Couldn't pay me to get another haier dryer – Absolute s#@t product. My $200 dryer was so much better than this $1000+ one. I regret not complaining sooner so we might be able to get some money back or be able to return it. Doesn't dry stuff 80% of the time l, often will take all day to dry one load and when set in the evening will beep repeatedly then dry for another 15 minutes then beep… Read more

again for hours if I let it. Horrible horrible machine do not buy!! And yes I clean it out, put smaller loads in and have tried all the settings.

Condenser fail – To be fair I bought this as part of a new years sale package where it came with a washing machine. I read sale and stopped at dryer, I so wish I had read that online ad properly. I absolutely do not recommend this product. The only way it dries any of my clothes is when its set to the highest setting, god forbid I put towels or bedding's in there… Read more

because it does Sweet FA. I just get a big wet round ball of wet linens. So when it rains and I need my bedding's dried, I save myself the trouble & I take my stuff to the nearby laundromat

Love it – Loves the way it makes your clothes look fresh and look new but annoying how it sometimes won't do a cycle for longer the 5 mins and keeps flashing filter even tho it's clean Show details

A dryer that doesn't dry – I purchased this online from The Good Guys and instantly wanted to return it. I tested it with a light load of spun dry linens on the recommended settings. An easy job for any tumble dryer. When the cycle had finished (1h30m+) my linens were just as damp to the touch as they went in only warmer. Even a second pass didn't get them fully dry. A… Read more

dryer that doesn't try is a remarkable achievement considering the absolutely stunning amount of power it pulls (Information that was not made available on their website I might add). I've contacted The Good Guys to try and arrange an exchange but I am still waiting on a response.

This product is an absolute lemon. If your energy bills are too low and you like your clothes warm and damp then I can't recommend this product enough. If you're after a dryer though...

Great dryer until it has a failure – Up till now the dryer has worked well. No condensate in the laundry and minimal lint. We keep the filters and condenser clean on a regular basis. About two weeks ago there was a puddle of water on the floor near the dryer and I work out that the water was leaking from the rear of the dryer at the bottom. After some investigation, it turns out… Read more

there is an overflow in case there is a blockage somewhere and the sump pump cannot pump the sump clear. After I pulled the dryer apart to investigate the problem, I found that in the rear air duct chamber there are small channels that allow the excess water run under the condenser to a small sump. The main channel to the sump was blocked with lint, so the excess water was not flowing to the sump and therefore the sump pump. Solution: Remove the condenser from the bottom of the dryer. At the rear of this chamber is a removable cover (you will need to tip the dryer on to its side to get access to the tabs that hold this cover in place). Once removed, you can then access the lower sump and clean the channels that allow the water to flow from the rear air duct to the sump pump .(Its advisable to complete this maintenance in an area where can use a hose to wash out this area.)

Shame on Haier for not including this in their troubleshooting guide

Perfect machine so far – Unsure where the other reviews are coming from but we've used ours for just over 6m with 0 errors so far. Dries in a few hours, no issues with hinges or errors or clothes not drying so far thankfully and energy efficient Show details

No dramas here! – I used to have an unvented dryer in the garage but after getting soaked on rainy cold winter days going out there I decided to go for a condenser model to have in the house. I like that this machine doesn't over dry items like my old unvented dryer did, I've noticed my fabrics have lasted much longer given they aren't being crispy fried! A load… Read more

of towels come out dry but still soft in under an hour. A trick for sheets, tie the diagonal corners in a light knot which stops them bunching while tumbling and just run them on a normal cotton cycle. It works for me, I get a queen size sheet set dry within an hour. I got my machine on a good deal nearly 2.5 years ago and I'm still really happy with it.

Wish I had never bought this dryer – Clothes straight from the washer will dry but only on the hottest setting. I put one sheet at a time to try to get the sheets to stop bunching and going into a wet football shape. The sheet still bunched up and does not dry even with the addition of dryer balls and three tennis balls . Only saving grace is that the windows don’t mist up. Overly expensive dryer with poor performance. We will not buy Haier brand ever again.

The worst! – This dryer .. just does not dry! It uses a ridiculous amount of power and ties your clothes, sheets or towels in a wet knot. The absolute worst. Save your money and invest in a clothes horse Show details

Hate it!! – Clothes take forever to dry, can be u to 6 hours or more sometimes. I let the sales woman talk me into this as she has one and it's the best ever. Hated it from day, give me back my dryer the fogs up the laundry please, at least it dried. Had for under 18 months and now when it tries to spin it makes a really little ud noise and I can't use it. Would never buy one of these dryers again Show details

Not a great dryer – Bought my condenser dryer May last year. Hasn't been great from the start but thought I was using the wrong drying cycle. Been very hit or miss when it comes to the cycle completing and actually drying the clothes. Now not drying at all, cycle keeps ending prematurely and filter light flashes even though filter and condenser are perfectly clean. I have a technician booked to come look at it, wish I had read these reviews before buying! Show details

Purchasers, I feel your frustration! – I don't even own one, but am staying somewhere where the holidaying owners do. What torture this piece of rubbish is, for ALL the shared aforesaid reasons. I will avoid this brand in future, luckily not having ever spent a cent on one. Sheets that ball up and couldn't possibly dry as a mass. Stop-starting. Machine stops after 2 minutes. Nothing has ever been removed dry. Show details

Useless – Purchased approximately 2 years ago for $800. Lucky I extended the warranty. Worked ok for first 3 months. Persisted with it, but it bunched up the sheets, took longer than it was programmed to dry, filter light kept coming on, making an awful grinding of gears noise. We are on our second dryer and it is just as bad, already had a technician come and repair, now it’s leaking water, and the grinding of the gears noise is back. Show details

A garbage clothes dryer. Filter light constantly flashing and simply does not dry clothes. Don’t buy one – This “dryer” has never dried clothes properly from day one. Now it will only run for about five minutes and then stop with a flashing filter light. This dryer has only been used for about 20 cycles. I will be throwing it away and buying a different brand. Show details

Dryer that just won't dry! – I try to use to air clothes still damp from the line. Turn on for 1 min then it stops. Sometimes it starts again for 1min then stops. The filter light flashes indicating it needs emptying, even though it's clean. This can continue for hours and no change to the clothes - still damp. If I'm trying to dry a wet load? - forget it. It just won't happen no matter what setting you try. Terrible machine. I DO NOT recommend. Show details

A dryer that doesn't dry! – I'd give it less stars, but the least I could have was one. Had this dryer for a little over a year now and will say that it is completely useless waste of money and energy! It does not get anything dry, Sheets roll up into a solid wet ball repeatedly and take 4-5 cycles to get 80 percent dry, put clothes straight in from the washing machine and 2… Read more

minutes later it's stopped and tells me it's done. This does not dry a thing and have upgraded to my parents 30 odd year old fisher and paykel dryer. WTH Haier...? My recommendation is to purchase a clothes airer instead.

Terrible machine – I have the same problem as everyone else constantly - runs for a minute, stops, runs for another short stint or two and then tells me it’s finished and the filter needs emptying even though I’ve cleaned the filter a number of times. Don’t buy one of these!

First use and filter light comes on after 1 minute – Bought this dryer 3 weeks ago from appliances online. Went to use it for the first time on Thursday and it runs for 1 minute, stops, 10 seconds, stops and a final 10 seconds the filter light comes on and it ENDS. There is nothing in the filter, I have tried various setting and temps and degrees of dryness and the same thing happens. Called AO on… Read more

Thursday, left my number for a call back which didn’t happen, messaged them on the chat bot page, no reply. Finally spoke to someone today who advised my 2 week return policy has lapsed and have to put in a service call. Tried to reason with the gent who was very understanding, that I haven’t had to use this product until Thursday so couldn’t have possibly known it was faulty within the 2 week return but to no avail. This unit does not work, is not fit for purpose and I honest to god wish I’d looked up reviews before purchasing. I also bought a Samsung front loader that same day from AO which has been a dream, as I have the need to use a washing machine every other day, unlike the dryer. Seriously avoid this unit like the plague these reviews are not lying. Will see what the service engineer has to say if they ever turn up.

Getting rid of this after just over 2 years! – We live in NZ and purchased this dryer for our new home 2 years ago ... and I would never recommend it to anyone! How I wish I'd known about productreview.com.au at the time! The dryer never seems to dry properly even though I try to match the program to the type of laundry closely. Sheets become a tight football so remain wet. I have always… Read more

cleaned the filter and emptied the water tank after each load but even so the main filter has required ever more frequent cleaning, and recently has started stopping the program after only 15 minutes!!! To clean it (although not a trace of fluff can be seen inside), then wait for it to dry, after every use is an absolute pain to say the least! I reckon the sensors must be faulty but even if they could be fixed or the machine replaced its general performance is so disappointing I would not want a replacement.

Yesterday we purchased a Beko heat pump dryer basing our choice on research into available models via this excellent website. Thank you Product Review. I hope I will feel able to write a glowing report about our new dryer at some point in the future.

I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing – Our old dryer finally died and being winter we needed another, this dryer is such a disappointment, I've found it's only drying clothes completely from straight out of the washing machine which will ultimately cost us a lot more in power as I used to just use the dryer to 'finish' almost dry clothes off the clothes line outside, but if you put… Read more

clothes which are not quite dry in to do this it makes them even damper, which is really annoying and makes the whole thing useless. I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing. Update: Sept 2024- now getting an E6 error message every time I use it after only a few minutes, which apparently means the filter needs cleaning but which is incorrect as this is cleaned after each use and is clean. I'm not going to bother with another Haier dryer or any other Haier product, heading out to buy a different brand now, would expect it to last longer than this.

Useless and waste of money – This Dryer is totally useless and does not dry anything, I am so angry I wasted so much money on it, takes 3 trys to get things dry and really expensive on power. Disappointing – Very disappointed with this "dryer". The first dryer did not work from new, kept stopping after 1 min, telling me to empty the water tank which was empty ( Never used). Does not dry anything – These reviews are all on point. I have honestly just one cotton sheet in there, it's been 2.5 hours and the thing is still damp. I'm not going to even bother putting the other washing in there because thats just a waste of time. You'll be waiting a long time for anything to dry. HDC80E1 Condenser Dryer – Purchased June 2019 (last year). I have to call the repair man again as the roller has flattened AGAIN. Two call outs in less than a year. What happens when the dryer is out of warranty? Make parts that last please. This Dryer was recommend by Good Guys, but I would not buy another one. I cannot afford to replace the rollers every year. Show details

Terrible. Do not buy it – I have used many different settings to try to get my clothes dry. Unfortunately, the Haier 8kg heat pump clothes dryer which cost me over $1100 DOES NOT DRY CLOTHES of any kind. Cotton, undies, work shirts, towels. Nothing gets even remotely dry. Show details

Would not recommend – The worst dryer that I have ever used. It only spins one way, therefore the clothes bunch up in a ball leaving the outside clothes dry and the inside (of the ball) very damp.
