Very good timer despite hopeless instoffructions – Once I understood HOW to use it, I found this timer very reliable and easy to programme. Left it on while we went away for a week midsummer- did the job beautifully. But the instruction book was atrocious, something which is far too common these days. They would have been better off simply giving a website address (which they didn't). Fortunately… Read more
it was easy enough to do a general search and find the vid on youtube. Good video, good instructions, which is more than can be said for the book which came with the product.
Great Water Timer – Working straight out of the box with easy intuitive instructions and settings Show details
Goes through batteries weekly – Purchased one year ago and the thing just eats batteries. I bought it to water my lawn once every two days through summer. Last summer I used two batteries in 3 months, so far in 2023 I've gone through 3 batteries in 3 weeks. It's insane. It's installed in a sheltered location, but will get some rain on it. When removing the unit to replace the… Read more
battery you can hear water sloshing around inside it. It's an outdoor garden timer, it should handle some rain on it.
Simple to use dial with LARGE easy read markings – This is the only garden timer I’ve found that has easy to turn dials with large markings, a wide range of watering durations and frequencies, delayed start and water now and off options. And it has a 2 year warranty! It needs a 9 volt battery (not supplied), and setting it up is very simple - rotate the larger dial to choose the watering… Read more
duration, then the smaller dial to choose the frequency and IMMEDIATELY press the +1hr button for the number of hours that you want to delay the watering by. Wait for the light to flash 3 times to confirm acceptance of your setting choices, and that’s it.
To water manually, rotate the larger dial to the tap icon and the unit waters for 30 minutes. Or you can choose the duration and frequency without the delay start, and the watering starts immediately and will repeat at the time of day that you set the unit.
Another neat option is the dial unit is detachable from the housing, so you can detach it to set it then pop it back into the housing. No need to crouch down in an uncomfortable position.
The only con to me is that all settings are wiped when the dials are turned. So, for example, if I wanted to give the garden an additional evening drink on a very hot day, I have to reset the timer after that drink. If there was a way to keep settings intact with a “water now” over-ride, this unit will rate 5 stars.
