Door has developed cracks on the front panel. Apparently not covered by warranty.
Works fine, just normal washing. Controls are easy to use and we are satisfied with the cycle times. It does t@ke a little bit too long to dry. Machine could be higher as when you are older, putting in and taking out is sometimes hard.

No star Garbage
It’s a washer dryer combo stopped working just about an year time. Service call took 1 month or more to arrive. The guy said super confident he fixed though I told him, yes it will look heated but after he out of my front door, I did a washer dryer cycle and returned fully drenched/ socked cloths. Waiting for Monday to raise another service calls and I am sure will take another month and half. Terrible, never buy this

Great to begin with but now noisy
When we first started using it was great but now after only a short time the dryer makes this horrible loud sound which never stops. We have had a technician come to fix but says there is nothing wrong with it and it is only a little air escaping but when we first started using it was not doing this.

Useless, Slow and nearly caught fire!
Should not have bought. Even on quick cycle it takes around 4 hours to wash and dry. After just 18 months wont dry and nearly caught fire!! not happy! Also - the amount of lint after each load - accumulates around door.

Everything is going well with mine
With the negative reviews around, I must admit I was hesitant to buy a washer/dryer combo. But as I have a one bedroom apartment, space is a premium. The Fisher and Paykel washer dryer combo has been perfect. So far so good, a bit over a year in now. The F&P top loader I had before was still going strong 15 years on and after moving all over the country, but unfortunately I eventually had to downsize. My main negative (and I believe its a front loader thing vs a brand issue) is the towels do end up a bit crunchy/ruff. But I've sorted that by us...ing the dryer on them every time. That way they come out perfect and fluffy. The machine is really quiet in my opinion, I wouldn't use it when I'm sleeping, there is a time delay function for that kind of thing anyway. The wash/dry function on for example 5 towels is under 4 hours... To me that would be less than a wash cycle, remembering it's there, transferring to a dryer, etc.

Awesome piece of gear
I use this machine minimum, 1x daily, but generally it gets 2x loads a day- I always use the wash & dry function, except in summer, for sheets. This is my 2nd such machine in about 6 years, the first being a bundle, with Dryer & separate washer ...when washer died, I upgraded to the all in one.... I love it. It is easy, quiet, a quick 30min wash, with the dry function is only 3-4 hours max, and I have never had a problem with any blockages.. we are farmers, so clothing is filthy, and this machine is nearly 3 years old. I'm about to purch...ase and install a 2nd machine, as other house inhabitants are bigger, older, and now can do their own washing, so we can churn through at least 5 or 6 loads a day through winter, without having clothesline fails in the rain. It is super easy to use, quiet and fast.

Three breakdowns in 2.5 years - unacceptably slow after care service
If you use the drying function regularly, this machine will clog with lint. The lint build up will eventually prevent proper drainage, meaning your clothes neither clean nor dry. The first time this occurred for me, the technician told me it happens all the time with this model, and I shouldn't use the dry function more than once a week. Not a great outcome, given I bought it to dry my clothes after every load (I live in a small apartment) - but after thinking it through carefully I bit the bullet and bought a separate dryer.
Over time the pr...oblem has occurred again, and the technician is now unable to fix it. And it's now just out of warranty. So I spent $1400 for a washer/dryer that couldn't dry after 18 months, and now can't wash either at 28 months. Each time it's needed a service I've had to wait at least 2 weeks for someone to show up, after waiting at least an hour on the phone to book the service. The standard of technicians is really variable - the last one told me the problems were caused because I was using washing liquid instead of powder... These design/quality/aftercare issues are just unacceptable for premium products that should last at least 10 years.

Quiet and effective dryer
What we like:
Very quiet. Would hardly know the spin cycle is active. Loudest phase is the water fill
Clothes come out as dry as selected.
What we do not like:
Maximum start delay is 12 hours. Main use of delayed start is to take advantage of peak solar power the following day. Given that we often load the machine just after dinner when we are cleaning up, 14+ hour delay during winter is often required
Washer dryer combos often do not get great reviews because of poor drying performance, however the WD8560F1 has performed well with item...s being dried according to the setting selected. We have a small house where the laundry is very close to our kitchen and we can leave the door open when eating dinner or watching TV without being interrupted. If it was not for the 12 hour limitation on delayed starts, I would rate this 5/5

The machine failed three times in 3 years- all separate faults. We had product care from Harvey Norman who eventually just gave us a credit to replace with another brand. We were out of pocket as we lost our reloading product care warranty and also cost of machine was now higher. The after sales was also frustrating, lots of phone calls promised to be returned but never were.

Was doing fine, then just completely died.
With a family of 5, this machine held up admirably for just over 2 years. It's very loud, and sometimes a heavy wash/dry cycle will take 7 - 8 hours BUT generally it did the job.
Right after warranty expires though, it starts emitting a burning smell and the barrel stops turning. I called for machine repair and they said it wasn't worth it, I just needed to dump it and buy a new one.
So, yeah, I expect a reasonably expensive whitegood to last much longer than 2 years. But after reading all of the other reviews here, I can see there are many others who's machine died early and suddenly. I do not recommend. Good luck if you choose to get one.

Within 4 months of buying we needed a replacement dryer part and bearings went. Tech company terrible made appointments and never showed up after 6 months finally replaced with new washer. Told me if it happened again it was the fault of solar panels and they wouldn't replace it. Within 4 months of having the new one same issue.....so frustrated just bought a top loader from Samsung will never purchase Fisher panel again.... they also need to review their service people in regional Vic.

Terrible after sales service!!
Only 12 months old. Within 2 year warranty. Broke down. Waiting two weeks for repair.
No washer. No dryer. Been going to laundromat for weeks.
Don’t buy F and P.

Constant service calls, and poor performance even when it is 'working'
We bought two identical machines in July 2018 as we had previously owned F&P washer and dryer which had provided good service over many years. Within a week of receiving the new machines a service call was required due to a faulty sensor. From then to now (Aug 2020) we have had 4 further repairs on these machines. Error 13 seems to occur regularly. We have complained to F&P however they appear disinterested. We have gone from strong F&P advocates to feeling like they have robbed us of several thousand. We have now decided to cut our losses and...throw away these machines and buy a better brand. Even when 'working' the performance is poor. The drying function is completely ineffective. The only way we could make it work was to increase to max spin speed AND then use the extra dry function which pushes even a short cycle out to over 3 hrs. Incredibly dissapointed with these machines, and having two I feel confident the poor performance is not caused by a lemon device, but rather just poor design.

Very disappointed with this machine. The seal gasket melted within months and then came off entirely and the silver detail peaked within the year. Having the faults repaired has been a time consuming exercise that has involved repeat calls to the customer service centre - the first representative did not accurately record the details of the fault or order the correct parts to repair. I would not recommend this product.

Always Out of Balance Error... Don't buy F&P
This machine is always showing out of balance error we have tried all the possible options but no use. Worst company. Very expensive and worthless. So please go for any other machine.
Questions & Answers
My drum clean light won’t turn off and it also won’t do a 800 spin when on a cycle?
My daughter has just bought washer/dryer combo but said it isn’t drying her clothes, had only her undergarments in, after two drying cycles they were still quite damp! Is she using a wrong setting?
Does this mean you don’t have an answer to a product you sell?
I find this too. Only dries well if not much in the machine. So wash then take half out. Or just do 2 loads instead of 1. Not an ideal solution, wish I'd known this before purchasing it.
I found my clothes came out of the dryer quite wet so I just made a clothesline in the carport. This machine is overpriced crap.
When using the drying function only. I just like to use a dryer to finish off the drying process when clothes have been hanging out. Can you just put in for 5-10 minutes and open the door to check then keep opening and checking till its dry? Or does it have to do a full dry cycle and you can't open the door?
If you put them in for 5 mins then want to open it you have to wait like half an hr for the machine to "cool" before the door will unlock..

What have reviewers thought of the Fisher & Paykel WD8560F1 Washer Dryer?
There were more negative than positive reviews of this washer dryer. Reviewers who left negative feedback said that their machine needed repairs in as little as 1 year after purchase.
A number of reviewers were also less than impressed with the after sales service. They found it difficult to get through to customer service, experienced long wait times on the phone, and said that staff didn’t return calls or action requests when they said they would. The overall sentiment was that the aftercare was inadequate for a product that should last years.
One common point of praise for this machine was how quiet it was. Reviewers were also divided on the washer dryer’s performance; while some said it was efficient and clothes came out clean and dry, others said that it took over 6 or more hours for their laundry to finish, and that sometimes their clothes didn’t come out dry.
