Dell UltraSharp U2410 / U2410W

OK – I received this monitor as a replacement for my Dell 2408WFP which failed and was still under warranty. The design of the monitor is very visually appealing. The base is heavy and sturdy and there are ample adjustments available to get the monitor in the optimum position. The panel used in the monitor is IPS and produces fantastic colours. Unfortunately the filter used on the panel can cause colour distortion and the unit I have experiences this. The bottom half of the screen has a red tint and the top half a green tint. This makes the screen useless if you need uniform colour reproduction across the whole screen. Dell should replace any monitors that have this issue.
The menu system on the monitor is very intuitive. There are plenty of inputs on the monitor including HDMI which is mandatory I would argue. The card reader in the monitor is up to date and reads all of my cards (unlike the older monitor). There are also four USB ports in the monitor which are very handy. The monitor takes a very long time to detect any signal which is a disappointment. Visually appealing design. Great colours. Lots of inputs. Colour tinting/distortion is an issue with this model and should be replaced by Dell if any units experience this.
