Dewalt DCMW564N Cordless Mower Questions & Answers

There are a few safety switches that need to be right for it to work. The first is a yellow key in the push Handle. If it’s not in right the mower won’t start. The second is a switch at the base next to the right metal rod of the handle bar, mine gets stuck in when I pack it down to store. That needs to be fully out to work.

If one battery is flat, it will not work. I think dewalt advises that both batteries are the same size IE 4A, and both fully charged. However I sometimes find I only have a 6A and a 5A fully charged when I want to mow and it works fine.

To start if all switches are good, and batteries are good, you need to first press in the yellow tab on the handle, the pull back on the throttle bar (while the yellow tab is being pressed in) Once the mower has started you can then release the tab, but you must hold in the throttle bar for it to run. I love my Dewalt mower, very happy, and maybe been a bit lucky if others are having issues. Hope this helps

If Ryan’s suggestions don’t solve the problem, there could be some kind of internal fault that you don’t have access to. I know this happened to mine, though it was after several mowing sessions. The mower stopped and couldn’t be restarted, even after checking all the usual things. If you can’t troubleshoot a solution, I would suggest simply returning it under warranty to be repaired (that’s what I did).

It uses two batteries , easily 45 min. It is very robust (ie:heavy and heavy duty). But my mower stopped working after 3 weks and i returned it. Very unusual for deWalt.

I have a large corner block and it does it easy. never had any issues
