Great camper, expensive but worth it!
We bought this camper about 18 months ago. It's big, and fits our family of 4 easily! It's also very waterproof as last Easter it poured with rain for 3 days while we were at Straddie, and no water got in at all. Lots of storage highly recommended!
Purchased in June 2018 for A$16,750.00.
Couldn’t be happier
We purchased this camper at the start of the year, and have since had it out a heap of times now with no drama’s at all. I have made a few modifications so it suits us abit better (I do this to anything I buy) but overall we couldn’t be happier. The trailer is heavy and has a heap of storage compartments so you have to watch how much weight you pack in but other then that, this family of 4 has no complaints.
Gutted at Brisbane Customer Service
We were expecting delivery this week of our Delta from Black Series Campers. Not only did it take 4 or so days for the finance guy to get back to us, we discovered the week we were meant to pick it up that one had never been allocated to us. We had paid a deposit and changed from finance to cash and went to the show room. We were offered the demo model for a reduced price, but we were unable to have a look inside to make sure it wasn't damaged etc because the "workshop floor is too dirty" and we would "have to take it as it is. If we open it up...be prepared for it to get dirtier". Fair call, but we were not going to pay for something second hand that we hadn't even seen and had done 2 camping shows and had hundreds of people tramp through. We were not even offered to come inside the office and make a call to Head Office in Sydney, we ended up doing this from our car on the way home..not only was I crying and very upset, but so were our 3 kids, one with special needs who keeps saying "tent", "tent"...in anticipation of picking it up this week ready for a trial weekend next weekend and then onto our first big camping holiday, already booked to 1170 during next school holidays. Now I work in customer service and I would never let a client of mine walk out of my office visibly upset, or as the manager put it "barking" at me. And yes, I was raising my voice, just so the other customers in the room could hear me and know exactly how upset we were by what had happened. It is your job as a manager to ensure that your customers, who had also paid a decent deposit, walk out very satisfied, particular if there has been a stuff up to this degree. We spoke to the lovely Mary in Sydney and she offered us a few solutions because she knows how to truly treat customers. But despite this...we have missed out on our camping holiday for Easter. Companies are also very quick to swipe your card for a deposit but now it will take a week to get our refund back should we choose that option. Not only has it ruined our weekend, next school holidays, but it is the disappointment in the lack of customer service and care for people paying a decent amount of money, to make memories for their families will last a very long time. A complimentary phone call from your office, a coffee or asking another member of staff to help us while you served others would have been the very least we expected from our visit, that, by the way was a 2 hour round trip!
I got my delta a few months ago now, had some small issues with the trailer. The plywood under the mattress was softer than the mattress so I needed to go buy a new mattress . Bought bedding as they stated it was a queen size but this was not the case. It's a king size bed. Overall after spend money on mattress I was impressed with the package and now that I have all the stickers removed I like the unit. Having delta displayed everywhere was a turn off. The tent is good and only had a very small hole at the pole pinch point. Not a big issue a...nd easy to fix. The trailer towers very well and as everyone has different requirements and likes I think for a standard made unit it is good value. The bad points is the dealings with gic was so hard as they seem to like to talk to anyone or reply in a timely fashion to emails. They took twice as long as promised to supply the unit, they made several requests for final payment after final payment was made before first request. I did not feel they were in tune with their clients and the fact I was without answers where the trailer was in the production line. Came close as a result of the lack of communication to cancelling the order. Glad I didn't. I would recommend black series to everyone but I would stress to take notes and ensure you correspond fully all the time to ensure you know what is happening. And make sure it is documented well in case you have a problem. Gic. You need to update the website to reflect bedding size and a few other descriptions. Learn to correspond better and try and acknowledge the fact that a camper trailer no matter what size it is , is a big investment for most and not getting answers or time line to supply makes for a very stressful time. Planning things on your promised dates only to see those dates not being met is not good. Never did gig call me apart from calling to ask for final payment after we had made the final payment. Would I buy another. .... Yes but hey I hope not for many years to come.
