Does Not Dry – Bought this for a salon to save space, have not managed to follow instructions to work out a wash dry cycle. Have used the 18 minute wash and then wait 4 hours for towels to come out damp.. Not Happy wished we had never bought the machine... Any assistance would be greatly appreciated..  Show details

A reasonably good machine – Bought this machine 7 years ago and it tripped the safety switch 2 days ago, so I let it RIP, and bought another brand to try it out. Throughout the 7 year, it has been a reliable washing machine. I normally hang the washing on the line, so the dryer was only used if needed. When the machine was used for 4 years, it had a strange problem that… Read more

the machine stopped a couple of minutes after it had started, and the prewash/wash rinse, spin, drain lights were on. I tried the rinse only function, the spin only function, the drain only function individually, the machine was working fine, so there was nothing wrong with the motor. I then searched on the internet, and someone met the same problem, so I followed the step to 're-program' it. Switched to Whites/ Intensives mode, paused it as soon as the water finished draining out at the start, then only the Prewash/ wash light was on, wait for 30 minutes, then started the cycle again. Afterwards, it worked well for another 3 years.

It took a long time to dry if I used dedicated drying mode, but it was too hot if I used the other drying mode.

There was some minor problem with it from time to time, the cycle finished before it was supposed to be completed, the remaining time indicated was totally incorrect, when it said 1 min left, it was actually 10 mins. Usually in the next cycle, it was alright again.

I could have gave this a high rating, if I didn't meet that strange programming problem. I doubt if the manufacturer did this on purpose so people will call out for a technician.

Worst washing machine ever – Worst washing machine ever. I bought this washing machine 4 yrs ago, first two year washed well, dryer not so good but washing was ok. I noticed later that it wasn't finishing cycles properly and that i had to switch it on and off at the power to reset it for it to start properly. For quite a while now it will start and stop, start and stop,… Read more

start and stop, so i can't get the wash to start at all. If I start a cycle and leave it for half an hour and then restart again then it will start and wash but now it doesn't complete the wash, i have to get the machine to rinse manually and that takes a lot of mucking around and waiting as well. So a simple 3 loads that i did in 1 day, now takes 3 days. No error codes nothing it will not start properly at all. Too many issues too early in its life.

Rang electrolux and they said they can't do anything about it, i would have to pay for service call and parts and labour to repair. This is not good enough. A washing machine should last more than 2,3 or 4 years. My last washing machine lasted more than ten years. Front load as well.

I will never buy an electrolux product again after this.

Unreliable and disappointing product......Do Not Buy This Machine – After buying this machine approx 4years ago it had issues from the outset, with the error message "E-40"constantly appearing,it wouldn't start or finish of a cycle fully without clothes still being wet often,or not drying fully on the occasion I did use the dryer.I also purchased an extended warranty so a year ago when it stopped working completely… Read more

was able to get a tech out to repair (blocked filter apparently??) doesn't explain the past x3years of issues. Its now stopped working again after being left full of water I manually emptied and cleaned the filter it still won't start or work through a cycle-just sits there with the light on.I am yet to contact Electrolux again (tomorrow ) but no doubt they will try to advise me I am to be charged an outrageous fee to repair, even the product is clearly faulty and has never performed as described or promised in advertising.

Unreliable, not working as described in brochure or advertising from day one.

Would never buy another Electrolux washer/dryer combo again! – We bought this machine for our daughter to use for hand towels in her hair salon. A total waste of time! It would only dry 5 hand towels at the most, takes 90 minutes and they come out damp! The towels come out wetter than when they go in after being spun! If there is an answer to this problem, would love to know!!! nothing

OK Washer but Dryer Simply Does Not Work – Design: White - controls easy to use, time remaining indicator - 4 out of 5 Functionality: Washer: Programs are limited and do not let you to override spin rpm. We ended up using this machine on "Delicate" (about 1 hour) with no spin, then manually run spin at 1200 or 1400. This makes this for us a semi-automatic washer. For dirtier wash we… Read more

use "Colorfast", this time happy with auto 1400 rpm spin. We found "Quick 30" quite ineffective. - 3.5 out of 5

Dryer: It runs but simply does not dry. It has not worked since day 1. Clothes come out as wet as they went in, but have a light smell of burnt electricity. We did not bother with any service calls as after using the unit I investigated on this site and it appears dryer does not work for anyone who bought this unit. - 0 out of 5

Ease of cleaning: removal of lint catcher is somewhat difficult. It generally takes 2 - 3 goes to insert it back so that it does not slow down / stop the spinning gizmo behind it. - 3 out of 5

Longevity: We are a big family. Have been using this unit for many years 7 - 14 times a week without any problems. Bought in October 2009 - 5 out of 5

Overall rating - 2 out of 5 - simply cannot give it OK rating given the dryer does not dry clothes. Made in Italy. Nice to see a solid build - feels good. Dryer does not work presumably by poor design.

excellent wash but too HOT ! – i press cold wash and i get a hot wash ! A part of that, handling is very easy, wash quality and programm selection enough for me and y family. I will recommend this if you want get rid of 2 machine and use only a combo. you wash 3,5 kg + dry so it's pretty cool. You go work, start the machine and when you back home is all set and dry. easy handing temperature extremly high ! also when cold wash is selected

Unreliable product – The machine started playing up and became unreliable after about 6 months, and finally stopped working after about 9 months. money on a product that was unreliable anyway, so we left it sitting in the laundry and put a new dryer on top of it. A couple of months later, we tried it just for fun, and what a surprise: the machine started working again. It worked now well for three years when it suddenly stopped washing after 5 mins in the cycle and I think this was it. (I once had a Bosch washing machine and had two minor repairs in its 16 years of life) loading volume unreliable, very short warranty, expensive parts

Died after 4 years. Not made to last! – I never really liked this machine. It is noisy and worst of all, some water stays in the rubber section and, hence, there is a build up of grime and slush in that area. This shows that it is not rinsing well enough. IElectrolux used to be THE brand. Yes, I thought about getting it repaired but have decided to ditch it and buy an LG (thanks to all those who review out there... many thanks). It washed. Grime and water residue around rubbers.

Paid a lot of money for a non functioning machine! – This has been the worst product I have ever purchased. The first week I got it, it had to be repaired because the door kept 'opening' during the cycle even though it actually didn't...it was just a fault in the machine. Then the wash cycle kept stopping for no reason. The repair guy seems to think that the drain 'thinks' there is a block, but… Read more

Unreliable and fickly machine – The first 24 months the dryer keeps breaking down together with the washer itself. For just over 2 years now, we haven't had a functioning dryer. Yesterday the washer would not even… Read more

start at all. It is designed to last only to the time the warranty ends and I am sure that is to instigate repeat purchase. It is frustrating. It's the holidays and you end up thinking and rethinking whether the repair cost is worth at all. Would have been great if they have the repair kit available after the warranty period to spare customers the extra cost who can do DYI and have electronics knowledge. Anyway it's out of warranty just outside its timeframe. I always thought they are a good brand but business ethics seem to be rapidly changing. I hope the company still have the decency to rectify the problem that has since started within the warranty period and got carried through outside the period. Compact and convenience Intermittent problems from the start.

I do not recommend any Eletrolux branded washing machines! – This washing machine grows mould inside. When I contacted Electrolux they told me to rub with a lemon paste, but the problem is the mould grows back! So customer service cannot help and now my laundry stinks. BIGGEST REGRET... Buying this product!! – This product has been nothing but trouble, the only thing worse than this is the service you get when you call Electrolux! 10th time this happened I was on annual leave so I had an Electrolux repairer come out (after dealing with several incompetent Electrolux employees) who replaced the door lock. The machine started working but apparently the circut board was faulty and he would have to come back and replace it. He rang me the following week to tell me he was 20 minutes away, but I was at work... Electrolux had forgot to notify me he was coming! Another day off, the service man replaces the so called faulty circut board on my working machine, he leaves I do a load of washing only to find it won't drain! I call the service man back (he left my house 25 minutes ago) he tells me to call Electrolux, they tell me to call Harvey Norman! I now have a non working washing machine and will need to take ANOTHER day off work!! Even when the machine is working it is unimpressive, cycles are too long and the dryer is terrible...Thanks for nothing Electrolux.

was covered by an extended warranty that we had taken out upon purchase. After 6 weeks the motor and boards were finally replaced - we were not given a new machine. Three months after that the dryer malfunctioned - the problem not being obvious to the repairer. We bought another dryer as we didn't want to wait another 6 weeks while they tried to sort that one out. The washing machine was still working then.

Now 6 months later the washing machine has stopped working and is away being assessed.

The bell to tell you when a cycle has finished is extremely persistent, and very annoying.

I like the fact that it is water efficient. It constantly breaks down. I have had it 18 months and have the service guy coming again for the third time on Saturday. As a full time working person, I need to take time off work or waste a Saturday waiting for it to be repaired. Customer service solution was to buy another 3 year warranty otherwise I will be paying $95 a visit. It doesn't cope with towels and bath mats and just stops mid cycle. It doesn't dry very well unless you have very little in it and use store dry. The current issue is that the machine seemed to complete its cycle but was left full of water. I opened the door, water went everywhere and the machine turned itself off.

Terrible – Quite disappointed as I selected the best quality and highest price model I could find and I feel quite let down. Don't waste your money. Terrible – our first machine failed and was not repairable after one year. Was replaced and now, 14 months later it has failed with exactly the same problems as the original. Excellent – Great machine especially for the price. I bought it nearly 2 yrs ago when it first came out. Fantastic all in one option as i prefer line drying but love to have the dryer option if i need to. Very quiet and no humidty issues or fluff etc. Love the delay start and super easy to use. Excellent – We've had our combo for over a year with no problems/errors that other reviewers have mentioned. It takes about the same time to wash as our old front-loader and saves on water. back to dank smelly clothes because you were late.

Only thing is you have to remember that the dry cycle only takes 3.5kg so we weigh the load just in a basket on scales. Under 3.5kg and we haven't had any problems drying. It's about 6 towels which is enough for a couple but may not be for a large family. Since we line dry most clothes, we use the full 7kg for that, but loads for additional drying are done in 3.5kg loads. You put your wash on and forget about it to do things other than waiting for it to finish. Can't think of any

Good – Achieves its goal of saving space and washing and drying well. Sensor dry is a big benefit for saving energy. It is quiet and good design features. Well designed with good wash and sensor dry programs. No heat in laundry when drying as it goes down the drain. Could have a few programable settings for all the choices available.

my machine is still CRAP, a waste of $1149. Would be better beating my washing it against a rock, at least it wouldn't be covered in lint when finished. Also, F&P comment, was to use the conventional cycle for all washes, does this not devalue the water saving features which was a selling point. If you value your sanity DON'T BUY THIS MACHINE PLEASE. Good washer but small capacity dryer – I've always had top loaders and never a washer/dryer so I did a lot of research. wrote a poor review on February 26th, 2008 - I think they have wrong product site as I believe this Elextrolux is made in Thailand, not Italy. Very quiet, no 'shudder' during spin, fast spin (I prefer line-dry where possible), low water consumption, no venting so there' no humidity or fluff created in drying process, gentle on clothes, feels 'solid'. All front loaders seem to take longer to do a full-wash than top loaders. No longer qualifies for government low-water usage rebate ($150). Update: May 2019 - it seems the dryer function has died. Not bad for 10 years - though I didn’t use that function much. I’m not going to pay a service person to tell me to replace it, so I’m just using the washing function.

forever - but it is only slightly longer than total separate machines. It is a lot quieter than my previous front loader. VERY easy to use. Supposed to be a lot quicker at drying than other combo brands. The user manual is VERY easy to undersand. I love that I can just leave the load to wash and dry. Having previously had a nonvented dryer, this washer is fantastic if only because there is no humidity in the laundry - YAY! The only thing so far is that it doesn't dry towels well - and I was only slightly over the 3.5 kg limit. Where does the lint go?? The beep at the end of the cycle is handy ... but why does it have to beep forever? Why can't they tell us how much water is used in the dry cycle?

Good – Don't know what the other reviewr meant, I have no problems with lint and have been very happy with it. Quiet machine and lives up to it's name. Everything, very easy to use, great alternatives for wash cycles. Good – Very happy with the machine. It doesn't dry towels very well but does sheets perfectly. Cheaper than buying separate washer and dryer (eg. I was originally looking at F&P front loader and sensor dryer= $1200+), got this one for just over $1000. Lots of different wash settings, very quiet, seems to wash well, dries sheets well, takes up very little room. Where is the lint trap?? The manual tells me to clean it but doesn't tell me where it is!
