Epson Expression Home XP-300 / 310

After a year, it won't print no matter how much head cleaning you do – I have an XP-310 and XP-330. Both notoriously have issues with needing to replace the ink often. The heads frequently need cleaning because of skipped or faint print. Cleaning print heads uses a lot of ink. These are cheap printers, but the long run cost of ink and frequent inconvenience of interrupted workflow because of the inability to print documents makes this a large waste of money.

Clogged print heads – This model is notorious for clogging print heads, once they get clogged you have to throw it away - I had my black clogged and I tried acetone/alcohol cleaners with no success. Epson does not want to know about it after the warranty is finished.

No issues whatsoever! – It has been few years since we purchased this Epson. At the time they had a cashback offer so actually cost us around $50. It has been running well and we had no issues with printing, connecting to WiFi and printing from phones and tablets. issue is that the ink cartridges have low capacity - printing about 170 or so pages. Also one caveat is that if any one cartridge is out of ink, you have to replace it before printer can resume printing.

We are satisfied with the print quality and find this printer very reliable.

Printer itself (hardware) is ok, but the software is absolute rubbish – Lots of issues with WiFi, which was the main reason we bought this one actually. After using it for a couple of years, I had to literally hack the Windows Registry (regedit) to make it work again after the IP address changed. The latest updates and firmware don't change a thing. Beware of models that use the same software from Epson; you may run into the same problems as with this model.

no good – Terrible wireless, terrible printing. Also the updates dont work and the epson program Installed on pc is useless also. After months of trying i threw it in the bin.....Waste of 79.00! decide, that is fine, Ill just disconnect the Wifi on the printer by using the settings, as advised by Epson themselves, thanks Epson.

So what I am sick of doing is continually having to clean the nozzles and adjusting the heads through the maintenance screens on the printer every time I print! It is frustrating. I've wasted so much ink and paper by trying to print to have the ink all smeared over the pages and the words not being able to be read cause this printer sucks.

Another stupid thing is that I bought genuine Epson Ink cartridges from Officeworks but the stupid printer claims that they are not genuine and comes up with a warning all the time. Stupid printer.

On the plus side the refill ink cartridges are pretty cheap.

Overall I would highly recommend not being this piece of junk.

message.after looking on net to try and solve my problem I have come to the conclusion that Epsom are piles of crap and I would recommend to everyone wanting to buy a printer to not touch Epsom as a printer store that specialises in fixing printers that they wouldn't touch them.i wish I had that information before I outlayed my hard earned money to buy one

Infuriating and impossible to use – I bought this printer to replace a Canon model which had given good and faithful service for some years but had finally worn out. out"when there was a 5mm stack of photo paper in the tray. After pressing the OK and Start buttons several times it would do one print but no more.

I returned the machine to Harvey Norman, who kept it for a few days and then assured me that it was fixed.

I set it up again, and again it repeatedly said "paper out". I returned it again to H.N. and insisted on a replacement machine, which has, from the outset, done exactly the same. In case it was my usage of Picasa to send the photos to the printer, I also tried printing through "Epson easy photo print" with exactly the same lack of success. Just a repeated UNTRUE display of "paper out". I shall be returning the printer to Harvey Norman tomorrow, and shall request a refund of the purchase price, which I shall spend on a Canon printer.
