Follow-up · Sound timing is poor. Unable to add or remove and many apps are to old to work. I was unable to update them. Freezing i believe is caused by VERY low grade CPU and memory. I bought a set top box for very little money and use the TV as a monitor. Allso for $21 i bought a dual bluetooth transmitter receiver. Unfortunately it does freeze after long periods of continued use, mostly when i play games. Well keep cool friends, bye.

out permanent dot the screen.The unit is of poor quality and TCL Falcon need to lift there game and produce something of substance and not rubbish.

They cut a lot of corners on this brand. I advise spending your money on better brands than deal with the time lost and frustrations.

Using this as a PC Monitor – Works Fine. I have a 4K desktop now. Crisp pixels even at native res. Sound is average, at least when I have it at 50cm from my face. I don't use the "smart" part because I just wanted a super cheap large monitor, and use the PC to make it "smart". it just for that. Lots of settings to get color the way you want it, including HDR settings. WiFi is fine, then again I have Range Extenders in the house. I already knew I was buying a "cheap-er model TV" but as long as I get say, 2Y out of this? Awesome, and I'll just buy a new one at this price. With these thin/light TV's if you can get a cheap/decent table VESA stand? Do it. They hold up fine on their small legs, but if you have CATS or KIDS, man, does not take MUCH force to make them topple, so either a stand OR tie them down onto something (TV actually comes with some small anchors). My previous FFalcon 40UF1 was killed by my cat.
If I could give no stars I would- barely a TV – No functionality - Would not scan tv channels or recognise chrome cast. Cannot use regular Australian tv channel apps like IView or 10now or ninemsn. play some videos gives a list of what it will play and quite often won,t play avi or mkv and once again just goes blank and on 2 occasions I have had to completely reset from scratch the unit to make it restart. JBHifi asked me to do a review on it and I was a lot softer than have been here but they said that they could not post the review . the picture is reasonable for the price. after a week I asked jbs about returning it and was told that they would have to test it to see if it did what I said and that if they swapped for another it would probably do the same I have never tried the software so can,t comment on it
You get what you pay for – Negative reviews I read for UF1 seem to apply equally to my "upgraded" 50UF2 50 inch Smart TV bought from JB Hi-Fi (FFALCON UF2 is their their home brand) a few weeks ago. stutter with multiple entries when a button is only pushed once. Also sometimes it locks up and I have to turn the TV off and on again to reboot - there is only an ON/OFF button on my UF2 TV so if the remote gives trouble then you are stuffed. Recommend to buy UF2 if you want a cheap Smart TV that will challenge you and possibly may not last that long. Be aware that its Linux operating system means that its Smart TV access is very limited because many nice Apps simply are not available on Linux that are provided on Android, such as many free view streaming services. If your preferred App is not pre-installed then you may not be able to get it. When this TV gives up I will spend a bit more next time. The UF2 manual is also limited. e.g. I could not enter an alpha/numeric password to link to my WiFi because the manual did not tell me to double press the OK button to pick up the alpha/numeric keypad (which I was told should automatically appear). However, thankfully a user review of UF1 told me how to do this.
Good value for a HD 50 inch Smart TV – To be able to purchase a full 50 inch HD smart TV for $500 is good value. Has the Netflix and Stan buttons on the remote for super easy streaming access. Also x onnects to wifi for watching YouTube. One issue is the speed of the TV from the remote inputs is not super fast, but good enough. Not a bad product, but I wish I did it differently – I'm not an expert and I've only had this TV for a day, but as far as I can tell it's a good product. However, if you want to buy an affordable TV, I would recommend that you buy a TV that has FHD (1080p) resolution and a diagonal measurement of about 40 inches. it is worth getting a 4K TV at the moment, mainly because there is almost no 4K content available in Australia right now.
Even if 4K content was mainstream, you would need a huge TV for the benefit of 4K resolution to be noticeable at reasonable viewing distances. I need to stand unreasonably close (about 1 m) to this TV to see individual pixels. Basic online research tells me that FHD (1080p) is fine for TVs up to about 40 inches. This number looks significantly smaller than 50 inches, but looking at the TV in my living room and pulling out a measuring tape, I feel that in real life the difference would be minimal.
And remember that streaming 4K content would use a lot of bandwidth. I am on an NBN25 plan, and I'm not sure it would be enough to stream 4K content reliably.
I was planning to get a Chromecast with this TV, as my understanding is that in general, affordable TVs have bad smart TV user interfaces. This one seemed pretty good, but it didn't have ABC iView out of the box, which was a deal breaker for me. 4K vs FHD also has an effect here, because the basic Chromecast (about $60) supports FHD but not 4K. If you want 4K, you have to get the Chromecast with Google TV (about $90). I have had some issues with the user interface of the Chromecast with Google TV, but I'll save that for my review of that product.
Again, this isn't a bad product, but in the end I think I spent $130 more than I needed to on specifications that don't make much difference.

our previous 50" TV. The remote is OK but feels a little flimsy so we use our older more sturdy TCL remote instead and it works fine - we tend to drop remotes quite a lot so will keep the Ffalcon one for when we really need to use it. So far we are really happy with the TV. Ffalcon are made by TCL and we have quite a few of them and have been quite happy with them especially for the price. TV was easy to set up and get running.
