It Is Really Good – My original and 100% reliable Aquamax Continum 24 finally wore out after 23 years without any problems even after surviving and being dented by the 1999 Sydney hail storm that destroyed my garden and left Wok size dents in my steel roof. It's now a discontinued model. I went to Bunnings to look for a same again replacement and found the Dux… Read more ·  1

"Condensing" 26litre/min which also has multiple temperature controllers looks to be an exact size replacement, to easy.

The new Dux Condensing technology model has superior efficiency compared to my old water heater. The result is " I'm happy Jan".

Looking forward to another 23 years of as much hot water as you want at what ever temp you want.

It's so good to enjoy a perfect shower without playing with the taps, especially, when someone starts using water in the house and your hair and face are covered in soap. Toooo Simple, just set the temp and only turn on the hot tap in the shower, problem solved.

The bath fill feature is also a very interesting and useful feature though I don't have a bath.

No looking back, Love continuous hot water! – We've had the Dux 17L Continuous Flow hot water system (17ENB5L) for 18 months now, and are extremely happy with our purchase. The set 50oC water temperature is perfectly consistent, and is just hot enough that we need to add a little cold water to be comfortable showering or washing dishes, so don't worry about the fixed temperature being an… Read more ·  1

issue, it's definitely plenty hot enough, but not so hot that you'll burn yourself. The system operates so quietly that you really would have to be outside near it to hear it running or to smell the faintest hint of gas when it is in use.

My husband and I don't have loooong showers but aren't particularly careful with hot water usage either and run the washing machine on a warm cycle 3-4 times per week on average. With this level of usage we seem to go through a 45kg gas bottle every 6 months. It would be rare for us to have a shower at the same time as the washing machine is filling, it still works fine when we do but is the slightest bit cooler, so if you regularly run two or more hot taps at once it may be worth looking at the next size up rather than the 17L.

When the gas bottle runs out it's a simple process to get the hot water flowing again.. Turn off the power to the hot water system, switch your gas connection over to the second gas bottle (usually just turning a tap or lever) then turn the power back on. We would highly recommend this hot water system! If we ever need to buy another we'll happily go with same product again.

Very very poor warranty service – We purchased this system less than 2 years ago and was installed by a licensed plumber. When working it was fine. Unfortunately when the system failed due to internal problem allowing water to come out where the electrical cable cable goes and system kept tripping and then blocked we replaced it as it was a safety issue, freezing cold and a… Read more

weekend. We took the system back to Bunnings and they refused to replace it advising it is a Dux matter. We phoned Dux who refused to honour the warranty as the system had been uninstalled. To have it reinstalled by a plumber would cost us hundreds again, and still have to go without hot water until a warranty plumber comes. On previous occasions it has taken weeks for warranty work to be done on appliances as we are out in the country, knowing this we had the system replaced due for the above reasons. Surely Dux could have tested the system without having it installed at the time. We suggested their plumber could reinstall it when he gets here for testing or we could take the system to their plumber all to no avail. It is obviously a clause put into their warranty to avoid having to honour it.

Realistic Expectations (this is not your TV set) – I can't understand why people complain about water wastage when they first turn on the tap and it runs cold for 10 seconds. All continuous flow systems will do this regardless of brand or model. It is necessary for cold water to be flowing through the unit as it heats to prevent damage to the heat chamber, so the first few litres through are going… Read more ·  2

to be cold as they have passed through the chamber before being heated. If your that concerned, try collecting the first few litres in a bucket to use on your garden, or perhaps try a different type of water heating technology, but all will waste some water before hot begins to flow.

Great system – Got rid of the tank and put this system in, I bought the unit from Bunnings for 1450dollars. I got a few quotes from various plumbers who didn't have a clue what they were talking about and wanted to charge over 2000 dollars for install. I checked DUX website who referred Cavana plumbing, the guy came out knew exactly what needed to be done… Read more ·  1

compact, cheap, pay gas only when use – Been using it for a month now and everything's fine. Bought from Bunning, they have their own Dux team and take care of everything professionally and fast. It is cheap, esp when comparing with those water-tank system, the unit is compact as well and use gas only while needing hot water.... Total cost is $3,376 including installation of the new unit, removal of my old bulky hot-water system on rooftop, fix the roof-tiles holes and all clean-up Show details ·  1

Apparently this product is modern? – Moved into a house with this hot water system. The other user here, Mikey, details my problem exactly. The heater cuts out mid shower, turning a five minute shower into an eight minute battle with the tap handles. Landlord sent out a plumber and apparently it's a known issue with these models. Getting a replacement installed soon. Hopefully it's under warranty. Show details

Disappointing – I bought this Dux unit 11 months ago from Elgas and had it installed by a professional plumber. The unit has always had inconsistent temperatures and is quite noisy which I didn’t not anticipate. However, three weeks ago the unit totally failed so I contacted Dux to process a warranty claim. Dux sent someone out to assess the issue the same day.… Read more

Although the assessor did not run any diagnostic tests and did not replace any parts they miraculously got it to start working and I was told it was all fixed. Then 2 weeks later the unit stopped working again. When I rang the original assessor to re attend he was incredibly rude and condescending. so I rang Dux back again and a new assessor came out. This time they identified faulty parts which required replacement. I was told these needed to be ordered and they would have to come back. I have been left without hot water for 3 days now and apparently need to wait a further 2 days before the parts are in and the plumber can come back and fix the issue. What astounds me is that despite all appeals Dux seems to think this timeframe is reasonable?? Given my experience and the poor build quality of this Dux product if you have the option don’t buy this hot water system.

Very slow to get hot water to the tap – The hot water unit seems to operate well enough in providing good hot water. It just takes a ver long time to arrive at the tap, causing a lot of water wastage. Is there something that I can do to improve this situation? Show details

Wow, just had the 21L always hot continuous Flo LPG hot water heater installed to replace a lesser known brand unit that I struggled with for 18 months that would make up its own mind to ignite. Hot water arrives at the shower, vanity and bath very quickly and as I am on tank water with little pre flow to waste. Very quiet operation. A blessing. Extremely happy. Great price from Bunnings with excellent service from them as well. Show details ·  1

Fitted in place of the broken Kelvinator – Was the first one I could find that fitted where the leaking Kelvinator was (Recessed into double brick wall). Got a 26L and condensor model in place of the old 21L. Needed a drain pipe fitted which added $100 to make $2000 installed. If it wasn't for the kids I only needed 2 kettles to have a good wash and from late December to mid April I have… Read more

We had to find a way to beat the gas price rises – Had the unit installed 2 weeks ago through Bunnings and love it. The constant availability of hot water in the shower is terrific, as my wife loves LONG showers and often left me with half a shower with the old storage system.  Show details ·  1

W are quite happy with the system. It's early days as we only had it for 2 or so weeks. But, so far so good – Given it's only been about 2 or so weeks, we haven't had any issues so far. Didn't notice any fluctuation in temp in the kitchen or shower. Let's hope it stays this way, forever! Show details ·  1

Happy with the product so far – Most of the time the unit performs well. Except when opening the hot water tap away from the unit, it takes a lot of wait time to get hot water. If you are moving from gas tank into continuous flow please be aware that there are lot of additional costs involved in plumbing and electrical work. Its not plug and play. Show details ·  1

Thanks Dux for going above and beyond-Replacement of unit – Over past 5/6 years I have experienced many issues with Dux solar/gas boosted system. Which had been very costly to say the least. Dux have given me a new system free of charge. Thanks for understanding and compassion. New system 26ENA5N works well. Show details ·  1

The Hot Water Is Great! – The Dux rep on the phone was very friendly and professional and answered all my questions. The plumbers organised by Dux called Cavana Plumbers were also friendly and professional. My old system was a Rheem and let me tell you, the Dux gets hotter quicker, is quieter and the pressure is much much better. So glad I got a Dux!  Show details ·  1

So much better than previous "other brand" instant gas water heater – Water arrives quite quickly into bathroom, ensuite and laundry as unit is located close to these areas. Installer explained clearly why hot water takes a lot longer to arrive at the kitchen mixer. His knowledge was outstanding on gas pipe sizes and regulations.  Show details ·  1

Replaced an old Endurance 20plus with PCB issues – Still takes a while to reach the shower due to distance from unit but lovely and warm at 50 degrees. Existing control pad was not compatible but is not required- around $200 extra fitted. These units seem an improvement on older models. Show details ·  1

Ideal size for us – Ideal system for us, the water temperature is a little lower than before, 50 degrees as compared to 60 degrees on the old system, but we prefer this, and the flow rate is excellent. So, very efficient and cost effective. Hope it lasts as long as the previous one (which was 13 years!) Show details ·  1

Works very well. Happy I switched from electric hot water – The installation was arranged through Bunnings. A seamless process. Dux organised the plumber and electrician and installation took 3 hours. Very happy with the decision made on purchasing this product and switching from an electric system. The heat is consistent and uses less cold water to get the desired temperature. Show details ·  1

6.7 stars rating – 6.7 stars. That's the highest star ratings I've seen. The plumber who installed the system also had previously chosen this system for his own property. Hot water? Only if you're patient and lucky – We moved into our new-build home in July. It had the 26ENA5L installed - and it worked okay for the first month or two (except that it took FOREVER for the first hint of warm water to come through). In the last few months though, the warm water only lasts about 2 to 3 minutes before slowly going cold again. The only way to sort it is to turn the… Read more

tap to full hot and wait for the temperature to rise again. If you only turn it part way to FULL HOT (even just a smidge off the full position) it only keeps pumping out ever colder water. This is really not acceptable. In our old house, we had a Rheem on-demand heater installed and NEVER had any issues. I can only hope that this gets resolved because it's not acceptable in a modern appliance.
