I've just replaced my original Hisense 65" with the latest version and I must say how impressed I am with it. The image quality is superb for the price and the functions available are right up-to-date. I also have a 65" LG OLED which is terrific but over 3 times the price. Well done Hisense.

Follow-up  · The sound quality is good but you do need to crank up the volume when compared to the older model which I replaced. Set up was really easy to do and the instructions were easy to understand. Smart features are excellent with lots of useable apps installed on the homescreen. The start up speed is much quicker than the older model.

Purchased in at JB Hi-Fi for $1,261.

Hisense warranty support very poor – Purchased a Hisense 65″ ULED MINI-LED PRO SERIES U8KAU from JBHIFI (great experience) and coupled it with a Hisense sound bar as I did not want any issues with needing to juggle several remote controls. Of course the Hisense TV remote will not operate the Hisense sound bar - lots of lag time with volume up or down. I have now spent several frustrating hours with Hisense Australia attempting to fix this issue - Hisense sent a USB with a firmware update which failed to provide a fix, had someone from Hisense on the phone guiding me through pointless changes of settings. Now I need to contact another technician from Hisense to try and get this sorted. Hisense have not kept accurate or complete files notes on my warranty claim so be warned about their level of customer support. Maybe I am better to buy a cheap ALDI tv every 3 or 4 years and not expect any company to back up their claims with viable support?

AUGUST 2024 UPDATE: After spending hours and hours of time complaining and communicating with Hisense Australia they finally sent a technician who replaced the mother board (in the process he was sure that it wouldn't fix the problem) and no better. Hisense then communicated that they could do nothing more for me as the issue was due to "HARDWARE LIMITATIONS". So in summary BE VERY CAUTIOUS WHEN BUYING A HISENSE TV AND HISENSE SOUNDBAR if you are expecting to use one remote control to manage everything. Hisense are prepared to sell products that won't be compatible with each other when most of the other telly companies do. As we are experiencing with many manufacturers nowadays the offer of a in-store refund is beyond the pale. I gave Hisense a go but never again!

Purchased in at JB Hi-Fi for $1,200.

DO NOT BUY IF YOU WANT TO WATCH 7Plus – DO NOT BUY IF YOU WANT TO WATCH 7Plus. The worst ‘smart tv’ if you want to watch 7Plus. This TV doesn’t allow to press on the red button on the remote control to let you watch this channel. I also tried downloading the 7plus app but won’t play. ALL other channels don’t have problem . NOT BUYING THIS BRAND AGAIN.

Purchased in at Harvey Norman Retail Stores - Electronics for $899.

Great Smart TV – Purchased a Hisense 65” TV recently and couldn’t be more happy. I was uncertain about buying a Chinese product at first, however I found Hisense is a big supplier to Australia. It was very easy to set up and I found it very easy to use also. The remote has buttons for Netflix, Prime, Disney, Stan, Kayo, YouTube and others. My wife in the past has complained about using our previous tv remote, but finds the tv very easy to use. Couldn’t have made a better choice, so good for older people like us.

Purchased in for $1,695.

My first OLED TV and it's Awesome! – TL;DR - Great TV, highly recommend for $2.5K or less, best valued OLED of this size and with better than good audio built in it's a winner! Short story long... Purchased late March 2023 after Hisense announced their 2023 products (the X9H is the 2022 model) so it was $2K off as stores are clearing out their old to make way for the new, what a deal!

Unboxing and installing the stand was pretty straight forward, I did it on my own no probs. While I got it from the floor to the entertainment unit on my own, because of the size, shape and weight I'd recommend a second person is needed, not easy.

Connected the computer and Xbox Series X via the HDMI 2.1 ports and that's it, I don't use an aerial.

Turned it on, setup was simple enough when using the (Android) phone app (if only for the keyboard), took all of a few minutes to complete. Required 2 updates and a remote control update as well and they took maybe 10 mins total on top.

Watched various 4K videos setting up the audio and video to find my sweet spot for the PC input, I had to factory reset the TV once because I messed the audio so bad I couldn't get it back to at least some semblance of normal as I'd changed multiple settings at once, it was easier to reset the TV...lesson learned :)

The audio is hands down the best I've heard for any built in TV speakers, I will be connecting the optical-audio out to the amp at some point but I'm in no rush as TV shows, Movies and games all sound better than great as is.

The picture quality I'm blown away by, I've upgraded from a 2015 50" 4K LED screen (Samsung), so switching from LED to OLED would explain why it looks so good I think, the picture quality is mint! I've been watching 720 (HD)/1080 (2K) and 2160p (4K) videos and they all look amazing. The Xbox Series X is absolutely next level though, once I enabled all the HDMI 2.1 stuff on the console like Dolby Vision and Variable Refresh Rate...WOW and OMG!

The remote has 12 dedicated Smart TV app shortcut buttons which can't be remapped including the common, YouTube, Netflix, Disney+, Kayo, Stan and Amazon...none of which I care about as I prefer to stream Kayo (the only one I subscribe to) via a browser on the PC but it does have ABC iview and Plex which I've setup and I know will come in handy. No sleep timer button on the remote either, haven't seen one of those in 10+ years :(

Casting from my Android phone was simple, enable casting via TV settings (not enabled by default) and use the Android app, I don't know if Apple is supported in the same way though?

I did notice some light lines on the screen upon first viewing via the PC input, switched to the Home screen and they were still there, tried the Xbox input and still there...thought I'd bought a dud but ran the "Panel Maintenance" option from the Picture menu options and viola, a couple of minutes later she was perfection. Between being built in the factory, boxing, warehousing and shipping it has probably been picked up and put down 50+ times, so for something like this that was so easily fixed, not a worry.

I would 100% highly recommend this 65" OLED screen to anyone, I believe Hisense and TCL are the only manufacturers who currently support both Dolby Vision and HDR10+, all other manufacturers only support one or the other so go and get yourself a bargain!!!
