Rented a vehicle from this app twice, poor service
Car RenterThe first time renting a vehicle for a day, the gas tank was emptied and the light was on before I started to drive. GREAT.
The second time to rent a vehicle again, the owner cancelled my book at the last minute. And customer service replied me nothing I can do about it, can even leave a review for the owner. VERY HELPFUL.
Worst customer experience ever!! Don't do it.
Car RenterI should first state that I love the concept of renting from people who offer their own vehicles. I travel a lot and have been using Turo for years and wanted this to be a similar service. It is not. Please know that DriveMyCar.com is NOT a customer-focused service. They want your money and care less about the service. DriveMyCar.com asked for more personal and financial details than I've been asked for when applying for home loans and the company promised that it was necessary for the vetting process. After sending my information I heard nothing and had to follow up the contact person over and over again over a period of four months. FOUR MONTHS!! The contact person was RG Milana. Finally I got a definitive response which was that the vehicle I had booked four months ago was no longer available. What a load of rubbish. This business model does not deserve to survive. I caution anyone thinking of trying it.Something is wrong with the process
Car Renter• Needed to rent a car for two weeks.
• Used the web site to locate a suitable vehicle and found one which was listed as "Available Now"
• Used the web site to book the car
• Waited for a response.
• Discover that they "ask all owners to respond within 48 hours" but it turns out that they can't enforce that.
• I would have thought that "available" means "available" and so wonder why they had to check with the owner. Don't the owners have to keep the web site details up-to-date?
• Eventually get an email from a "Sales Associate" telling us that the vehicle is not available for our dates.
• Email includes a link and the advice to "check other options on this link".
• Follow the link.
• Same car is still listed as "Available Now".
Not bookable! - Twice!
Car RenterTried to make a booking a couple of months ago. It was fairly last minute (booking required within a week), no response from the owner, advised by drive my car to book with another - so went with GoGet slightly more expensive but very convenient. Two days before booking advised car is available - told them I had already booked an alternative.
Tail end of last week decided to give DriveMyCar another go. Placed an order for a booking for 3 weeks at the end of Dec. car was showing as available. Owner rejected and advised they want to me book clo

Car RenterI applied for a rental car on July 11 2022; I emailed through my drivers license and passport as requested and completed the online booking form (attaching again my drivers license and passport). After two weeks of no response I emailed to ask if the car was available; the response was an email requesting my drivers license and passport again, which I sent, again. ... Read more an email informing me that my identity verification was unsuccessful. I spoke to the rental associate who handled my application who simply apologised but provided no solution. I spoke to the supervisor who apologised, asked for a third email address for verification, and said he'd get back to me. I offered other identity verification of government payslips and a bank statement, however, these were rebuffed. At this stage I now don't have a car and it's too late to book another because it's taken them 3 weeks to process two documents. Overall, poor service; they make lots of apologies but take no responsibility for their incompetence.First time was a bust
Car RenterFirst ever time using this service. Licence verification was a pain, and had to do it twice. Having to submit images of my licences via email is not best practice for private data. Then rejected by owner, no explanation. 19 hours have gone by, then no more cars available at the airport, only "near" the airport. The rejection message said call but then it was "due to an expectedly high demand..."
Awesome, good value, good money, fast efficient communication
Car RenterFor the price and quality of the car, it is the best deals in Queensland. The procedures to ensure fairness and protection on both party are well documented by taking pictures and description of any existing imperfections, and also on the contract documents. The car is less than 8000km and very new, and the communication is very fast and efficient, making a very smooth process.
