Foxtel Now Questions & Answers

The service was average and they promised me contact to install the free to air channels with in 24 hours. I'm now 270 hours and waiting, twice they said they would call back with in 15 minutes and never called back. Horrific customer service. Ps the hours are still going up. Cut the cord Foxtel is dead

I tried Customer Service one more time, they find it difficult to give a detailed answer, so we just don't know what we get and what we don't get. We will take a screen shot before the trial period expires and then take a screen shot when the $25 per month subscription kicks in, then we will see what the actual difference is for channels, movies, options.

I find the time and effort taken so far has been more than the cost for one month of subscription to find out ourselves.

I have found it too difficult to get an answer from Customer Service about what is included in the Essentials $25 per month that will be billed after the 10 day trial. So I just paid it to find out. I did tell them that I had started watching "flight attendant" and asked if it was included in the $25 Essentials, the reply was YES.

Customer Service was wrong, because almost everything is LOCKED out.

I can watch free to air TV and about 20 uninspiring Documentaries that have been on TV and YouTube. I can watch Friends.

None of the Movies are available.

Foxtel One channel is locked.

I am still looking for something to watch.

Never will I ever get a contract with FOXTEL- that's asking for it!

Hi Dave, oh my gosh, thank you so much. I had no idea that this existed on Binge. Since when? I signed up straight away and now watching 48hrs lol whilst writing my reply. Thanks DEE, but...Unfortunately Binge is blocked from loading on OUR three Foxtel Now boxes. (How did you load it?) So we have three of these things and cannot use them with Binge (by Foxtel) but we did install something named Binge until we found out it was a completely different streaming service. A lot of other language stuff.

Since we paid for Binge (by Foxtel) before realising we could not use it with Foxtel Now boxes, we were using on an Android tablet. Then we shared the feed with the in-built Chromecast on Foxtel Now box. Just when we think we are getting some use from the Foxtel now boxes, we find the login has expired and we have to manually enter a password. We convinced ourselves that we just put up with entering the password and the Chromecast passthrough for Binge and also the TV antenna plugged in for free to air TV. Changing channels is tedious because there isn't any way of deleting the display of locked channels on the screen. The Foxtel Now boxes have a lower quality free to air TV tuner that our TV so we are unable to use it easily for free to air TV. Then someone plugged in a Google Chromecast dongle and we realised that our life is much easier without using the Foxtel Now box. The Foxtel Now box would be OK if we invested in a more powerful mast head antenna amplifier, if we didn't have to type in the password again and again, if we could delete blocked channels, if we could load Binge. It would be heaps better if Foxtel was only $10 per month (and blocked channels are hidden)

We have read that these boxes are hackable, because Foxtel has loaded bloatware on top of the real OS. If the Foxtel Now bloatware is bypassed then we can load up Android TV and load Binge.

Our Foxtel Now boxes run Android 7 ??? is that right? If Foxtel isn't going to support this box any longer, then they should release the unlock code so we don't have to keep logging into a Foxtel account that doesn't do anything. We could still use the Google Chromecast if we didn't have to keep logging into a Foxtel account.... How can we root these devices?

My complaint should be answered properly. Not by some smart people from Foxtel being totally unprofessional with that benign answer. There are many complaints needing solution or answers. Where are your suggestions to fix what I have pointed out clearly.

All free to air channels available by satellite or cable (not free to air antennas) pay foxtel/telstra broadcast fees to relay their channels over the foxtel platform. If a FTA channel gets removed, it's nothing to do with foxtel. After all it is a completely different service...

In their money hungry ways, as they know they will no longer be needed by the public, they are trying every trick to get more of your money whilst offering much less. Oh dear, they are gone!

Yep have the sports pack, pretty good picture but not as good as when we had a cable box.

Yes I have sports pack for NRL, pictures fine the only thing is live TV is about 15 to 20 seconds behind

Foxtel now is performing a lot better since we got NBN.
