its a scam – my laptop is the dell g 5 5500 2070maxq variant. and it performs worse then my 1060 desktop. fps drops in Minecraft of all games. average fps other more demanding titles are not even remotely playable. tried every fix to get the laptop to perform better but even without thermal throttling the laptop still performs terribly. has frozen on multiple… Read more
occasions when i really didn't need it. they 2070 in this laptop is the most useless addition as well a 144hz display. all round bad time with this pile of junk. pls don't buy.
Great value laptop, cheap for what it's got – It's is a heavy laptop, but I'm sure portability is not a key concern for those who buy a gaming laptop (even though an entry level one). The specs are great for the price you pay. Good temperature control, though it can get loud at times. Considering the price, this trumps all of minor things! Very happy with the purchase. Good all rounder but has annoying issues – Dell G3 15", I5 9300H cpu + gtx1650 graphics. Specs looked great on paper but machine ran like a turtle on arrival. machine defaulted all apps to run intel graphics, hours updating drivers. Then forced it to run on GTX1650 graphics, now its ok. The Bad Runs hot, even when lid closed in sleep mode. is warm before starting first thing in… Read more
morning. Now i leave in hibernate mode. I have changed default fan setting to "Cool profile " as its hot on my lap just browsing or watching videos. The key board is very hard to read with blue text on black key, mine is not backlit. i wear glasses and its very hard to read in low light. I bought a silicone keyboard cover with white on black keys, its easy to read now, thinking of getting a new keyboard from ali but warranty is an issue. I Find the mouse buttons and power button very stiff, maybe just my unit. Its heavy, dont think about it if using for portable / travel /school unless you have a strong shoulder. Lastly (this is nit picking) There is a lovely blue led on end of power adapter, which is like a light house when the lights are off. The Good Good value for money when its running correctly, little bit slower than rivals with same specs. Feels solidly built. Good on site warranty (have had to use to fix another Dell, was repaired in 24 hours). Would i recommend maybe if your tight for cash. spend a hundred extra, get a cooler running, lighter machine. This a dell refurbished machine that's why it was $1000 delivered
Awesome entry level computer – Simple Up to date Great specs Happy with my purchase and would recommend as an entry level pc for all purposes. Only issue It's the, blue keyboard lighting makes it hard to work with during night time. Show details
Not perfect, overheats alot – I bought the laptop, Dell G3 2 months ago. Firstly, blue keyboard lighting makes it hard to work with during night time. Laptop overheats when you put games on and missing proper air intake and outlets on the laptop, makes it hot enough that you can't put it on your lap. I am not happy with my purchase. Show details
I bought this Dell gaming notebook, for VR gaming – This Dell was bought on sale from JB Hi FI, and has very little competition at it's price point. The only comparable laptop is the HP OMEN. It clearly is vastly more powerful than the Dell G5, or Dell G3. This laptop supports running Ancestry, emails and photo editing, the bulk of the "work" it's required to do. This PC runs Windows Mixed… Read more
Reality WELL.. it's only a 1060GTX graphics, but it's sufficient, considering this laptop is easily found under $2000.
This Laptop is VERY heavy, if weight is a concern, this is not a device for you.
The fan runs hard on heavy graphic loads.. so it's running hot and loud with the VR going.
