It is cooler than the previous heavy cotton I had. However, the fabric creases badly so that it always looks messy and it shows up marks from sweat, oil, tears etc. so don't actually sleep on the included pillow cases. Also colour "lagoon" looks like a light blue in the online picture but is actually a dirty light green which is quite ugly. The product is advertised as being pet friendly because pet hair "slides right off". That is sort of true but that same slipperiness means that this doona cover slides all over the bed (and sometimes right off) during the night. Also, my cat's claws catch on the fabric and pull the threads. The result is that, after only a few weeks, my new pet-friendly doona cover makes my bed look like a dog's breakfast.
Follow-up · The fabric feels like satin to touch but is, fortunately, much cooler. The colour hasn't faded at all after 3 washes, it's still just as ugly. Pet hair does come off easily but that's just as well as, because there is no pattern, you can see every single strand of it every morning. The snagging from my cat's claws is, of course, much worse now so the cover will look like a very large cleaning rag in another 2 months. This fabric is probably fine for sheets but isn't suitable for a doona cover.
