Never buying a Hills product again – You'd think a company renowned for clotheslines would build great products and hopefully back up their products right? Purchased the airer in 2019. 9 months in, nearly all of the plastic clips joining it together started failing, rendering it useless. Contacted Hills hoping for a credit on a different one or something but the response was a flat… Read more

"we don't make these parts anymore so we can't help you" and suggested going to a hardware store to find something fix it (what the). Ended up throwing it into hard rubbish and purchasing one from a famous discount chain for a third of the price which has been going fine since. Won't be buying Hills overpriced junk again.

Very happy with this airer – I bought this nearly 2 years ago for indoor drying, and am so happy with it that I'd like another. But Stratco, where I bought this from does not have it as part of its regular stock. I agree with other reviewers that it's extremely fiddly to set up. But once it's up, it is very useful and versatile. I use the flat racks for drying woollens and… Read more

often fold up the middle rack so that I can use the high horizontal bars for drying clothes on hangers. The plastic hinges are strong enough if you take care not to overload it.

Multiple issues, buy a different brand – Went rusty straight away, stains clothes, often un-clips and collapses. Flimsy plastic clips can't withstand being blown over in the wind. I am throwing this airer out less than two years after I bought it. Expensive landfill. I should have bought a cheap one as it would probably still be working for me. Don't waste your money.

Sturdy and practical – I purchased the trilogy airer from Stratco 3 years ago to add to indoor drying space. We have a large family and our Hills 170 portable indoor clothesline was not keeping up with the washing through winter. I recall it being a bit fiddly to assemble but it has been very useful since and it is fairly sturdy. We use it almost every day during… Read more

winter. (I wash 2-3 loads 5 days a week).

I had a few issues initially, with young children pinching their fingers and pulling it over. Like many things, (i.e. the television), the kids need to learn not to touch and, once they have, it's no longer a problem. I'm grateful to have the extra drying space which doesn't take up much room.

useful airer – The Hills Trilogy Versatile Clothes Airer was annoying to assemble but I had no issues with missing or damaged pieces during assembly. I have used this for years now and it is still in good condition. I usually keep it outdoors under shelter but as it has some minor rusting from being outdoors I would say it is better indoors. It is strong,… Read more

compact and very useful - I like the fact indoors it takes up less space than other clothing racks. It has definitely lasted longer than cheaper clothes airers. For me the only negatives are the initial assembly and that moving it around is not always easy due to its height (it is also heavier than cheaper airers). During assembly much like with IKEA items carefully read the instructions and screw on pieces so they are secure but do not over screw / screw them too tight or you may damage the product.

Note: unlike the other reviewer I did not experience any screws sticking out when assembled. All screws are perfectly flush against product.

Functionable, but only just – Assembly was far from easy. It took a lot of work to get the parts to line up. It has left a screw that refuses to move, sticking out on each side at the top, which is dangerous and insecure. It has also started to rust. I guess 'suitable for outdoors' doesn't mean it's weatherproof. I find actually setting the airer up can be cumbersome, and have once bruised myself badly and a few times pinched my fingers in the attempt. Bad design.

Absolute Disaster, Major Design Faults – Do not buy. This product has major design faults that render it unusable. I bought this clothes airer from a major store because I was sick of flimsy cheap airers. It looked quite solidly constructed and was by far the most expensive airer on offer so I had high expectations. The assembly was reasonably simple but still took some time and thought… Read more

(assembly was a 14 step process). One step in the assembly involved inserting a barbed plastic rivet into a plastic moulding to connect the upper rack. The instructions said “gently hammer the bared rivet through the plastic moulding” and it had a figure showing a steel hammer hitting the rivet. I inserted the first rivet very very carefully but when I did the other side, just as carefully, the moulding broke. This was an essential component for the structure so it had to be replaced. When I rang Hills to try to get a replacement part, they said there was nothing available. They suggested getting another airer from the store but I did not fancy paying twice as much for something that is likely to break before I could use it. I was therefore left with a completely useless expensive airer that I could not use or fix. So I cut up the lovely solid tubing with an angle grinder, put it in the bin and went out and bought a cheap and nasty airer that I at least got to put some clothes on.
