New router name appears on Epson Workforce 435, but having a problem putting in password. After putting in the first 7 letters, I need to hit the right arrow key for each additional letter or number & the spacing doesn’t look tight after completing password. Says it failed.

Mine died months ago so I am getting forgetful on troubleshooting. If you have a printer cable that should certainly enable you to make the laptop recognize the printer unless it is dying/had 1 too many upgrades.

Have you looked in Printers & drivers to see what options you have - you may have to reinstall it or the driver, or uninstall then re-install. I don't know whether to suggest doing so from the original CD I think came with it.

Some other tricks are to reboot the computer a couple of times, and my new favourite the 48 hour delay. Having re-installed Win10 more times than I have fingers in the last 6 months I am becoming a fan of that one, but I have backup to continue with the small things.

Only other suggestion is for you to save docs to a USB stick & take elsewhere or plug into other computer to print.

Other thought - have you installed any new software recently? I did notice someone reporting what appeared to be what appeared to be a clash between some new security installation & their printer - the only change they had made.

My 435 died a couple of months ago. So I'm doing a lot of this from Memory. There should be settings in the printer menu options for output allowing some changes, or failing that you may have to take time to scan to computer checking settings for the scan, then print from that. I'm pretty sure you can save as PDF to help with some options.

Some of the scan stuff was running only through Microsoft Apps, but I am pretty sure the options were better. Have you got the CD with instruction manual, or can you download it for help??

I am trying to print documents/cheques and every 2 inches or so the line is either blank or the bottom half of the words are missing. Any help?

Eleni.
Eleni.

Are you using a document template, are the margins OK, are you trying to do multiples instead of just one or two at a time??? Are you leaving long lengths of blank before a print. Mark some matching size sheets & practice a few in draft to save ink

If you are printing complete cheques, and not just filling out part of them is the ink stable enough to be legal??

My printer just died, probably due to a software upgrade preventing it from recognizing compatible cartridges.......

I am fairly sure the worst problems I had with printing was when I didn't have the margins set just right for the paper I was using.

Most problems with part lines was when I was printing bulk lables (ie 30 to an A4 page) that had very little room left on the label after

all the details were put down.

I have been to lengths where I set the form text

parts to be filled in upside down in Word document, then inserted my partially filled out forms

in upside down so there was less time spent feeding until print - hope this makes sense.

I printed a piece of paper off and a corner of the paper tore off and got stuck in the printer. I don't see it inside the printer. How do I get it unstuck?

Eleni.
Eleni.

If you have checked in the back hatch behind the paper- in port, and cannot see it inside the printing compartment or the paper out, it may have slipped somewhere that doesn't really matter. Can you use the menu buttons or software to do a simple test print or is the paper caught on a sensor preventing paper feed? You would need a pair of long tweezers and an extremely good headlamp/torch for best vision. Even with tweezers you may not be able to find or get at the paper - depending on how big the piece is that came off.

If you are still worried, do you have a squeezable bottle like a sauce bottle, or a fine dispenser that is clean that you can use to puff air into various spots. I do not recommend attacking it with canned air as I think that would be too much.

I did find the piece of paper. I moved the ink cartridges over and it was under that. But now we can't use the printer for its saying printer error and check the document. I've tried many things and it won't let us use any other buttons. Any suggestions?

I think you will find instructions to enter the password from the Epson control panel here: external link  search for ' wifi ' & scroll back up (about page 8 of 174) Have just done it recently myself, but had a total blank. Pretty sure this is how I did it. (l was also trying to fix scanning at the same time.)

If not see if the link below is of any use I just added this one without reading much of it

I have an Epson WorkForce 435 printer which has been printing pale blue horizontal lines about 2mm wide across the print area. I tried to resolve the problem by replacing all the ink cartridges with the appropriate Epsom cartridges. I ran all the checks, but still get the horizontal lines. What can I do ?

Eleni.
Eleni.

By running the checks I presume this included Nozzle alignment and possibly head cleaning from the maintenance menu???https://www.manualslib.com/manual/887535/Epson-Workforce-435.html?page=135. or Maybe you have a driver issue: external link

uninstall, then reboot to reinstall automatically or see if you can run as an older model, or re-install from your original disc, or hopefully a kept update download???

I doubt that you have a clogged head problem -

I have a semi-persistent problem with my yellow ink drying and recently read about applying windex to the printhead intake. (or diluted ammonia with a dash of isopropyl alcohol). Remove the cartridge and wrap the port if it is going to be out for a while. I think I saturated a long handled cotton bud, or got a fine article I could drizzle the solution down - the windex was moussy type & I didn't have a straw/tube to hand. Leave the windex on for 20-30 minutes, then carefully dry off the windex, replace cartridge & do a Nozzle alignment test. You don't need to waste ink to see if the problem is fixed. I simply don't have any idea how to handle the printhead to move over a slip of moistened paper to fix from underneath, as this model has the frame the system sits under for cartidge changes, making it difficult to do anything in the space. Otherwise I might try a photo weight paper with a spray of windex or isopropyl and run a small print from an excel page with large gaps between in hopes that the paper is sturdy enough to run through and the printhead go over the dampened patches.

I have bought empty refillable cartridge set to use on the printer with windex solution in future. Having the refillable cartridges means I should be able pretend print with isopropyl mix for a thorough cleaning, but as I haven't tried this yet it would be a last resort. but also need to open the back hatch and attach a collection bottle for excess ink, instead of the pads reporting they are 'full'. Draining ink worked on my old CX5500, so should do the same here. Just don't forget to check the collector regularly so it doesn't overflow.

Hope one of these ideas works. I would love to hear back.

Replace the print head and the problem will go away. Or you could print at a lower resolution, usually 720dpi or lower, until the problem goes away. Also update your drivers. For further support check Epson Expression Home XP-435 Manual- external link

Why won't my printer stay online over wifi? After a few minutes I have to get up and restart it. Partly defeats the point of wireless.

Eleni.
Eleni.

Apologies for delay in answering. Have never had a problem with my printer, though it is still plugged into computer with usb @ same time but setup for wireless. I changed modem routers recently and nothing missed a beat.

Apart from checking drivers (I use iobit driver booster 3 free), checking settings as per some of what is mentioned in the link below may help. Also reboot all machines if you are in the habit of using hibernation.

Why can't I use the printer when the PC it is connected to is turned off?

Eleni.
Eleni.

Hi you haven't specified if you have this set up as a fax/copier and wirelessly (though my model cannot be setup wirelessly without USB connection first.). Are you trying to print wireless from another computer?? please give more information. I will be trying a few things in the interim when I am finished with computer, but I know mine still works ok as a fax without the computer being on, and I photocopy as well using the keypad menu's. eg if you are trying to copy something you need to set whether it is in colour or BW before it will start.

I have an Epson Workforce 435 printer, and I cannot print anything without red lines across the whole paper, I assume I need to clean the roller as I can see red marks along it, but not sure how to do this, I have done all the other on line cleaning, could somebody either please tell where to get instructions to this or tell me how, thanks Kathleen

Eleni.
Eleni.

If the lines are vertical then I would say that yes your rollers need a clean. if they are horizontal it is a print/nozzle problem. This isn't specifically for the 435, but may be of assistance if you haven't seen it before.

Other option is to carefully dampen part of a couple of sheets of paper with isopropyl alcohol <>70% like in alcohol wipes - (?cheap spray bottle or foam applicator brush or lint free rag) and then if you can't get a sheet to feed through blank, create a document where the text or marks are nearly on the other end so the majority of the blank page goes through before printing. Send the dampened sheet through & see how you go. or try accessing with long handled cotton tip soaked in alcohol

I was trying to send a fax it says dial tone detection failed. I rechecked the connection changed the telephone cable and also changed the filter but I still can't fax. How can I fix this?

Eleni.
Eleni.

Hi Josepht, I have only sent and received 1 fax so far, so am still learning this one myself. Sounds like you have done most everything you can - all I can suggest is read the suggestions in link below if you haven't already had a look in Epson. Another alternative would be check for newer or backdate drivers to see if that is problem, or if the machine is always on, do a long shut off. If you are also working through computer reboot that as well. For all I have Win 8, I sometimes find after a lot of multi tasking that a reboot fixes many small ills.

When using the automatic feed the process is stopping telling me, that the printer is jammed, or overheated, but none of these apply as there is no jammed paper, and the printer has not been working long enough to get overheated. Can you help?

Eleni.
Eleni.

Hi do you mean the paper feed at back for multiple printing or the Document feed on the top of the unit. At a guess I am presuming you are referring to the Paper feed. I have not had this problem, and the only jam I have suffered I extracted via the paper feed with no further problems.

Suggestions: Lift the unit top up until you can see the Cartridges and feed units - see if there is any lint or small pieces inside that shouldn't be there - the sensors may have dust on them - I have been known to use an empty sauce bottle to squeeze clean air into spaces, though a can of air is now quite cheap.

Probably won't hurt to do the same down the paper feed.

Next time you load paper, slide the stabilizer on the left out of the road, fan about 25 sheets of paper and load them in, then when they are sitting properly re align that stabilizer.

See if that helps. You might even want to run some air down the paper feed first.

I will be interested to hear if that helps.

When I copy my machine doesn't see a white background comes out with a light gary

Eleni.
Eleni.

I did a direct copy using printer keys of a strip of glossy image - Got clean white background. in Win 7 - Opening with Windows fax & scan I see a bit of light gray background, but not sure that it prints. Using Start, Devices& Printers WorkForce 435 option I get a menu offering 3 scan options -

Home (grey box) when scanned and saved - re opened in Paint & print preview still only seeing the image no gray background., Office (seems to scan fine) and Professional, with other settings that I didn't need to play with.

Hope this is enough info for you to work with. ( I have not updated my drivers from the installation disc that came with the printer in May 2012.)
