Amazing device! – When I first bought a Floatron over 20 years ago, I was spending so much money on pool chlorine and other chemicals as our pool was being heavily used by lots of children. I recouped the value of the device in savings on chemicals in the first season! The water is always beautiful - soft, easy on the eyes and swimsuits, dense so that you float… Read more
more easily. Only needs a chlorine tablet in the feeder to keep the water crystalline. Can't recommend it too highly.
Ok if your Pool is Reasonably Maintained – I bought a Floatron years back and had some satisfactory use from it, but eventually (after ~ 3 years) the seals must have given as it started taking in water and was floating lopsided. I couldn't see a way to repair the seals so I put it away and went back to chlorine out of necessity. Otherwise the item worked ok with the copper dissolving into the pool with the help of the solar powered anode. Show details
Brilliant – Absolutely great, bought it originally even though they couldnt say if it would work as my pool has a uv filter roof, it wotks fine , hardly used any clorine in just under 4 years, forgot to order and my pool started to go off a tablet every 5 days cant wait for my new bars to come. No use what so ever. Useless machine – Having to use the same amount of chemicals as before floatron so what’s the point. I feel like throwing it in the rubbish. I will try to sell it to get some money back as there is no use for it. I wouldn’t recommend it to nobody you will be wasting your money. Show details
Fantastic – Had one for over 8 years. Chlorine pool. Changed the copper rod each other year, removed over winter as the water gets to below 20 degrees C; algae doesn't like cold water. The copper sulfate kills the algae and is chemically neutral and therefore with a reduction in chlorine you don't need to add buckets of other chemicals to control your PH… Read more
levels. The other added benefit is less chlorine, the plastic pool cleaner lasts longer.
I can go away for two weeks with the automatic pool cleaner crawling around. Never concerned about having a algae bloom. Come home the Chlorine is zero, put a few cups in and away you go.
In Australia they are not passed by some health department, so you can only get one for the pond.
Perfect for keeping your pool in top condition – We have had our unit 12 months and it keeps the water sparkling all the time. 65000 lts . Very little maintenance, very few chemicals needed, no sore eyes from chlorine. Cost approx $100 a yr for new element Lots in use in USA. A bit expensive initially but minimal salt or chloride required
Doesn't seem to work so far – I have had the floatron in my pool for the past couple of months and tested it the other day for the level of ionization. I was disappointed to see it was virtually non existent based on the colour chart in the testing kit. Don't believe all the hype on this product as I did or you might be disappointed as I am.
Just get one! – These gadgets will save you a fortune in chemicals. Pool shops absolutely hate them because they like making money selling you chemicals! I now use maybe 1/5 the chlorine that I used to, pool always looks sparkling. If you have a salt water pool, you can just let the salt content naturally drop from diluting till the chlorinator produces far… Read more
less chlorine. If you have a fresh water pool, just add far less chlorine.
Mine is fresh water, I just add a little chlorine once every five to seven days.
Mine also came from the US, awesome gadget.
Another benefit if you have a vinyl lined pool is that the liner will last longer- chlorine kills liners!

Beats chlorine in any aspect – I bought a Floatron ioniser for my 20,000l pool 6 months ago. Since then, my pool pump related power consumption has dropped to 1/3, I only used a cup of chlorine on 3 occasions after a heavy swimmer load and/or high intake of leaf debris, and the water quality is so much improved that it tastes better than tap water. Maintenance is reduced to… Read more
