it. Also, D-Link have just replaced the old app with a truly awful design that is difficult to setup and cumbersome to use. I have been setting up the cameras in the new app for two days and have yet to get it to work properly.

I once raved about these little cameras, but at this moment, I can’t even recommend them. I’m considering replacing all of mine with a different brand — that’s how bad it is.

Edit: Updates have greatly improved this product. I no longer experience stream dropouts, and the app has grown on me a little. The LED control doesn’t work still, and there is still unacceptably little granularity in the controls thanks to the “scenes” idea, but it’s OK.

Great motion detecting camera and easy to set up – This camera is a must-have for anyone that is paranoid about home security (as I am). Incredibly easy to set up and affordable (around $129). Excellent motion sensor and with the app, you can receive notifications to your smartphone and playback video at the time a motion is detected. I love it so much that I bought more.
