The operating system is Windows XP which is easy enough for the very beginner to learn to those who are more advanced with their computer skills. It is an attractive computer with a sleek look and elegant shape. The AC adaptor heated up very quickly and the cord eventually broke off (3 years of use)at the main connection to the computer. Silver coating wore off panels quickly.

Comes with Micro soft windows. works straight out of the box. Reasonable warranty period. No hassles to purchase either by phone or online from Dell. Delivery is also very quick. Quality product from Dell and is very reasonably overpriced. batterlife on standard battery could always be longer.

After almost a year i have had no problems with my laptop. It is good for gaming, with amazing sound and plenty of power. So far it has run every game I have tried with no problems. Overall I would not trade my laptop for any other, and must rate this a 5 star buy. Great value, versatile, reliable, can be customised and upgraded when buying. I have seen better color on other laptops

with the broadband dropping out and they were very patient and helpful and it turned out that the problem was with interference to the router. I don't have a bad word to say about my lap top and it's performance for the price has been fantastic. Fantastic product and service from Dell for someone who new nothing about purchasing a lap top and what components are needed.

easier to endure and I can honestly say I've had no problem in area in the 12 months that I've owned the Inspiron 6400. Pretty good considering i use it for an average of 6-8 hours a day, every day. Handles serious multitasking with ease. Good battery life. Tech Support was not good.
