Light bulb camera – Had a problem with our security camera and phoned the company. Both Mat & Trisha (especially) tried to help! Unfortunately the camera which was over 18 months old had become defective. With out delay they sent a replacement not only free of charge but also paid for the postage! Well done outstanding customer service! Thank you Robert P

E27 PTZ security cameras are HUGE – The E27 (Edison mount) light bulb fitting is the screw in style. It is actually a 26.5 screw bulb fitting into a 27 sized socket, so you will see e26 / e27 in some spec. This is found in USA and in the old days before many were born, an E27 bulb was designed for 110 volt AC, so using this configuration in Australian 240 volt AC houses didn't make sense to me. We had the B22 bayonet style, push in and twist.
But indoor fittings were different to outdoor, because the large par 45 flood lights are all E27 mount.
This is where I expected the E27 PTZ light bulb cameras to find their place. The outdoor flood lights are usually mounted high in the roof overhang eves, on the corners of the roof. Replacing the par 45 bulbs would be an easy choice. NOTE: I was lucky that 2 of par 45 fittings had a rubber weatherproof collar that flexed around the bulb base. Later when I moved the bulb to a third par45 fitting, I actually removed a flexible rubber collar to allow the PTZ bulb to fit. I have discovered that one of my par45 fittings will not allow the E27 PTZ to screw in. An E27 extender would be required, but replacing an outdoor light fitting with a weatherproof enclosure is essential for anything more than a quick test.
Unfortunately these PTZ cameras are not waterproof or weather proof and if we swap out any of the outdoor par 45 flood lights on an electrical circuit, that means we have to keep that circuit switched on to power the PTZ camera.
NOTE: if you have motion sensor PAR45 light fittings, you will find these are incompatible with any kind of smart light or PTZ camera because the motion sensor switches the power to bulb OFF.
So we either remove all the par45 bulbs and replace with PTZ cameras or we use smart WiFi par45 bulbs in combination with a smart PTZ camera, so the power circuit remains ON.
We used a combination of both.
The PTZ camera quickly became dirty and while that wasn't a big problem with PAR45 flood light bulbs that can be cleaned with a carefully aimed squirt of the hose, these PTZ cameras would not survive.
So the convenience of a camera that can replace an outdoor high mounted flood light (high enough to be out of easy reach) does not seem to be the ideal swap.
We realised that our wall mounted verandah lights (porch lights) while being a much lower mount position on the wall, are fully enclosing the light bulb and as luck would find are also E27 fittings.
I collected the E27 PTZ cameras and put the Par 45 flood lights bulbs back.
Imagine my disappointment to find that these PTZ E27 bulb cameras are suddenly HUGE when putting them in the light fittings.
Why did they make them as large as 150mm , 6 inches. There is no chance of making them fit.
I searched around the internet, Temu, eBay Emporium Hut, but all the E27 PTZ are so huge.
I did find a listing on an American website where the size of the E27 PTZ cameras were less than 5.5 inches. Shipping was too expensive, then I tracked similar photos through Google searches and found an eBay seller with an E27 PTZ camera at a slightly higher price, but specification has 105mm in overall length.
Well that seems small. So I sent a message asking for confirmation that the measurements were actually 105mm and not a typo for 150mm.
The seller confirmed that the measurement was 105mm. I wasn't convinced so I asked again and also mentioned that I would be annoyed enough to leave negative feedback if I purchased the product only to find that my time and money was wasted. The seller assured me that the 105mm measurement was CORRECT.
I have packed up my existing E27 PTZ bulb cameras and am keenly waiting for my new light bulb sized smaller E27 PTZ cameras to arrive, because these will fit right into my existing wall mounted verandah light fittings and provide the perfect combination of weather proof protection and enough security from being easily removed from a bolted together light fitting.
UPDATE: I have discovered that the specification of 10.5cm (4.1") is inaccurate and the actual size is 50% larger, 6.1"
Most online sellers giving a size smaller that 6" are using product photos with incorrect measurements.
They probably know because the same is on multiple listings with accurate and misleading dimensions for a higher price because it is supposed to be smaller and will easily fit in light bulb enclosures.
Not all PTZ light bulb cameras have the same build quality, even though they look like they have come out of the same factory. I had a couple that were ready to fall apart. I included a photo.
I found an eBay listing where the seller description is a 4.1 inches length for the PTZ e27 light bulb camera.

I am currently wasting time as a seller plays dumb or ignores the content of my messages.
A token reimbursement of $6 total, to leave them alone to continue their deceptive selling practice doesn't even cover the difference in price of the correctly specified dimensions from other sellers asking $11 less for each.
I accepted a partial refund because I ran out of time to follow this through and I noticed the cameras looked like they were ready to fall apart. That would have resulted in a drawn out communication exchange and it is doubtful I would have received a refund. These cameras and other PTZ cameras I have owned can be susceptible to becoming loose because the spin is not 360°, which means that every time you hit the full scale deflection there is a chance of loosening the screw mount until it breaks through the lock-tight thread glue.
