Franke PZX220-39FPC Plaza Double Sink Bowl

Very Disappointed – We have renovated our kitchen over the last month. The Franke sink has been in about 3 weeks but within 2 weeks have noticed many scratches in both bowels from normal household washing up. Have kept photographs and have contacted the supplier. Very disappointed in the quality of the stainless steel.

A lot of money for a lot of scratches – I spent many hours researching kitchen sinks before deciding on this one. We built a house 6 months ago and I wanted to get my choice right. For the most part, I think I did. However, I agree with the other review about the scratches. I was hugely disappointed after the first time I used it and noticed how many scratches were left covering the bowls, and not from being careless or from banging around large pots or pans, it was from a normal basin load of everyday items.
Our previous house had an Oliveri Petite sink and it seemed to fare better than this one. I don't remember ever being shocked at how easily it scratched, but this Franke sink definitely shocked me. I thought I was buying a quality stainless steel, but obviously that's a misconception.
On the plus side, I love the size and depth of the bowls, everything fits, and I'm really glad I went with a top mounted sink instead of undermount. I will never need to worry about chipping the edges of our stone benchtop. It's modern, has a streamlined look and easy to clean (with the right tap).
I just wish it didn't scratch so easily, I didn't buy it for 'rustic' features, I loved the classy stainless steel appearance and hoped it would've stayed that way.

Such a disappointment!! – We renovated our kitchen a few months back. This included a Franke Sink from the Good Guys where the sales service was excellent. The sink cost $1000 which certainly was not cheap, but we were seeking quality. The sink was from the stainless steel PLANAR range and with a warranty of 50 years. Installation went smoothly. Here's the problem! From Day 1 the sink marks/scratches frequently. Any metal such as saucepans [just one example] have to be handled and washed with super care so as to not damage the "stainless steel". With the benefit of hindsight we could have gone to a local hardware store and bought a Chinese manufactured sink for a fraction of the price. We're hoping that we just got a "dud" and that Franke will live up to what we had previously thought to be a good reputation for producing quality products.
I contacted customer care and they told me scratching like we are experiencing is normal. It might be good if they put tis information on their sales brochures...
