Gillette Mach3 Turbo

Gillette uses cutting-edge science – Be VERY AWARE of Chinese fakes. The REAL Gillette Mach 3 Turbo cartridges are amazingly smooth, and slice through bristle effortlessly with the lightest of down-pressure. Sure, they cost more, but they're great, and last me about 6 months each, at shaving every 3rd day. Say, 50 shaves. Yes, they're pretty blunt by then, but when I bought fakes,… Read more
unwittingly, I desperately had to find the old one from the bin. The brand new fake, was heaps more blunt. Unbelievable, but TRUE.. I seriously cannot understand how there's a market for such crap (but they look fantastic !!!).
Making real Razor Blades from.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eeI7q_eIs7g
Heated to 2,000F (1,093C) for 30 seconds then submerge briefly in cold water, called quenching then to -50 C for 20 seconds reheat the blades to make them less brittle
Deceptive and wasteful packaging – While the razors themselves are OK, I just bought a "Value Pack" that only had five actual razors in it. I estimate the box to be at least seven times bigger than it need be, with huge writing suggesting more. Marketing/advertising people certainly know semiotic meaning and have used it to be deceptive in their wasteful packaging. Will be looking… Read more
elsewhere for an alternative brand with better consumer values than these shysters (personal opinion).
Why are the Mach3 blades sold in Australia rubbish? – I have been using the Mach3 for close to 20 years - but only because I spend a lot of time overseas and can buy refills nearly everywhere. I have never had any serious complaints about the quality of the blades or the shaving result - except with blades bought in Australia!! Why? I just had to start using blades bought here at Woolworths, because… Read more
the ones I had left over from Italy had run out. Three shaves and I cut myself in three different places! Only little knicks, but today's bled so badly that I ended up with blood stains on a fresh shirt...
Let me tell you: with Mach3 blades bought overseas (doesn't matter if bought in Europe, the Americas, or Malaysia) I have never had such problems; maybe one little cut once every 6-8 months, but certainly not every shave - or I would have given up long ago...
Bad product ever – I bought on sale in Coles mach 3 razor blades 3 packs and i ty to shave but it is not sharp so I have to use two blades for one shave it's a shame and not normal that they were on discount but still they shouldn't be in sales that bad material I've never felt that way its a shame for mach 3, I don't know what is happening with that company, but I don't buy that product anymore i am not happy customer and want my money back. No Longer Doing As Gillette Claim – Shaving for many years with Mach 3, but recently there construction materials no longer last - I don't know whether its that Gillette is having supply inferior products to the large supermarkets due to pricing pressures that are expected - no longer would you receive the claimed number of even 5 shaves before receiving a blunting blade irritated… Read more
skin - I'm lucky to get 3 before the green lubricating strip disappears as well.. Now having consider trying an another shaving system.
Won’t ever buy again – Quality has dropped right off. Not getting a close shave and not lasting as long as they used to. Very hard to clean also. Expensive to buy the cartridges. Simply found much better quality in other brands. Show details
Waste of money – The Mach 3 blades these days are rubbish and a total waste of money. I wouldn't recommend them. I started using them around 15 years ago, and back then, and for some time going forward, they were an outstanding razor - you could not fault them. These days, they are a poor quality razor that is massively overpriced. They didn't always include… Read more
the advertising gimmick on the box saying 'up to 15 shaves from a razor' - I suspect this was added after they changed to a poor quality blade in order to distract long time users from the reality that the blades had changed.
You don't get anywhere near 15 shaves from the blades these days, and the manufacturer shouldn't be allowed to include this on the packaging.
Even straight out of the packet they shave roughly the same as a three blade disposable razor, but at around 2.5 x the cost.
Unfortunately, this product is now just trading on its old reputation. It wouldn't surprise me if the blades in the Mach 3 cartridge (around $4.25 per cartridge) are just the blades from the Mach 3 disposable razor (around $1.65 per razor).
Don't waste your money.
A solute Disgrace!!? – Over a three year period, I bought two packs of these Razors. Never got one Shave out of both packs!? Had to use a Cheaper twin blade razor of a lesser brand to finish the job properly! Worst Shave ever, not the Cheapest ever by far. Show details
Inconsistent quality – I have been using this razor for years. I find that the razors are very inconsistent in quality. Some blades work well for many shaves. Others are useless after two or three shaves. Why is it so ? Show details
Blade base housing keeps snapping beneath the blades and the blades blunt within days – The blade base plastic that then attaches to the stem handle appears to be very thin and hydroscopic, i.e. it rapidly absorbs water then tears and fails after only a few shaves. So if you push down a little with a wet blade as you shave (on thin layer of shaving cream) within a couple of days the entire blade "pops" off and can't be reattached to… Read more
the handle as the very thin connector plastic at the bottom of each blade tears and can't be reattached. You are then forced to replace the head with a new blade and if you are lucky try again to get another few days out of it. I will also be changing to a different brand after this experience.
Package problem – The packaging is a sealed plastic casing. It's not easy to remove. It requires cutting with scissors. The plastic is relatively thick and the cutting creates sharp corners and edges. The outcome is that its a hassle. Why does the packaging need to be this style, with such an outcome? Better than most – I have been using the Mach 3 for years, recently tried other brands and blades as an experiment ( 2 and 5 blade Gillette and Oscar) I have heavy whiskers and find this razor gives the closest shave with no irritation. Never had a problem with dull blades or faulty handle. Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. Show details
Leaves no cuts & easy to clean – I have used Gillette razors for 30 years. I have tried other brands too, but they would always prove inferior in that they would leave more cuts on my face and were harder to clean. However, only Mach 3 felt like a real breakthrough for me: it NEVER cuts my skin and NEVER gets clogged with my bristle. I should mention that my facial hair of less than average density and thickness. Show details

Razor very flimsy and breaks easily – I have broken 5 Mach 3s in just over 2 months. I don't press hard but the razor plastic ends are so flimsy they break very easily. I persisted because I had lots of Mach 3 blades but will now go back to my old Schick. For the price it's a ridiculously expensive product that is so poorly and cheaply made and the the company must be aware of the problem. Show details
Wow use less rubbish – I have used your razors for a long time i have never complained about the price as the quality was there and durability was long . The new blades are blunt to start with and useless will never buy again overpriced rubbish from china. Show details
The new plastic packaging is a joke – The refills are expensive especially as at least two in every pack have been blunt, and cut me straight away, but what is worse the ridiculous idea to replace cardboard packaging with tough impenetrable plastic packaging, when plastic waste is one of the biggest environmental dis asters marine life and the human race faces today. Mach3 Turbo blades are blunt out of the pack – Have been a long time Mach3 user - have noticed a significant decline in the quality of replacement blade heads of late - to the point of them being blunt (and painful to use) out of the pack Will have to change brand I feel - disappointed
Very disappointed – Long time mach3 user but the last batch of blades I bought at Cosco was blunt.. brand new blades and they simply blunt, also I found that the plastic clips are very flimsy and weak and break.
Best product ev – Best product ever! clean close shave every time, no cuts and each blade last over a month of shaving every day!
Not bad at all – I bought this mach 3 turbo shaver from the gold cross chemist and started to use it to shave and found that it glided pretty easily over the skin while using the quality shaving cream gel however, the handle itself proved to be weak and easily snapped so I couldn't use the shaver anymore
At last .. thank you – I've been looking for a replacement for my schick quatttro razor/blades for a while, which used to be great but are now useless. I suspect they moved the place of manufacture. The Gillette Mach 3 turbo is what the Quattro used to be .. very sharp out of the pack and stay that way for multiple shaves. I notice tho that the ones I'm using at the… Read more
moment are made in Germany, but the ones I see on the shelves at the supermarket just lately are made in Poland .. hopefully not the same thing that happened to the quottro's .. you're on notice Gillette, don't mess with the quality !
false advertising – It turns out that this razor isn't actually turbocharged. I am shocked and appalled. Gillette will soon be receiving a strongly worded letter expressing my disappointment.

What are these blades actually made of – I have been using Mach 3 for many years now and can't believe how long the blades will last. The blade that I am presently using has been on the handle since 6/6/2010. I only shave every second day usually but this blade is as good as when I first used it. The "wear trip" is completely gone and it is down to bare metal but this blade is… Read more · 3
showing no signs of getting blunt even after being used constantly for 21 months now. I will keep using this blade until it gets blunt which on past performance does not seem to be any time soon. This is the first blade that I used out of the package but my being 70 years old and the way that these blades last it possible that this one package may last me for the rest of my life.
This is not fiction. This is fact and I would submit the blade for testing if anybody doubts what I say.
Peter Neilsen J.P. Unbelievably long lasting I have no complaint whatsoever.
underrated – I have been using the Mach3 turbo for many yeas now. The blade (head) that I am using now I have been using for 13 months. The colour strip and the plastic underlay that the strip is laid on has almost vanished but the razor s still cutting as good as the day I first used it. It does not look like I am going to need to change this blade… Read more
anytime soon so I am going to keep using it until it finally expires. It is hard to believe that a single blade head can last so long but I can testify to the fact that it is true.
Anybody who doubts that this blade has lasted so long feel free to arrange to have it inspected to verify that this is true. At the rate it is going the pack that I have could quite possibly last me for the rest of my life.
A good shave doesn't come cheap – This may be the best safety razor from Gillette, but quality doesn't come cheap, particularly when you have to fork out for replacements heads. The triple bladed heads certainly shave faster than two or one bladed razors, and fewer strokes means less irritation, as the ad says. But they don't shave that much closer than previous designs, and… Read more
really the only reason I haven't gone back to an older design is that Gillette does not sell them any more.
I compared the Mach 3 directly against the equivalent supermarket brand triple bladed razor and was surprised how little difference there was between the two. Close shave with fewer stokes Not good enough to justify the cost
Excellent – i recently bought myself a mach 3 and i havent looked back since, womens razors just dont last as long, i ussually get one use out of a womens razor on my legs, the mach 3 gives me about 4 or 5 shaves. impressive! the cartridges are expensive but im more than happy to pay the price because they last so long. and they dont cut you either! ladies if… Read more
your after a good razor this ones your best bet! its well worth the "investment" lol hands down the best shaver ever, the blades last forever,it doesnt cut you. it comes in a neat little package where you can keep your refills in nice and neat very expensive
Good – The Gillette March3 Turbo has been reviewed by Mensbiz as one of the best favoured cartriage shavers. The turbo version has the additional stripe that makes shaving more comfortable. The shave is better with traditional normal shaving cream than using Gilette's shaving foam or gel. Is only a shame that these refills cartriges dont come in cheap… Read more
and funny enough they can be bought cheaper overseas like Singapore for nearly $4.00 cheaper. By far this is the best from Gillette I have tried so far. Best product from Gillette, not too over priced cartriage blades thats gives a good shave and last pretty long blades are still considered expensive by far
