Thinking of buying a Franke sink? Maybe think again. We've been without a working kitchen for almost two months: 1. Franke Sink No.1 arrives- its damaged with bent corners- it's sent back. 2. Two weeks later, Franke Sink No. 2 arrives- this one is damaged even worse than the first one. I ring Franke customer service the same day to ask if they could check the item before sending out a third sink to confirm it's also not damaged, and if they could expedite delivery to help. The customer service lady didn't know the answer to either question and had nothing to say except asking me to send photos- which I immediately did. I also emailed Franke twice the same day asking for help. 3. Almost two weeks later, I still haven't heard back from Franke. 4. Today - Sink No 3 arrives - also damaged!

After two months of doing the dishes in the laundry, we've ended up getting a different brand sink instead.

Scratches so easily & the badly designed plug & waste – I've recently purchased a Franke sink as this was the only option to fit the existing stone bench cut-out in our kitchen makeover. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. We've only moved in a few weeks ago and I had been given some Australian native flowers which I simply rested on the sink while I filled the vase. Later I realised even putting them on the sink was enough to leave scratches.... I knew then this was not going to be resilient like the Olivie I'd had previously, the Franke always looks streaky and marked, so I'm constantly wiping it.

Next, I noticed when the sink is full of wash up water, I can't remove the waste plug just with my hand. The waste collects all sorts of food particles underneath from the water and has already started to lightly rust. I need to actually wrap my hand in a cloth to be able to get enough grip to remove the plug. I'd suggest this is both poor design & manufacture (wish I'd not been so limited in my options and could get a better brand).

Hello, We are sorry to hear about your disappointment. When it comes to the waste, some of our sinks have a remote push-button waste option, which can save you the trouble of manually removing the waste plug. Unfortunately, the sink that you might have chosen didn’t have this option. Additionally, please see below link for further information on care and maintenance instructions for your Franke stainless steel sink: external link

We care about your experience, so please feel free to get in touch with us at HS-CustomerCare.AU@franke.com or give us a call at (03) 9700 9100. We would be more than happy to help you further.

Regards, Franke Australia.

Thanks for your response, however it doesn't really help me much. Firstly, the Inox cream cleaner is available from where? It was not suggested at point of purchase nor should I need to purchase an additional product specifically to clean your sink in my opinion. Secondly, you told me I didn't select the correct sink with the easy to remove waste - shouldn't they all be easy to remove? I stand by my comments about the poor design and construction.

Franke, as I detest using these sinks (due to the dreadful design flaw of the waste), I’m wondering have you manufactured another waste that would be easy to fit after purchase? There’s an idea for you if you haven’t as these sinks are really not fit for purpose. Any woman who has long nails wouldn’t be able to remove this waste. Even a struggle when filled with hot soapy water if you wear gloves. Please advise what can be done about this?
