Like everyone else, the pulling and sagging is like nothing I’ve ever experienced. Im a petite female, live alone and so the “wear and tear” is minimal but weeks after purchasing I regretted it. It looks cheaper than an ikea sofa and the more you de pill the more you remove the flecks of colour, which makes it look worse. Attached photos are of behind back cushion untouched and where new pilling is starting once again

Good Morning Shez, Pilling can occur occasionally as a result of normal daily wear and should not be considered as a fault. There are many variables which can trigger pilling, including climatic conditions, atmospheric purity and user environment. Even specific clothing types (fleecy tracksuits, etc) can transfer pills from the clothing to the furniture fabric. As the fabric surface is rubbed, a single or small group of loose fibres on the surface begins to twist upon itself, forming tiny balls or ‘pills’. Often the catalyst that starts this process is a foreign fibre or speck of dirt.

Pilling can be successfully removed with battery operated pilling tools available to purchase in-store. ‘De-pilling’ only removes unsightly loose surface fibres and does not affect fabric performance.

disappointed – I was replacing the same sofa that I had for 16years that was amazing quality, the new one is only 6 months old and is looking worse than the one I just gave away. The fabric quality and cushion filling is poor quality and looks cheap. Im so disappointed and wish id just got the original one reupholstered even thought that would have cost more.

Purchased in at Freedom NSW for $2,279.

And a disappointing response. I have a trade account and an interior design career of 35 years to be advised how to clean it and depill an upholstery that shouldnt pill and how "FLUFF" cushions.... I will not be specifying any freedom products for my clients if this is the service received on an inferior product.

Hi Michelle, pilling is a common occurrence caused by friction and can happen with many fabrics. It's completely normal and can be safely removed with a de-piller or fabric shaver, which will help restore your sofa’s appearance without affecting the fabric quality. If regular de-pilling doesn’t resolve the issue, please feel free to visit our Help Centre on the website, where you’ll find relevant claim forms for further assistance. Team Freedom

Not worth the cost – Same as other reviewer - severe pilling & sagging looks like a couch I’ve had for decades and I spent a lot of money. Freedom’s customer service is beyond terrible, have even taken them to fair trading.

Purchased in at Freedom for $3,500.

Hi, kindly note you can safely use an electric de-piller without compromising fabric quality, reach out to your claim agent for any further information required! Team Freedom

I can’t, the de-piller I have can’t keep up with the size of the couch and the amount of pills. The fabric is known by Freedom to pill badly and Customers should be told that at purchase.

Terrible couch – 2 months after purchasing the Salsie modular couch the 2 corner cushions started to become very thin making it very hard to get out of. I spoke to customer service and they advised me that it was normal wear and tear. This is not normal wear and tear! I’m very disappointed with this purchase. It cost over $4,000 to purchase and I’m embarrassed to have friends over to sit on it.

Unhappy with Salsie modular couch – 2 months after purchasing the Salsie modular couch the 2 corner cushions that you sit on become very flat making it uncomfortable and hard to get out of. Contacted customer service who advised me that this was just normal wear and tear. This is not normal wear and tear. I feel like I’m sitting on the floor. The couch cost over $4,000 and I’m embarrassed to have friends over to sit on it.

I have and they said it was wear and tear? Which it is not.
