I bought the Winbot Neo Mini due to a shoulder issue that meant cleaning windows was a physically painful, and nowadays-neglected, task for me. I’ve been searching for an easier and fast away to clean windows for years and recently found a secondhand one of these at a price I was willing to pay, so took the plunge. I can’t tell you how happy I am! I only wish I’d bought one sooner.

The windows in our home are relatively small compared to some, and we have several very narrow long windows, so a full size robot probably wouldn’t work for us, but the Neo Mini was perfect.

Most of our windows are on the second story with no balcony or other way to clean the external glass without reaching around awkwardly and half leaning your body out of the window. Even before I had a shoulder issue, it was quite a painful task that would usually take a few weekends to get through cleaning all of the windows.

The videos don’t really do it justice but our windows were quite filthy when we bought the Winbot, it had probably been 2 years since the last time they were cleaned. After just the first run so much of the dirt was gone that I couldn’t believe it. I discovered that what works best for our windows was to run it on the “thorough clean” setting three times per window (once or twice should be sufficient for future cleans as they really were filthy this time), rinsing the cleaning pad after two runs to keep it damp and ensure the cleaning pad was dirt-free for the final run. Our windows were virtually spotless with little more than the effort of rinsing the cleaning pad and moving the robot from window to window. Zero pain and minimal effort! I was able to let it do it’s thing and focus on other chores all day, just coming back to rinse the pad or move the robot once it finished the window it was on. Instead of several weekends, I had perfectly clear windows throughout our entire house in 1.5 days, and it will no doubt take even less time in the future since the windows were particularly soiled this time.

By keeping the cleaning pad pulled taught each time I reattached it after rinsing, it stretched just slightly past the dimensions of the robot itself and would clean to the very edges of the window the whole way around as part of the “thorough clean” setting. Like other window robots it can’t clean all the way into the very corner because that’s where the wheels are, but it’s such a small area (maybe 15mm squared) that took maybe 30 seconds per window to clean those bits by hand.

The robot sucks itself onto the window like a powerful vacuum cleaner, but the noise wasn’t even as loud as our stick vacuum. Then it moves around and maps out its route, spraying liquid as it goes along. I forgot about the cleaning solution that came with the robot, so I just filled the robot with water from the tap, which worked perfectly fine, maybe I’ll try the cleaning solution next time, but it doesn’t seem to be necessary.

As per the instructions, I anchored the robot via the safety cord to prevent it from falling if the suction were to fail, but this never happened, I can only assume this is to protect against mishaps due to an unforeseen power outage. The power cable was plenty long enough for us to reach all of our windows, and a basic extension cord should be all anyone would need to reach pool fencing etc. So I’m not bothered at all that this robot is powered by cable and not by battery.

I found the app quite clean and useful. It was really easy to pair the Winbot to my phone app which then allows you to select additional settings, move the robot around manually and do spot cleaning (eg. To clean a particularly dirty area, maybe a bird poop). When manually controlling the robot it even lets you select whether you’re looking at the robot from underneath or on top, which then lets you move the robot in the direction that makes sense to you from where you’re standing.

All in all, we are just so happy with this purchase and I never have to look at our windows that filthy ever again and dread the near impossible task of cleaning them. Ps. I’ve read reviews from people of this and other robots about them having smears still on the windows, for us it was just a matter of running it again after rinsing the cleaning pad. No more smears.

On special for $299 December 2025 for window cleaner. Poorly cleaning with streaks from dust/ dirty water and had so many issues connecting to start. When eventually did start, you had to be able to connect to power and needed to rinse every pad to do each window. Not work it.

Purchased in at ALDI for $299.

Support with this is very negative! I contacted and emailed ecovac for weeks and weeks to get feedback on the window cleaner and they were so unhelpful, so as the last resort I posted feedback here- wow how quick you reply now!
