Dell UltraSharp U2515H

Great high-resolution monitor – The Good. Selected this product as it among the few doing 2560x1440 which is the same resolution as my 15" MBP. Good price, perfect performance. Comes with mini-DP cable which plugs directly into most modern compact notebooks, including MBP. Has a built in USB hub to assist my connectivity-challenged MBP. The Bad. The menu with its "touch" buttons is hard to use, the buttons are only marked by low contrast symbols on the black bezel making finding the right one trial and error.
Overall very happy with this product.

Panel is good but connectivity issues – I have ordered the monitor for work, since it has such nice resolution and is not oversized (my desk is 75cm deep). My goal was to run it at 125% scaling as required for my built-in laptop panel (fullHD 14 inch). Using Windows 7 hence same scaling factor for all. I was very happy with the panel quality but it did not have consistent stability. The monitor came with a DP-mDP cable and at first I inserted mDP end into monitor and DP into my Lenovo Pro Dock *the real one*. Worked for 30 min then started "blinking"- off for few seconds then on for few and again... randomly... menu is locked during the blink, even the power button. No amount of unplugging, re-plugging, powering up and down, resetting helped. Tried another computer (hp) without a dock, same issue. Left it off overnight.
Next day I reversed the cable, DP going into the monitor and mDP into Lenovo's built-in port on the side. Was happy for some minutes but then same 'blinkenlights' started. All this seemed either a cable or firmware issue to me. Lenovo and hp work fine with other DP-based monitors.
Since I waited 3 weeks for delivery, I cannot wait any longer and still risk losing more time and eventually returning the item. Back to Dell it will go... poor quality control, but could be something trivial like the supplied cable...no time to troubleshoot any longer. I'd be happy to hear from other buyers on their experience.
