They’ve done their homework!
I purchased my Cannon X 12 months ago, and I’m soo happy with the purchase. I don’t usually do a lot of K’s but I’ve racked up nearly 20k in the last year without a hiccup. I have a mechanical background and researched every aspect of this vehicle before my purchase. GWM have done a great job! It’s not perfect… But for pure value for money, safety, and for what you get under the skin (which most dual cab users wouldn’t notice) makes for a very commendable effort from GWM… they have definitely done their homework. 4 wheel disc brakes, ZF tr...
Read moreansmission, Bosch stability control and abs, Borg Warner transfer case. Rear diff lock, Led headlights (high and low beam). A seperate transmission cooler, one simple easy to access serpentine belt to control all of the engines ancillaries. There’s so many little details that GWM has clearly done, that not many of the mainstream reviews has even noticed. Even little things like gas struts on the bonnet, and rear tailgate (which also has a rear step built in. The build quality is excellent. As mentioned, it’s not perfect. But easily rectified for little expense… The front suspension in my opinion is a bit on the soft side and could do with some up rated dampers/springs. There are a few simple software updates that could be done to make the Cannon a little more user friendly from the drivers seat, with regard to vehicle safety settings, audio and navigation. But other than that I’m totally happy. Do yourself a favour and YouTube GWM Poer, or P Series and have a look at the reviews from around the world. I’m old enough to remember when Toyota’s were considered “Japanese crap” and Hyundai was a nothing brand. The GWM Cannon is definitely worth a look, and you’ll probably save enough to by a boat or a motorcycle to tow behind it.Purchased in April 2021 for $41,000.
Great value and well built ute.
Great value ute, way better then I expected and has been so far an amazing work horse. I take the family out camping off road on the weekends and at the worksite during the week days.
Leather seats, rear locker and all the safety features in the base model.... At 25k cheaper then other brands of the same spec. Can't complain.

Excellent value for money, and 7 year warranty...can't go wrong!
I purchased my Cannon-X in May 2021. Now, 12 months later I have done 30,000km in the ute and I am just as happy as the day I drove it out of the dealership! Sold my dual cab MQ GLS Triton 4x4 and upgraded to the Cannon-X with zero regrets.
I use my ute to commute to work (102km round trip currently, less prior) Monday to Friday and the fuel economy is excellent! Roughly 900km out of a tank of diesel.
Only issue I have had with the vehicle was an annoying DPF burn at regular intervals (fixed by last software update) and a the bluetooth/android ...

Amazingly good vehicle for the price
Had for 7 months now done 19,000 kays and nothing has gone wrong, great smooth ride, powerful engine, quality materials, good after sales service. Have towed 2 different boats with it - takes to numerous boat ramps - no issues at all. Great off road esp Expert Cross Country Mode
Purchased in June 2021 at Col Crawford for $41,500.
Find out how GWM Ute Cannon-X 2021 compares to other Utes
Know better, choose better.
Quite Impressive
Only done 3000km to date.
STD HT Tyres.
Did a 1000km round trip.
Getting used to lane keep assist which makes steering rigid.
Travelled to the speed limit and consumption was according to spec (slightly better).
Put the vehicle to the test on soft coastal sand tracks and beach. Performed as well as any vehicle in same conditions at the time. 4x4 on demand works well.
Suspension could be softer for corrugated surfaces.
Purchased in November 2021 at GWM Wangarra for $42,500.

2021 GWM Cannon X lane assist problem with night driving in wet weather and first gear getting stuck !!
BUYER BE AWARE DONT BUY A GWM CANNON X UTE . harsh jecking from lane assist and poor gear change down hill . I've done little over 3,000 kms and a bad start with the soft ware problems but where fix by the the dealer ship to a point but started to appear again .Buyers need to be made aware of my problems with the new GWM ute so no one else buys the same problems
Besides the soft ware problem , I soon discovered another problem with the steering lane assist while driving at night in the wet . the sudden jerking from left to rig...

Unbelievable value
Purchssed base model in Nov 21. Has been fantastic value for money. 10,000 km now and no issues whatsoever. Smooth, economical and a lot of commonsense features. The hill start feature is about the only thing I dont like.
Purchased in November 2021 for $35,000.

Hi Laip. , Sorry to hear you too are having the very problems same problem as I did ,I feel your pain . the only way GWM dealerships and the GWM manifacture will take notice is by more people com...
Read moreing forward .let the media be aware as well , Write a review on this web site with your problems and write a google review on your dealership as well . Its a mater of time before there is a class action is taken against GWM , I will be on board when this finerly happens . All dealerships are the same , they well pass the buck !! When you complain the only thing a dealership will do is place the car in the workshop connect the service laptop to the car and if they find faults they will deleted but this doesnt fix the problem and then send you on the way . they will keep doing this until the warrenty runs out as the dealership gets paid every time it come in to the dealership workshop as a warrenty claim . I had my GWM Cannon X ute only for 3 months and after 3 months and puting up with GWM kunda park B"""S"" . I spoke with Ray at GWM head office support team with my many complaints with the cannon X ute and the dealerships behaviour but went no where fast . GWM head office will make a lot of exuses for there poor service but dont learn from them , (GWM service is so bad you start to give up ) , Forget trying a buy back from GWM as the warrenty is not worth the paper its printed on ! the sceam will take months of returning visits to the dealership service centre by the time , it happens , if at all your car is worthless ! In my apinion the best way out is cut your losses and trade the cannon as fast as can can before it become worhtless , I had to cut my loses and buy a second hand low Km Ford ranger XLT still under ford manifacture warrenty .Get an answer from our members
