I LOVE this machine, except – The best roast dinners, especially veggies, ever! It caramalises/crisps and cooks to perfection. I absolutely LOVE this machine BUT this is the second machine I've purchased where the digital display fails so you can't see if you're in warm-up mode, nor how long you have left in the cooking process (or indeed what time you set your timer at in the… Read more

first place). After the first display broke (despite still operational), I purchased a new model but within a year, this has done the same thing. The machine still works, but it makes it really difficult to cook. I've learnt to work with counting the clicks of the button to know how many minutes I'm setting (plus use the microwave timer) but they need to fix this issue!!

A great cooker, except - - - - – Excellent machine except the digital display timer has failed on both of the machines I have had in the last 5 or 6 years. Otherwise I can highly recommend it. If the timer problem could be solved, it can't be that hard, then this would be the only small cooker you would need.  Show details

This is an excellent roaster, no need for an oven – I have purchased two of these roasting cookers in the past 5 years and both have performed excellently, they cook the meat perfectly, so no need to have an oven or waste time with other items. Sadly the LCD timer units on both units have failed and as it has been discontinued it is not possible to get the timers replaced or repaired. George… Read more

Foreman needs to be informed that his named cooker needs to be manufactured again as I feel certain anyone purchasing it would be delighted with the product "EXCEPT" the faulty timer units that I am sure could be replaced with a better or should I say more reliable timer device.

July 11th 2017 Update: This is an excellent roaster, no need for an oven.

This is an excellent product and works brilliantly, I am however disappointed with this roaster as it loses its LED readout on the timer. I have tried contacting the service agents to get it repaired, but they appear to have dropped off the system as their phone is not connected anymore.

Great results but timer fails – Have had two inthe last few years and both have lost their digital display after a few months. I can still use it but have to judge timing by using dodgy displayed parts of numbers. One would expect the system to last as long as the appliance. Very disappointed in this.  Show details

Love it – Pork - I find it does the BEST crackling, better than the oven. Just keep the crackling side down and away you go. Chicken - fantastic crispy on the outside, moist on the inside. Veges - when there is 45 mins to go I pile the potatoes, onion, carrots, pumpkin on top. Very yummy. Soon to experiment with tinfoil around the veges to prevent… Read more

occasional burning (but it's yummy burn flavour!)

Lamb / Beef - just as yummy and easy.

This all creates a one pot meal with easy clean-up and lovely flavours.

Fully agree with using a meat thermometer, no matter what appliance you are using for your meat. This ensures the optimum temperature for health, taste, and eliminates the need to constantly check as other GFR users have reported.

Ideal small roaster for the two of us – It is big enough to roast a chicken for the two of us and cooked other small joints of meat in the roaster. Keeps the food moist and tender. Easy to clean with the drip tray underneath collecting all the fat and liquids from the roast. The tray you insert when you want to cook with liquid has shown signs of rust. Unfortunately you cannot get replacement spare parts for this machine the Australian suppliers do not stock them.

Great for two adults, too small for even a small family – Set and forget, even for a young non-cooking male. I wore out one about ten years ago (pre-children). The Teflon coating quality is not fantastic, just acceptable, but cooked a beautiful roast beef, lamb or chicken, with proper roast vegies, especially onions, every time and lasted for a couple of years when used weekly before it started… Read more

flaking. I sought out the new black one for the family but disappointingly, is only available in the same small size.

Great for cooking juicy chicken – Love this for cooking chicken pieces or whole chicken. I cook half chicken or pieces with vegetables for a small roast for one. Chicken comes out brown and juicy and vegies are nicely browned if coated in oil first (turn all halfway through cooking) Will cook other meats as well. Sloped so excess fat drains out into tray underneath. Has a tray for… Read more

cooking casseroles and desserts (recipes in manual). Easy to wipe clean. Timer works ok but not very loud so I set my louder timer as well.

George Foreman Lean Mean Roasting Machine – I bought this at The Good Guys a few days ago and for the price they had it at it was well worth the money. I cooked a 2kg chicken in it and it turned out perfect. Because the chicken was a bit big, I cooked it earlier and put it in the oven to warm later. I then decided to roast some vegetables like potatoes, pumpkin and carrots and once again… Read more

turned out perfect. This machine is worth the money and I will be doing my roasts in future in the GFRM.

It is also very easy to use and clean. Doesn't overheat like some products and cooks to perfection.

Fantasic – I used this for the first time at my mothers house.we both loved it.Took me approximately 5-1 mins preparation .Was easy.,put the vegetables and chicken legs in with the marinate put timer on 40 mins. The meal was cooked and even browned. My mother thought it would just steam it . And was very tasty. My mother is going to buy one herself. So great… Read more
