The UI is awful. All the buttons are flush with the cooktop, they're all like a smartphone touchscreen in that you can't be wearing gloves and need clean, dry fingers. They're not intuitive and with a larger pan they heat up a lot while cooking so you burn yourself trying to change settings. Build quality is good and seems to cook evenly. The only complaint is the cumbersome, ill-designed, counter-intuitive interface.

Do not buy this cooktop. It came with a rental, next time I'm going to be looking for one with buttons and knobs I can feel and turn.

User interface could be improved – Our previous induction cooktop stopped working after seven years of heavy use. We decided to buy this more expensive brand, because it boasts of a tough German Schott glass surface. Our previous cooktops had problems with chipping at the edges when any item is accidentally dropped on them, so we thought this new one be more durable. I look forward to seeing that. Anyway, my one gripe about this cooktop is its annoying user interface. It starts off in some form of locked mode. Pressing the on/off switch does nothing. The user manual does not help either. I think you have to press the on/off switch and the + buttons at the same time. I'm still not sure. Eventually, after pressing some random set of buttons, I was able to activate the controls. Or previous cooktop activated by just pressing the on/off switch. No drama required. Another annoyance is the way the heat level of each cooking zone is set. You have to press a + or a - button to the desired level. Our previous (cheaper) induction cooktop had a slider switch so that you set the heat level my sliding your fingers along the switch. Instead of sliding your finger, you could touch the switch directly at the level you want. Having to press a +/- switch is slow and cumbersome. You could even say it's primitive. This is disappointing for a cooktop that we were expecting to be an upgrade from our old one. Otherwise, this cooktop works as expected. It heats the pot of water quickly. It correctly senses when there is no pot on the cook zone.

I have since discovered that the on/off switch of the unit only engages if you keep it pressed for about 3 seconds or longer. Why isn't this indicated in the user manual? Another thing I experienced was the difficulty of registering the unit online. The documents that came with the unit said that I could mail in the registration form or do it online. When I went to their website, there was nothing on registration. They did send me a link after I made a customer complaint via their email link.
