Have replaced ink cartridge, now lines will not print properly? Any ideas?

I stopped using this printer 3 or 4 years ago. I used to clean the head to remove lines. I use fuji CM205 laser printer - pretty happy with it. Laser printers are cheaper in the long run and less trouble.

my printer is not printing from the magenta cartridge but i'm unable to replace it as the printer is not saying it's out of ink, therefore it remains in the hiding place and i can't get to the cartridges. HELP!!

I stopped using this printer 3 years ago and replaced it with Fuji xerox colour laser printer which works out to be cheaper in the long run. From memory, i think there is an option in the printer properties to clean the head/replace the cartridge. Try that.

I have just changed all the ink cartridges but it will not print black. I tried pushing the ink cartridge down properly but it still won't print black. It prints colour, but not black. What's wrong with it? What do I do?

It is very odd, it never happened to me even when I didn't use the printer for 8 months. I assume it was printing before you changed the cartridge. Try one of these and check: 1. Take the black cartridge out and check if the plastic covering on the cartridge is pierced to allow the ink to flow.

2. Do the nozzle check and clean the head (if required) and try

3. Check if the ink in the cartridge has dried out - they do have expiry dates

4. Try with a new cartridge.

Hope one of the above works.

Epson Stylus TX100 stops when after 1 preview scan. my computer cannot communicate after, because the scanner turns off. I cannot turn it on again. what should i do now?

Sorry about the delay. The only thing you can do is to uninstall the Epson scanner software, then reinstall everything from the system disk that came with it. You are reinstalling the scanner drivers, which may solve things. If not, chuck it out, as they are not economical to have repaired.

We've change 1 cartidge on the printer. suddenly it doesnt recognise any of the cartridges are the 'tear drop' indicator flashes red. No idea what to fix the prob.

Have searched the internet high & low for answers on the internet.

any gurus out there that can help PLSE ?

According to the Epson Service Manual, the printer will do this if - it detects a non-Epson cartridge (the ink cartridges have a memory chip in them, some non-genuine cartridges may not fake it well enough)

- the ink cartridge is not properly seated

- the ink cartridge chip is damaged (check the gold coloured contacts on the end)

The only thing a user can do really is to reseat the cartridge, and then try a new cartridge. They aren't worth having serviced by a technician.

Try the advise I got from inkjet wholesale when I bought their cartridge and had the same problem (It worked for me): The best way to solve this is to uninstall all of your Epson printer drivers and then relaod your original driver from your original disc. Then when it asks if you want to receive automatic updates, make sure you select No.

So here's the steps if you still have your original Epson driver cd:

1. Go to start - programs - epson -

2. Highlight the printer model, then click on the uninstall file.

3. Then once uninstalled, turn off printer by unplugging power cord at rear.

4, Reboot computer.

5. Put Epson cd in and reload.

6. Plug printer back in and turn on at the front panel

7. Try printing

If you do not have your original cd, download from external link
