Absolute beautiful car – This car is the most comfortable car I have ever owned, it is a freak on fuel we have never come across a car with the fuel economy as this car, it is very stylish and has got the power similar to an XR6, for a diesel car it does not sound like one it is quiet, I will not be selling this car for a very long time. Great, Reliable and great safety features packed in a car – Great economy, power and agility, love it .145,000 from 89000 hasht missed a beat. 2litre Diesel has some surprising grunt in it. Airbags all round including rear seatbelt bags. Been through several falcons but love this comfort and no brake wobble after time from overheating brakes. A joy to drive, hate adding kms to it for work purposes. Show details
Hidden gem of a car – My first Modeo wagon was back in 2010 and this is my third one(renew every 3 years) and the best so far. This car has excellent road handling, heaps of torque, all the bells & whistles you need in a car such as -easy to use touch screen with no fuss sat nav -alloy wheels -driving lights -huge cargo space -usb ports -great sound system -… Read more

The list goes on. I also occasionally drive my wife’s Audi and this car comes pretty close for comparison to drive.
I do approx 45,000 kms a year and have had no issues with any of my Mondeo’s.
If your looking to buy a wagon just take it for a drive, you wont be disappointed.
Great car but some quality issues – My September delivered 2016 Mondeo MD Ambiente Wagon. Love the diesel very quite and fuel efficient. Sync 3 has had some issues the volume sometimes goes up and down on its own and you have to turn the car off to reset. The A/C when stopped in traffic( with auto stop disabled) starts to blow warm air. The steering wheel started to peel a couple… Read more
of days ago after it bubbled in the recent Sydney heat wave. The car is 4 months old with 10k on it. Hopefully ford Australia come to the party for the steering wheel. Never mind the 7 months wait for it! I have done 55,000kms know and mechanically the car is faultless. My steering wheel was replaced but the new one has just bubbled a few weeks ago on a hot day in Sydney. The interior drivers door panel has worn away where I rest my arm while driving. My FG Falcon G6ET that has 117,000kms has no wear on either. Good car , the interior isn't the toughest and I'm not rough on cars. Truthfully I will be moving it on in 20,000kms and I will be getting a VW Passat wagon due to the issues I have found on the Mondeo.
Mondeo MD 2016 Diesel Wagon Test Drive – There is prior review of the older MC Model from me which reflects on this test drive report of a base model MD Diesel Wagon. My complaint of the MC has been totally resolved by this MD model. This was tyre roar on coarse chip sealed bitumen from the OEM fitted Goodyear Efficient Grip to my MC being 215/50/17 size. The extra sound proofing and… Read more
the acoustic glass windshield and side glass have paid off as the test car with the same tyres (but 235 wide) was absolutely quiet on the same roads. Off course, new tyres with new soft and deep rubber will be better than worn down rubber, and I am acting on my memory of what I remember of those MC same tyres. In my MC review I bag those tyres, but the fault is now revealed by this MD as the car not the tyres.
Efficient Grip are claimed to be G/Years quietest on their web site, but Ford being cheap skates in stripping the car to make it more fuel efficient or just being greedy to save money.
The base model wagons seem to have as OEM fitting Good year E/Grip and the Trend and Titanium have Michelin Primacy 3 ST's. I have fitted those to my MC wagon as being ultra quiet by the web and it has turned out to be so.
Those MC tyres wore out at 37 000 KM and the Michelin's cost Aust. $239 each fitted and balanced.
The MD Wagon here in Australia has privacy dark glass fitted from behind the B pillar to the back, and I found that when parked in the shade, it was too dark looking in the rear vision mirror to exit back onto the road having pulled up. It was like dangerous, and I had to use the external wing mirror for safety.
The auto stop / start feature was an unnecessary feature in stop start traffic when creeping along.
The 2 litre 143 kw /400 NM diesel has a bit more grunt than my weaker 2 Litre MC, and this MD motor tune is much more refined and is much much preferred.
The MC feels like it has been tuned for too much economy and goes to higher than needed gear too early and struggles.
The MD has got it right Mr Ford, but the panel fit of these Spanish assembled cars is hit and miss still, some 6 + months after release. Not so good.
