This is very smart looking kettle which looks lovely on your kitchen benchtop, but there are a few things that stop me from giving it 5 stars: 1. Taking the lid on and off to fill the kettle is a little awkward 2. It's hard to see the water level indicator when you are filling the kettle 3. It's a bit noisy Otherwise it pours beautifully without any dribbles and boils fairly quickly. Show details
Review on Kettle-electric- DeLonghi: Just seen DeLonghi electric kettle similar to the one I bought from David Jones/ Myer in Castle Tower a while back and I strongly feel that I must write this review to WARN others about DeLonghi electric kettle even though I don’t usually do reviews on products because it’s time-consuming !!! After I bought… Read more
this DeLonghi electric kettle for my family of two to use in the morning for hot water to make coffees as well as for making teas at night daily, we have noticed the orange parts surfaces which joined to the silver metal parts starting peeling off gradually after 3 months!!! We have never bought this brand before and I can assure you we WILL NEVER EVER touch this brand again!!! It’s a waste of money!!! I have bought cheaper brands such as Kmart brand electric kettle, Russell Hobbs, Breville, Sunbeam and also others ( can’t remember) since 1974!!!! I have never encountered this enamel peeling off around the joining areas before! The most those electric kettle did was not boiling water so I went out and purchased a new one. From memory, each of the brand last me for lots of years before they stop working! I have bought Russell Hobbs electric kettle to replace this DeLonghi electric kettle when it started to leak water all over the bench when I picked it up after it boiled!!! I have kept this DeLonghi electric kettle at home so that I can show my relatives and friends to WARN them NEVER PURCHASE DeLonghi brand of any electrical products as it’s a SAFETY HAZARD !!!! My brother bought this as a birthday gift for me in 2022. It definitely looks great on my bench, like it's a very attractive appliance. It served its purpose for most of the last three years, it was quick to boil but very very loud. But in the last week, it's begun leaking from the area you view the water level. I know I've had it 3+ years now, but I really would have expected better from a more up market brand.
This kettle has paint bubbling off it in two big spots, I contacted Delonghi and they requested photos receipts and serial number I sent all of this and they said Sorry we won't replace this as it is purely cosmetic and the kettle works. This is… Read more
disgraceful the kettle cost me around $150 and I bought it because of the lovely yellow colour Wow it is now a mess and peeling as obviously the paint is not properly heat proof. I will NEVER buy another DELONGHI product purel based on their service and tricky and sneaky ways of dealing with problems that they should be fixing.
Follow-up · Shocking service refused to admit fault actually told me the cosmetic doesn’t effect the performance so too bad.

Metallic taste – Very metallic taste even after doing numerous vinegar washes. Was left for periods of time without use but never had an issue with other makes and models.
I’ve been trying to receive a refund since April last year.
Not Value for Money – I bought this kettle with a toaster as a set from Harris Scarfe in 2020. I liked it because of the colour. It has lasted about 4.5 years before it started leaking from the water viewer and on/off lever onto the base (thanks to its design). I know we live in a hard water area and it can mean cleaning the kettle from calcium build up which but this… Read more
was excessive. It was also quite loud when boiling. We would probably boil the kettle on average, three times a day. I don't think this kettle is value for money at all. It is meant to be a better brand but I have had cheap kettles do a better job and last longer. Wouldn't buy it again.

Paint is bubbling – I’ve only had this kettle for a few months and the paint is bubbling in 2 places. After back and forth with Delonghi I received an appalling response (see attached). $120 kettle and it’s apparently just bad luck for me. Not wanting to replace my kettle makes me think that perhaps they’ve had many of these complaints (a quick google search confirms… Read more
this) and they would lose too much money replacing them all - shouldn’t be the consumers problem though. I’ve contacted the ACCC and consumer affairs who both agreed that DeLonghi are required by law to offer a repair or replacement.
Edit: after back and forth with DeLonghi for the past 6 weeks where they did this bizarre thing of requesting pictures and then basically replying ‘replacement denied’ then after I continued to argue my point they requested the serial number and sent me to a repair place for the item to be assessed for a ‘REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT’ where the man asked ‘what would you like me to do, we repair electronics not bubbling paint’ and after explaining this to DeLonghi they once again replied ‘replacement denied’ then after more arguing they requested more pictures (the bubbling is even worse now) then they responded once again with ‘replacement denied’. Anywho as the kettle was purchased through flybuys they have thankfully agreed to replace it. This will definitely be my last DeLonghi purchase ever!
Expensive - but is it worth the money? – This kettle was purchased to replace a Sunbeam kettle which we had to throw out as the handle fell off. It was just over two years old, and we did not want another Sunbeam product. We were looking for a solid kettle and this one certainly is however it in my opinion it is very heavy. 960gm empty and 2.66kg when filled to its maximum level.… Read more
Again, in my opinion it is slow to boil. Filling it to the maximum recommended level with cold tap water, it takes five and a half minutes to boil. This kettle was purchased from Myer. It was on sale reduced from $179 to $149 and it only has a one-year warranty. You could purchase a similar capacity kettle from Kmart for $15 with a 4.8 review rating from 441 reviews.
Simple kettle but looks great and very happy with it – Bought this to replace another kettle that used the flip up lid system that no longer flipped up. Spent far more than i wanted for a kettle but kettles with removeable lids are hard to find of this quality. So far we have been very happy. Takes a little while to boil when fall but it is very quiet. The quietness is what I like best. At first i… Read more · 1
thought the water could have been boiled a bit hotter but now i am not so sure as after having this kettle for about 5 months it seems fine now. Our last kettle from a quality company lasted only a few months but this one looks like it will last a lifetime. Very happy with it
Steamy Style – This is my second Delonghi Kettle. I purchased a new one because I dropped the last one and dented the metal. It’s still working perfectly but I’ve given it to my daughter and bought this new beauty! Show details
Looks good, but leaks – Looks nice, but spout leaks and drip water all over the bench, probably a good few spoonful's for every up you fill. Tried to contact DeLonghi warranty via their website but have been ignored and nil response from them. So looks nice, boils water, but don't get it as the dripping is very annoying, and don't expect a response from DeLonghi if there are any issues Show details
