After 40 years of ovens, this is the best
After many ovens in many houses this is by far the best oven we've ever had.
The steam cooking is amazing. Moist, even and fast! Was a lot more than what I wanted to pay for an oven... But again, you get what you pay for.
Design, function and asthetically very good.
Lighting is brilliant and love the two tracks on rails.
Used for 6 months... Haven't done a pyro clean yet...
Purchased in at Harvey Norman for $2,300.
Unacceptable After-Sales Service
Oven failed to work after less then 6 months, and after doing a pyrolytic clean.
Reset electricity twice still failed to reset. Reported the problem to Electrolux who will now take 8 days before they will send somebody out to look at at. Must they have a lot of failing appliances.
Not impressed for the price paid. Would not recommend this product.
UPDATE: Person came to look & advised needs new door lock - will request overnight from Adelaide (I'm in Sydney) and return Next Thursday !! - Not happy. Today (Wed) receive text to which I cannot ...

Brilliant oven, love the steam function
We purchased this oven just under a month ago, originally we were going to get the model below (616DSD) but they were out of stock and we got a great price on this model instead.
I didn't think the steam function was going to be that useful, and boy was I wrong, It's brilliant - we use it mainly for bread baking and roasts.
The oven is super easy to use thanks to it's graphical display, and easy to use control system, it heats up quickly and the temperature display will show you not only your preset temperature, but also the current temperatu...re - very handy to keep on eye on when it's nearly ready to go. Another thing I thought would be a gimmick is the food probe, but that combined with the steam function have been the 2 most used features of this oven - I really like the fact that it will show the current internal temperature while you are cooking and that it will calculate the cook time as well, which has made prep time a lot easier for other items that need to go in during the cycle. One of the main drawcards for this oven was the telescopic rails, which are good, but I have found hard to keep clean, the other for us was the Pyrolytic function which I have only used twice, but both times it has worked well, although you do need to remove all the racks for this so they still have to be scrubbed. All in all, it's a great, easy to use oven that cooks consistently and evenly, with the bonus of looking stunning in our kitchen with the matching fridge we purchased at the same time.

Absolutely brilliant so far
This oven has been brilliant so far and the food cooking time has been cut in half from the old Westinghouse , roasts come out perfect . The steam function is great and the food comes out so much moister with it. Still getting my head around the temp probe cooking and the suggested cooking times they refer to in manual . Haven't done a pyro clean on it yet as we just give it a bit of wipe over when finished and still looks new inside . You do fill the steam drawer a few times during a roast cook and i haven't had to drain it as yet , but you h...ave to take door off , no particularly hard as its two latches but be careful as if you pull door off in horizontal position latches flick up and hit glass , so undo latches in horizontal position and lift up to 45 degrees then remove door . A great oven so far and couldn't be happier

Grill element burnt out 2 weeks old
I bought a new Electrolux EVEP618DSD oven and after two weeks the oven display recommended a light pyro clean. As the oven got half way through the cleaning cycle, the top grill heating element started to glow extremely bright in one small spot just before it burst into hot sparks and melted. See pictures.
Harvey Norman would not let me post this review on their website, how very dishonest.
I have since researched and found that other Electrolux oven models EVEP618 have burnt out worse. Stay away from this model of oven.
Purchased in for $2,000.
Questions & Answers
I purchased the Electrolux EVEP618DSD oven.I have noticed that the last two times I have used the Roast function and set the temperature on 180degrees, it is fine until all of a sudden there is a couple of beeps and the temperature skyrockets to 250 degrees. This is the replacement oven we had installed after the first one arched like one of the other reviews.Really can't trust this oven, and wonder what steps to take next.
I bought my oven from Harvey Norman. The fault occurred within the first couple of weeks. I complained to Harvey Norman and told them about the other reviews having the same problem. I demanded to get...a bosch oven instead as the Electrolux EVEP618 Oven is NOT safe imo. They had no problems in exchanging the oven to bosch and paying the bill to get the ovens swapped around by the electrician. I didn't even have extra extended product warranty. Harvey were great in that regards. I also filed a product safety defect form to the aus gov department. I suggest you do the same. This oven has to many known issues and needs to be taken off the market and refunds giving.

Hi mech Tech just wondering which Bosch oven (model?) did you get as replacement in the end? Thanks.
Hi, I absolutely love the EVEP618DSD. Love all the functions. My only concern is the drain pipe to drain the excess water used for the steam function. There is quite a bit of water that flows back to where the hinge is and down my oven cabinets. (About 1 - 2 tablespoons of water)
My concern is that my cabinets (pot drawers) under the oven is going to be damaged by this water.
Has anyone had this problem?
I look forward to hearing from you.
The drain was put in a stupid location, it is impossible to plug the hose into it without water spilling.
Take the oven door off then put drain plug in, it's very easy to remove door , fold up retaining latches and slide off . I agree drain plug is in dumbest position ever
oh I thought I was going crazy... I kept reading the reviews and nobody mentioned this problem. I bake bread and use steam for cooking meals almost daily... I wonder if I can empty the tank every oth...er day... instead of every use... what do you think?
I would be interested in what Electrolux has to say about this.
Contacted Electrolux and told them about the failure and other reviews with the same failure. The lady was shocked and took my details and said someone will be in contact with me to further investigate....
A week later still nothing. ...Harvey Norman have be good enough to let me swap it out with a bosch oven. Honestly if Electrolux wasn't interested in seeing this video of the fault happening, then others can see it. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-7f1-jUE041L-0bAh7babIZV0XAPOmrd/view?usp=drivesdk
