Unhappy – We have a 2.5 year old Electrolux oven. During heating up it suddenly turned off - no lights on the control panel, on off switch didn’t work. Power supply to oven still live. Looked up FAQs on Electrolux web page but no advice there. Contacted Electrolux service, no idea - said we would need a technician to visit. Electrolux organised a technician… Read more

to come. The technicians immediate action was to go to the house fuse box and turn the oven fuse off, leave ten seconds, then turned it back on. Lo and behold this fixed the problem. The technician said this was a relatively common issue and charged me $165 for his 10 minute visit. I contacted Electrolux and suggested this should be on their FAQs and to refund the $165 as this was clearly a problem they knew about with an easy fix. Electrolux refused and said this was the end of the matter. So if this happens to you - try the simple fix above first before contacting Electrolux. Needless to say I won’t ever buy Electrolux again.

The brand does not care for its quality or reputation – This oven was good and satisfied its function. I wanted it because i threw away microwave and stopped nuking our food cca 6 years ago and was looking for an option to do cheese grilling etc. (kids at home :-)) without necessity to waste energy. For a family of 5, this was great combination of small oven for everyday things and big oven / both… Read more

ovens for family cooking.

The fan blades (the little bend parts of the blade) started to rust off after about 4 years and gradually over a year I lost all the blades from both oven fans. Since it started to influence the temperature in a major way, I had a technician to fit the new fan blades from inside the oven (the bit that turns). He succeeded, but he bent them (it was really not easy to unscrew the rusted on ones), so the oven was making a horrible noise when on. We were discussing the option to purchase and replace the whole fan piece by pulling oven out and replace the part from the back, but he said "lady, you have holes in your oven, you need to get the new one, this is dangerous". I could not believe that i have not noticed, and shuddered since I have used the pyrolitic function before; I could have set my house on fire!!!

So i started not to use the big oven at all, where the holes are, and only use the small oven. But it did not sit well with me. I have paid premium money for what i though was top brand - a guarantee of quality and a pride in their reputation - and this was only 5 year old oven. So I approached Electrolux a month ago letting them know about my situation. After I supplied the photos and explained my situation, within a week i got a cold sentence "Thank you for the photos there is nothing that can be done you will need to replace the oven and there are no parts available to fix the rust holes. We are unable to assist."

"Unable to assist." My query originally was - what is the expected lifetime of your product? No addressing this. No apology for what is clearly not a quality enamel in the oven. Nothing.

I am not a rich person, yet I try to buy the best brandnames relying on the quality of the product and the pride the name has to step up when things go wrong. I certainly do not think you should be replacing your oven after 5 years due to holes (!) in the device. This is clearly a defect in manufacturing. Even if they just said sorry, this is not our standard, it should not happen, here is some voucher towards next purchase....something....I could accept that i got unlucky. As it stands now, Electrolux does not care at all. Their "Swedish" brand name is just a marketing for silly Australians who think that there is quality in European / Scandinavian products. Buy if you wish, but do not expect the "European" service marketing people sell you with Electrolux.

UPDATE: When I submitted the review through ProductReview website, a mediation was offered to me with Electrolux which I accepted. The team in Electrolux were very efficient, and after extensive communication that was promptly responded to each time, I have been offered a approx. 30% discount to buy a new product (I have chosen to buy the same configuration of the oven, for the reasons i bought the first one). Although you do miss out on extended warranty or other perks that you may be given in the retail shop (for obvious reasons, since i was dealing with manufacturing), the communication was professional, and with the aim to solve the issue within their capabilities. The new iteration of the same oven has enhanced capacity of cooking modes including steam baking and 'air frying'. I have not tried those yet. Although it took a dissappointing reveiw to get ball rolling, eventually Electrolux did the right thing, and restored my faith in the brand. I am not quite sure how to update the previous rating, so I leave it as it originally was. Thank you Electrolux, and, thank you, Product Review. And the new oven looks and bakes great. :-)

Terrible. Bottom oven burnt the bottom of all my baking – Top oven worked fine. Slight unevenness of browning but it was ok. Bottom oven burnt everything . Top of cakes would bee light golden brown the bottom charcoal. I swapped the baking tins for lighter ones as recommended ; which you don’t find out until, after you purchase the oven. It made no difference whatsoever . If I put a batch of cookies in… Read more

It is disappointing and unfortunate to have a faulty product but the customer service was inexcusable. Have just replaced it with a neff double oven which is cooking beautifully .

Disappointed – I bought this oven believing it would be better than my old Westinghouse that I have had for about 20 years. Unfortunately I am finding that making in particular biscuits that they don’t bake very even at all. Have to constantly be watching them and turning them and changing the shelves while baking. I am very disappointed as I waited a long time… Read more

to get a new oven and now I sometimes wish I had the old one back. Cooking roasts and vegetables is good but not baking biscuits in particular. Also the vent is at the front of the oven so blows hot air into the kitchen. Probably would try a different brand if I ever have the opportunity of buying a new one again.

Pyrolytic by name and pyrolytic by function – Really disappointed with the lower oven which acts like a furnace with pastry - runs way too hot (especially from the base) and torches pastry (on the base) in three quarters of the required cooking time. The base of this strawberry galette was completely burnt, at the recommended temperature (200 degrees) in 3/4 of its suggested cooking time. So disappointing – Bought the oven paying well over other brands to get the exciting facilities! However, straight off, how on earth do you use the grill? The instruction book is adamant that you must grill with the door closed but if you do, then the thermostat cuts off the grill when its reaches temperature so that you cannot grill anymore. the door open, the grill stays on as it should but the heat coming out the front if the door opening trips the temperature safety with and the whole oven unit switches off until it has cooled. In effect, this product is not fit for purpose and hopeless if you intend to do any grilling.

Excellent! Love this oven! – Went in store and was up sold this oven and so glad we were. It has all the settings we would need, very user friendly, and has great safety functions such as cooling down mode and not hot to touch from the outside when on. Best oven we’ve had in terms of double oven where you really can cook two totally seperate meals perfectly. Show details

Great Oven – After putting up with our very old gas oven for many years, this oven is a delight. The functions are clear (no interpreting symbols) and easy to use. telescopic runners (however, I would prefer them installed on different rack levels, but haven't found an easy way of removing them) so that I don't have to lean in to the oven. The smaller double oven is great and more efficient for just the two of us. I couldn't be happier with the oven.

Awesome oven – Purchased this oven after looking at many models. Chose this one for easy slide roast/grill trays to avoid difficult rack pull out to check on food status. Perfect for cooking roast and adding veg etc. Stylish look and great cooking features. For middle of range price, this is a great oven And is very easy to clean. Had probe recall - love turned to disappointment and dislike of brand – Read to end - developed issues with very poor interaction from brand... pull out on extended struts so very stable. Baking dishes/ roast trays/ grill trays/ temerature probe just wonderful....these are not extras but included with the oven. Temp probe even better as it is electronic and switches oven off when internal temperature reached....so easy to use. Recommended - even tells you when a clean is due. SADLY this product is misbehaving within a few years. Sept 2018 there was a recall with the probe. Since then the probe (which was offered as feature that could remain) has worked intermittently (so hit and miss). A couple of months ago it keeps telling me ‘time to clean’ immediately after cleaning cycle. More recently you turn on to a temperature display that cannot be read and to be told it is cooling already (even though not been on for days) and Electrolux tell me repair man misinformed me when he told me the warranty was extended to 3yrs from the recall. Apparently the two years restarted and no-one can tell me what ‘maintenance level 3’ certification means.

CORRODED BACK PLATE JUST AFTER 7 YEARS – NOW AFTER 7 YEARS I originally gave it 5 starts now changing it to 1 star .. after 7 years the back of our oven has corroded through This is what Electrolux says on their website. • How often should you replace your oven? The general lifespan of an oven is between 10 and 15 years. With proper maintenance and cleaning, you’ll ensure the longevity… Read more

and efficiency of your appliance.

We had this oven for just over 7 years . We didn’t use it a lot, mainly over weekends, so maybe once or twice a week over the 7 year period, if that. We only put a pyrolytic oven clean on, when notified by the oven. It was used correctly and not often over the years. We have not used water inside the oven. The oven was used as per normal .

It was an expensive oven, I cannot remember how much we paid for it in 2017 but the equivalent version now is around $3300.

The last time we did a pyrolytic clean, the cover over the fan fell off ( at the back of the oven), we noticed that a corner piece had broken off the cover. The cover had corroded and apparently the back of the oven had corroded. . The Electrolux repair man drilled a new hole into the corroded cover and fixed it temporarily, he said it wasn’t any point replacing the cover because the screw will not affix onto the corroded back of the oven where the old screw hole was, the repair cost was $165. So it has been fixed temporarily. The repair man was sympathetic but guarded, as the oven should have lasted a lot longer., Because they were unable to fix it , we were offered a voucher of a mere $165 to be spent on a new Electrolux oven within the next 3 months. Recently after the repair we had a f908 error, we flicked the safety switch off and on at the meter box and the oven restarted, we didn't use it much after that.

After we rejected the offer of $165 . An expensive oven should last more than 7 years. I was willing to take it to consumer affairs, but before a claim can be lodged with consumer affairs, it is necessary to prove that you have attempted to resolve the problem with the company. At a later attempt to resolve the issue they offered us EVEP626DSE for $2,000 installed and the removal of the old oven. We took this offer , It seemed to be the best option for us to avoid having to change any of the cabinets. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I am not the only one that has experienced this problem, See a review by Jana in this thread , hers started rusting through after 4 years! I have cut and copied part of her review into this review.

"The fan blades (the little bend parts of the blade) started to rust off after about 4 years and gradually over a year I lost all the blades from both oven fans. Since it started to influence the temperature in a major way, I had a technician to fit the new fan blades from inside the oven (the bit that turns). I could not believe that i have not noticed, and shuddered since I have used the pyrolitic function before; I could have set my house on fire!!!" -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Buzzer volume on EVE models too quiet - would not recommend – We were so excited to finally make the investment in an Electrolux oven and it has many great features (heats quickly, grills golden and cleans) but unfortunately the deal breaker is the buzzer volume, as others have also commented. of the kitchen. Effectively, it makes it useless for doing any timed baking (which is most things). Other reviewers have pointed out this problem as well and Electrolux haven't offered any solution to fixing the inaudibility problem. So unfortunately despite some great features, do not buy any of these models if you rely on an oven timer.

Double the baked goods – We really love the double oven. We've used both ovens plenty of times simultaneously and separately to justify the inclusion into our new kitchen. The self-cleaning pyrolytic function is great, although the first time we used that feature it was quite smokey and set off the smoke alarms in the house... nothing a bit more regular cleaning wouldn't fix though ;-)

Very Good Double Oven – Both ovens are multi function and both have an auto reminder when time to clean your oven. Simply remiove the shelves and shelf supports - select the clean oven function..... then wait until the cycle is completed and wipe out the soot. Pretty good! I find both ovens to be fairly accurate with temperatures and more than happy with the cooking results. I love the telescopic shelves - saves me stretching in.... no more burnt wrists!

Feature packed oven, great results – This oven replaced our 17 year old De Longhi double oven and our only regret is that we didn't upgrade sooner! user interface is slick and intuitive and both my wife and I were able to operate it without consulting the manual - again, something the Italian manufacturers in particular need to take note of.

I do have some criticisms - the aforementioned telescopic runners are a little flimsy and indeed one was broken on delivery of the oven. Electrolux replaced this at no cost however. Also, I would like the option to install the runners at different shelf positions, which cannot be done.

Overall, we are very happy with the performance of our new oven and are baking a lot more than before - everything seemed too hard with the old De Longhi. If you are looking for a double oven, put this one on your shortlist.

A pretty good oven – Cooks everything perfectly and has some great functions such as pizza, cook from frozen, defrost and fan grill. Fan grill lets you grill with the door closed and you do not need to turn the food. Cooks both sides of the food at once! You save a lot of energy costs as most of the time you use just 1 rack in the little oven. I am getting annoyed with the little door. A lot of the time it is pulling off as I open the door.  Show details
