HORRIBLE PRODUCT - HORRIBLE COMPANY – If you ever value cooking food properly stay away from any Fisher & Paykel Product. This Induction cooktop does not work properly with induction cookware. They are even aware of this saying 'not all induction cookware works with our cooktops' ! Plain facts are, it does not cook food properly. Food on inside of pan burns and outside remains raw, so… Read more
you constantly are moving food around to get it cooked. What a disgrace. Contacted them many many times and they refuse to budge, saying it works as directed. So now it's a matter for VCAT. So my advice, do not buy any F&P products, they are sub par, and provide zero support if you have any problems. They sent out a technician, who has never cooked on or used any induction cookware, yet could say it was working properly! I am angry and disgusted in wasting good money on this utter useless product.
Fast heating, plenty of space – Like cooking on gas, but without the hassle as we don't have piped gas in our area. This cooktop can draw serious power: around 10Kw (a mitsubishi i-Miev car can produce around 50Kw of peak power). So I've been impressed at how fast it can boil an egg. manage cooking multiple dishes, or multiple components of a dish at the same time. The response time of the pan your cooking in is great; food instantly increases or decreases in temperature as you adjust the settings, just like gas.
The draw backs are the touch sensitivity for controlling and adjusting your settings as you cook, as finger tips that are too wet, or too dry just don't register.... if somethings starting to burn, and you've just washed your hands, you can't adjust the temperature setting, you have to manually remove the pan.
We paid around $2000 for this cooktop, and for that sort of money, the digital displays shouldn't read like a microwave oven from the 1980's.
